You may be able to register it in CA but it might require inspections. We can instead register it out of state. We would just need photos of the documents that you currently have. You can email them to sales@dirtlegal.com and we can review them.

Hey brother I am trying to buy a kit car 1965 Shelby cobra from a dealer out of state. The dealer is in Charlotte and I live in California. But the dealer won’t sell the car to me because they said I need to provide them a kit car voucher from my local dmv otherwise they won’t sell the car to me. Because supposedly California only allows 500 kit cars per year to be registered. I already called the dmv and said there in no such thing as vouchers. Any suggestions I I should do? Yes, we can title and register it for you without inspections as long as there is a VIN or Serial Number on the frame.

As long as there's a VIN or serial number on the frame we can use the bill of sale to register and title it for you.

With the vehicle being in NZ, we aren't able to advise on their regulations as we as a US based company.
