I thought this was gonna show me how to stretch it. I have a 6 7/8 - 7 1/4 that looks great but gives me headaches. The next size up looks entirely way too gigantic in my head. They really need some in-between sizes or a way to loosen them up easily.
Slowly pull on the elastic, but not too hard, you'll tear the stitching. Take time, I've done it a lot. I rushed my last one and it's new and needs minor repair now, but it's rare and $$, so don't rush and don't slap your brim like this guy does. I was looking for a maybe a steam and leave style of doing this, hopefully there's a way. Almost considered deflating a childs ball similar to my head size, then inflating it 1/4" bigger for a few days and see if that works. I'm open to options, no shame in trying. Same as you, bill size is perfect, but too tight and size up looks huge on my head. Don't use a warm cloth, might change the color. Anyway hope it works.
Buy a plastic ball, and a pump. Then take the deflated ball and put it on the hat, and pump it up to the desired width of your hat to fit your head. Use sewing tape to make sure it's the correct dimensions of your head. Leave the ball in the hat for a week, and then deflate the ball, and voila.
I prefer snapback hats. They just fit better and you can never go wrong. Also, why didn't you try one on to see how it fits you? That would have been very helpful in deciding how the fit would realistically be.

thing about elastic is that they will always stretch out over time and use.

Plus on hot days your head doesn't sweat much. That's the reason I hate fitted hats and don't buy them anymore.
