I think one big point was missed. Myles Monroe stated if the motivation to getting up everyday is money then you are putting money first. How many of us only getting up bc we have to work. How often do we get up bc we want to spend time with God first before anything we do. God should always be the motivation of over money.

Everything is not the devil. We make choices that are against God, and we're made in his image, and his power is within us. We're not going to scapegoat accountability to the devil, though he is pleased by our sin.

Sometimes I wonder how much the people who get on UA-cam and make these podcasts talking about the word of God actually read the word of God, pray for discernment, understanding and knowledge, and search the scriptures for the answer.

We give the devil, waaaaaaay too much credit. Our desire is greater than anything the devil can do. There's nothing that pushes our desire, more than money. Lust of the world is what drives the love for money. 1 John 2:16-17. The reason the love of money, is stronger than the devil, is because money is the way we fulfill our lusts. Satan only roots for us to give in to our lusts. The devil can't give us any thing. He only gave Eve a lie, that agreed with her own lusts. The devil didn't have power over her, he lied ot her, but it agreed with her lust. At that time, what she wanted did not take money, all she had to do was eat. But, now, most sin, takes money. Therefore, our lust are bought with the money. So, we love money, and will offend God to have it. Satan just creates the environment to foster our lust, so that we keep chasing money, to get our lust. It's all that is in the world...Lust. Lust leads to the love of money.

@aaronbrooks4091 We ar spirits housed in a physical body, therefore we are governed by spirit. There is a spiritual realm and spiritual basis that is involved in all that we do. We can either be motivated by good (God) or evil (devil).

They create an atmosphere, to foster evil. They can’t make you do anything. They can attempt to persuade you. The enemy uses money to make people fall, to make them turn/be distracted from God.
Poor people are also afflicted by the devil. Money is not more dangerous than the enemy.
At the root of it this: whatever you focus your heart/mind into, if it rivals your focus on God then it is DANGEROUS.
Sexual perversion is a sin against God because every other sin is done outside of the body. This is the only sin that's against your own body 1 Cor 6:18, and we are temples of the Lord. Which are called to be Holy to be used by God and God alone. Money is a master and people will do anything for it. I agree with Ryan. I think he couldn't elaborate like he wanted to. Money if it master's you replace God on the throne of your heart. You would trade time for money, presence for money, and attention for money. Until you can truly lay it on the alter and say God if you tell me to give it all up and live in a box as long as I have you i will (parable of the rich young ruler). Can you sacrifice it all? People pay for sex all the time rather it's direct or indirect.

Can’t place every evil deed on satan. Evil stems from satan for sure but he lacks omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience to be in control of all evil. He walks about seeking whom he can devour and we go astray due to our lust, and enticed. Glory hallelujah we serve an almighty God!! Amen!!
I think we are leaving the flesh out. Our heart is wicked. We desire things that oppose God. The enemy is not omnipresent. He influences us, but the needs or desires we have drive us.

I sort of agreed with Dr myles, cause satan is a defeated foe already. But he lurks around looking for whom he can devour, so for that alone tells me we are the ones who allowed or give the entry to the devil

Idk if this was already said, but my interpretation of this verse is because of the “love” of money, money is considered the root of all kinds of evil. Loving money is akin to worshipping money which leads to doing evil things to acquire it.
Additionally, I do agree that Satan is not as powerful as we make him out to be. I believe we are influenced by our own desires maybe even more than we are tempted by the enemy. Because we are an enemy to God in nature we have to fight to our flesh on the daily.

That passage is actually For the Love of Money is a root of all sorts of evils. The love of money isn’t the root of all evil, I’d argue that pride is.

I said the same thing. This is when I look at stuff like this like we as children of God need to learn to just receive the word. Don’t put money over God was the point being made.
People sacrifice God for money every time they miss service because they are tired from working, or working an extra shift. People will tithe spare change but spend money on their wants. People choose money over God on a daily basis. It’s one of the reasons that separates a Christian from a Kingdom citizen. The goal is to be a citizen and not just a Christian.
Money is not more powerful than the devil. The devil can use money as a weapon to encourage people to idolize it and make it the central purpose of their life instead of God, which causes people to gratify the flesh over the Spirit. That is why we must be aware of how we think and what we give priority to. The enemy is not always direct when he attacks. He can be subtle in his attack and uses the things and people around us to influence.
I get what Dr. Monroe said here regarding money (mastering us), but I have to disagree that it trumps the evil idiot satan's (sml 'd' on purpose) evil schemes. For true, the love of money is the root of all evil. 1 Tim 6;10, but God's infallible word also tells us in Ecclesiastes 10;19 that A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things. In lay terms money talks! All that to say though. I think whatever is in one's heart (broke or paid) money has a way of revealing it. If a person is kind, free-hearted, and compassionate when they have less. They will operate in that when they have more.👍🏾💵🙂

Money only holds the power you give it. Money is a resource and tool that can be used for good or evil. It's your pick. Just like sex isn't bad in the context of marriage, it becomes a sin when it is used to fornicate or commit adultery. Food is necessary, but over indulgence and lack of self-control can lead to gluttony, which is a sin.
If we could blame everything on Satan why do we need Christ? Why were we punished? Because MAN disobeyed God. Ultimately it is our flesh. The word says the Love of money is the root of ALL evil, and we can’t change that. This discussion whether we agree or disagree is pointless in my opinion.

I would liken the love of money to idolatry. We can say money is used for all kinds of evil but shouldn't that want us as followers of Jesus want to accumulate a larger share of the money to help fight evil?

Satan cannot FORCE you to do ANYTHING, it is US giving PLACE to him and the place we give him or ANY sin is from that SOURCE. Satan tried to tempt Jesus (stupidly) with power and riches. Money did try to tempt Jesus with Satan.
I think the clue lies in the words "the love of money". That has to be idolatry right. Money being your God, doing all you can to get it. The problem arise when God tells you to do one thing that goes against your love of Money.

So we have a problem here… He is true and what he says about how money can drive us. But the context of the scripture in which he used is wrong. JESUS didn’t say the only two things you can serve is God and money. The context of the scripture was storing up treasure. He is having a conversation about your treasure or wealth so he makes the reference that if you let it (wealth) become your master, you cannot serve God. He’s not saying there are no other masters.

The text is certainly speaking of all kinds, all sorts, all evil but I respectfully don't believe Dr. Munroe is correct in this assertion because we have this one verse, 1Timothy 6:10 and Matthew 6:24, two verses on which we are attempting to build a doctrine that money is our worst enemy, when we have so many other verses speaking about our adversary the devil and our flesh being enemies not only for us, but also enemies of God. "The math ain't mathing." No disrespect to Dr. Munroe.

When you start off saying “the devil is not our enemy” you are In cahoots with The devil. Myles Monroe was part of the “Word of Faith” movement coming out of Oral Robert’s university I used to listen to him at first but after a while I was like he’s a motivational speaker mixing Jesus into his script. This is not biblical teaching I was cool after hearing him speak it was not biblical or spirit led. The very thing that Myles was talking about his peers n elders are actually doing Kenneth Hagin, Copeland,Benny hinn, etc… the list goes on! “Health, wealth, n prosperity” is their matto n their doctrine.
Myles Monroe was a Word Faith preacher. One should be able to understand spiritual warfare. There is a difference between the physical natural world and the spiritual world. Temptation comes from who? For what purpose? .... One should not expect a Word Faith Prosperity preacher to rightly handle the Word of God. Word Faith theology is not Christianity. The Word Faith Prosperity Movement is an occult movement that has infiltrated the Church.

Money is like gate that grants people access to do evil. The love is not really about the tool because the tool is neutral. Your will decides that. But the tool gives you access to do whatever your will desires. The different reasons people are influenced to do evil stem from the temptation that that Satan presents them, and is reflection of their own hearts.
