With the Em GOAT convo you either have delusional em fans saying he’s the bonafide GOAT and nobody else can compete, or you got Em Discreditors who think he’s not even Top 10 (mostly because of his post 2010s run) But realistically there is no 1 rap GOAT, i think theres about 7 rappers who are in the convo and any one of them could be the GOAT with the legacy they left behind along with the Skill they carry as a rapper. And if you Dont think Em is included in that youre wrong, even if his last few years hasnt been that good he still has atleast a decade of greatness with a solid discography to match.
completely correct. There's a list of people who have an argument, Em is one of them purely on the basis of his album sales if nothing else. People also overstate how hard he fell off, as he has a decent list of strong songs even on his worst albums (killshot, darkness, rap god). Of course saying he's undisputed number 1 is just silly because there's other categories that other people lead in.

Em wants smoke from Jay. Tupac beefed with Biggie; Jay Z beefed with Nas; Kendrick beefed with Drake. Eminem knows that he needs a big beef to get the crown and MGK, Benzino and Mariah Carey are not going to cut it.
The “so am I verse” honestly is really high-class of Em. He’s clapping back while still acknowledging respect for his target. It’s clear that he’s approaching this differently than how Kendrick beat down Drake, and in this particular instance, I think he’s made the right move because Mel clearly has a higher standing than Drake.
Drake and Kendrick are peers, no reason to hold back for either of them, they are top contenders for the throne rn Melle Mel was an inspiration for Eminem, one of his idols, he can't talk down on him because he acknowledges he already learnt the craft from him and they're not in contention for the same throne
@@hadon_that's like saying for example Kendrick can't be compared to Eminem? Like I don't want to downplay Eminem but Kendrick literally says that he was influenced in ems early work there are very interviews from him stating that. For me, current Eminem (in terms of quality art) he ain't beating Kendrick, maybe 1999-2012 eminem could, but not the one we got today (would love to being proven wrong by that slim shady album) Just because he was inspired of somebody else, don't mean he can't be considered as a legend. For example look at kanye and drake (we ain't talking about his ghostwriter allegations for somebody that want to go there), kanye was the main one in shaping the new sound of hip hop back in the late 2000's with 808 and artists like drake helped in cementing that poppish sound to be so popular back then. Don't get me twisted, it's definitely up there, but the same way 50 Cent is in a position where he doesn't have to rap for success anymore... Jay Z is in a MUCH better position for that to be true. Jay don't have the same musical hunger that Kendrick and Eminem has. And to be honest I don't think he ever did. No. Eminem could beat Jay Z in a battle but Jay-Zs discography is definitely better than Eminems. Em has had too many turd albums like Kamakaze, MMLP2 and whatever else. Jay Z dropped 444, Watch the Throne and Magna Carta. Way more impact full than Eminems albums over the last decade. And stop saying Jay Z was never the best. With the Em GOAT convo you either have delusional em fans saying he’s the bonafide GOAT and nobody else can compete, or you got Em Discreditors who think he’s not even Top 10 (mostly because of his post 2010s run)
But realistically there is no 1 rap GOAT, i think theres about 7 rappers who are in the convo and any one of them could be the GOAT with the legacy they left behind along with the Skill they carry as a rapper.
@@TheStrangeBloke me personally i dont like to use sales because its alot more complex than that especially with Em, but they do play some part in it just very miniscule to me
7? maybe 3 or 4
Yeah for real. I wish actual critique was alive. I dont dislike em, he’s a great rapper but from the things ive heard from him his lines are usually pretty straight forward. Kendrick’s ability have multiple layers for one line is on a different level. Theyre both great but i do prefer kendrick. Jay z can suck butt, he has to jump on other tracks to be relevant.
@@blaineholt1589 I think of everyone Jay-Z's spot is the most tenuous. He's a huge force in the industry but like.... what year was he number one? What album of his is a contender for best of all time?
He’s mocking the haters and praising Kendrick. He’s not mocking
Kendrick. He even said that Kendrick’s diss tracks are unbelievable and left him speechless.
Em wants smoke from Jay. Tupac beefed with Biggie; Jay Z beefed with Nas; Kendrick beefed with Drake. Eminem knows that he needs a big beef to get the crown and MGK, Benzino and Mariah Carey are not going to cut it.
That’s because the only people to get in beef with em are the ones that need it. Everyone else knows it’s a stupid idea, to me that’s more impressive
Drake and Kendrick are peers, no reason to hold back for either of them, they are top contenders for the throne rn
Melle Mel was an inspiration for Eminem, one of his idols, he can't talk down on him because he acknowledges he already learnt the craft from him and they're not in contention for the same throne
@@hadon_that's like saying for example Kendrick can't be compared to Eminem? Like I don't want to downplay Eminem but Kendrick literally says that he was influenced in ems early work there are very interviews from him stating that. For me, current Eminem (in terms of quality art) he ain't beating Kendrick, maybe 1999-2012 eminem could, but not the one we got today (would love to being proven wrong by that slim shady album)
Just because he was inspired of somebody else, don't mean he can't be considered as a legend.

So yup not only is he over rated but not a good soul.
There was a time when he had the most number 1 and top 10 billboard song and albums than any rapper in history. Plus his biggest album Blueprint dropped on 9/11/01. The day the twin towers fell.
