Brilliant video, exactly the sort of thing I wish I could do. I've found myself using the GBS-8200 with the onboard microcontroller replaced with one running gbs-control, it can pass through signals to VGA/HDMI or upscale them to different resolutions, it has scanline options and it also maintains sync between resolutions in games like Silent Hill!
I was making all sorts of random content and it wasn’t really getting anywhere, people who liked one thing were getting recommended something totally different that I made. So I turned the main channel into something I could make consistently (the horror reviews) and put the rest of my content onto the side channel. Because I find it hard to find the enthusiasm to make old school game reviews nowadays, I’ve been unwell a lot and sometimes no one would watch them, which was disheartening. But I was still proud of them so I just moved them all onto here.
I have both the Framemeister and the cheap SCART to HDMI device in my setup, plus the OSSC. Hate to say it, but in all honesty, I prefer the OSSC and the cheap SCART device over the Framemeister. Aside from the obvious blackouts during resolution switches, there are so many settings to change and no universal setting for all consoles that the Framemeister is extremely user unfriendly. Plus all the profiles I found online seem to be for NTSC consoles rather than PAL consoles. If I'm playing a 240p or 288p or 480p game, I use the OSSC. If I'm playing an interlaced game or one of those games with the resolution switch issue, I use either the PS3 or the cheap SCART scaler. The HDMI input on the cheap scaler also does a good job of normalizing the OSSC's output into something my TV and capture card accepts.
@@slinkyfailures For sure. My preference for the OSSC is its ease of use. I know it has a lot of settings to tweak. But for my needs, the only one that really matters is what line multiple to use: 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x. My equipment doesn't like the 5x mode though.

I don't own the OSSC for comparison, everyone has their own preference and so far i've been immensely satisfied with the framemeister.
