I did this method from 79 RC all to way to getting the pet around 17m (swapped to soul runes the moment I hit 90 RC and stook with it).
Some tips:
- Get a ring of endurance. While it is a massive investment, it does make the headache of run energy disappear. I did the grind around 75 agility and I never had to worry about run energy. However, this leads me to point Nr2
- If you want a more AFK method at the cost of xp/profit, auto craft the essence blocks at the altar. This gives you about 40 ish seconds of AFK time where you cut the blocks into essence. While this extends your trip, it does provide you with a "set" amount of AFK time, perfect to finish a sentence in the mail, check an entry in the report,... And you also stand still, regaining run energy
- If you're using blood essence, I noticed it's more beneficial to keep a stack of unused blood essences on you. The time it takes to teleport to a bank, swap essence, run back, is more beneficial in terms of xp/hr in the long run, but if you plan to do this in short bursts it barely pays any benefits. If you're camping this spot from 77 to 99 without doing anything else, it will result in a bigger xp/hr in the long run. Other than that, keep a few spare blood essence on you so that you an just camp the spot, making it more AFK but costing you a bit of xp/hr at the "cost"of a more relaxed and profitable alternative
- I noticed that on less populated worlds, I had more moments where the essence mine lasted longer. Not sure if other people can also deplete the node, but I had moments where the noted got depleted during the crafting animation. Could be bias, but it felt like worlds where I was alone or with 1-2 others resulted in more AFK time (has been months since I last did this method, so I could be wrong)
All in all I agree with NoLeather: Amazing method to do if you have to pay semi-attention/have the chance to look away from your work at irregular intervals. Less ideal if you want to stay afk for minutes on end. Big money maker though, with how slow it is and how much raw profit you make (especially soul runes), the endurance investment got paid back 2,5x I think. If not more
Runecrafting was my last 99 to max. Maxed two weeks ago. Probably made 50M off it. It was nice to make make gp instead of lose it compared to construction.
Gotr outfit + home tele runes (with pool + fairy ring). Never lose run. Dust, law, blood, or if you have divine pouch you can use air and earth.
Im doing closer to 900k/hr like this with bloods at 260/ea.
Mine inventory, darken, chisel while running back to mine, mine again, darken it, home tele, pool, fairy ring CIS, run to altar, make runes, repeat.
This is perfect timing. I just finished gotr to 77 :D

Another reason why Kourend is one of the coolest places on the map. They just need to fix Lovakengj and Arceuus, maybe Shayzien a bit too
The only thing you can add on top of the AFK-ness of this activity is Home Teleport every 30 minutes. Saves you a bit of time when it's time to run to the altar.

MY MAN
Using a construction cape/rune pouch with home tele can save you energy and not have to worry about lightweight gear! Rejuvination pool and fairy ring needed.
For bloods, when imbued 2nd inventory of essence - tele home, use pool and ring to CIS and then run to altar.
For souls, just do as in video, but after crafted 2nd inventory of runes - tele home, use pool, fairy ring to CIS and run to the mine!

Great video! While I’m sure many already know these things and no one asked; you can do part of the soul runs through the abyss to shave off a little time. Definitely a little more click intensive, but like you said it’s kinda eh in terms of afk already.
Also, pretty useless info BUT, when making bloods, if you xerics talisman to xerics heart, run north west through the dungeon to the exit while inconveniently getting smacked by monsters; you can pop up on the other side of that fence and MAYBE save 5 seconds. Maybe.
I find it odd that you can NOT bank dense blocks or the fragments. But you CAN bank dark blocks. I was trying to discover a fast way to bank them to then do edgville abyss runs only for souls, but I’m pretty certain you’d lose your ass on time. Anyway just my 2 cents, keep up the great work on videos my man.
I think karajma gloves teleport to gem mine to deposit blocks and then QP / Con cape to fairy ring back is probably the best option?
I’m thinking about trying the bank method just because I think it would be more “afk” farming the blocks and then I can go HAM in the abyss after work
@@tylobedo yea those are very good points, that would probably be the best you could get. I’m one of those morons who has a semi restricted account so I can only do so much with 1 def and no overheads XD

You might get a lot from doing some barrel barbarian fishing (from my previous episode) good fishing xp + some passive strength & agility too, and later down the road you can actually use the fish to stretch some additional herblore xp that might come in handy
Vyres for bloodshards and rune ore, slayer, karams/anglers, magics/redwoods, shooting stars, imbueing gem jewelry, for example turning emeralds into duel rings. I also camped crabs on fossil island training range, and jumped over to the boat for seaweed every 4 resets or so (10min reset time)

im actually doing this rn in game going for max. btw I wear my desert ammy and quest cape to restore run and telly back to fairy ring (you lose a few ticks then just running). however, telly-ing to house and hitting pool and fairy ring is almost as fast as straight running (and you can have your rune pouch to hold bloods, dust and law) so no lost inv)
Good info man, I've done it for a few hours here and there when I get a blood essence but honesty I prefer just sending ZMI or something in small bursts for RC. what would the rates drop to if you didn't chisel during runs? Surely you can make it "more afk" that way, right?
It could make it a little more afk, if u chisel one and let it auto chisel the rest, but it’s much slower, as u run back to the mine u can chisel the full invent before hopping the boulder, then it’s back to mining the essence afk

This is perfect for an alt account but I agree with you it's not great to do while working.
I’m fairly certain mobile also has a render distance setting. I only runecraft on mobile and it’s like 2 taps to the altar
You can zoom out minimap on mobile aswell /Mobile only player

I house tele every time I go to the blood rune altar. Restore, take POH. It’s 2-4 ticks longer than running. But I never run out of run. And keep preserve on all the time

I’m wondering how viable banking the dark essence blocks would be instead of crafting runes. My thoughts are it’s going to be way more “afkable” to bank dark essence and then you can go HAM using the dark essence blocks after work.
I’m thinking probably Karajma gloves gem mine to deposit and then quest point cape run back to the mine.
