When He sings after that it's raw emotion, he's channeling whatever bullshit happened and it becomes real. the new one feels like he's' trying to recreate this moment but four years do alot to tame emotions.
I don’t know if it makes sense, but I like this a bit better because in the official song, he sounds a little too perfect. In this, it’s like he’s reliving the circumstances that led to the creation of the song, it sounds more emotional.
I can imagine how nice he would’ve felt after that opening verse, singing that emotional part then looking out and seeing thousands of people clapping and cheering for you. What a feeling

Just saw him when he came to Vancouver - his energy was amazing, he left everything on the stage. He really poured his heart out. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to.
