Thank you so much for taking the trouble to show us how this thing fits together - or rather, comes apart! It's just awful that all this costly equipment is meant to go to landfill after it has a wee problem. I only wish you'd shown us how to get the tape connector for the scanner back in place!
Thank you. Yeah, unfortunately when I do a disassembly video, I do not think much about showing how to reconnect things or put back. I understand some connections are simple slide in place, others have a small clamps and those clamps can be different as well. I will keep that in mind in future videos and try to point those little things out. Once again, thank you so much for your support and for the suggestion. Have a great day!
Thanks a bunch, the time to view this was well worth it for the results. I was getting a paper jam display with no visible paper in the mechanism and could not go any further. I figured it was worth a shot to check inside for other issues. Although the video did not describe problem solving issues just getting this apart would have been a much bigger challenge. I got my XP-440 apart, found the problem (a part interacting with a detection switch on the circuit board that must have been bent removing a paper jam), and all is well.
Is heartwarming to see someone other than me bumblefucking around w/ this thing. It works just like you show too... doesnt matter how much finesse you try it will stick together until it decides not to, then come gracefully apart like it wasnt ever a difficulty. Also, that left side screw was on purpose to upset me.
Thank you for this. I'm currently really struggling to refit a flat ribbon cable back to the ink tank holder on an Epson XP425 as it's in the most awkward position and I'm not very technical so this vid helps massively! Many Thanks!
Can you finish tearing it down completely. the head pads that sit directly under the head assembly and the head cleaner mechanism. There's a pad underneath it also.
Update: Thanks to your video I was successful in removing the left side panel and scanner cover so I could access the wires for my faulty display panel. The connections seemed tight, but still display not working. If I can get a replacement panel I will need to reassemble what I've taken off and herein lies my question for today: Where does the cover wire get connected? Like you, despite my best efforts, the cover's wire got disconnected. Not sure where that gets plugged back in. Would you please explain.... Thank you!
One last question I promise! Have you seen issues with the control panel not working on the xp310? I haven't used it much and have kept in the box as well. Suddenly it just stopped working. Lights up, but nothing there :(. What do you think is the cause of this issue? Is it possible that the wire isn't properly positioned or maybe came loose somehow? Not sure how/why that could have happened, it's not like I've been using the printer as a football or anything. "Here, catch! It's an Epson"!!!
Can some body please give me some advice . The white cable that was attached to the carriage, the 1 shown in this video has come off, and I cant get it back on. Any advice please. Their is not much room to attach it as the carriage is still attached to the unit. Thanks
Hi I have a part that was randomly in a box with a printer I bought a XP-65 if I sent a photo could you possibly take a look and see if you can see where it might go, please let me know how I can contact you big thank you
Actually I have another question. My screen is not working at all, so I wanted to take the printer apart to see if there's a loose connection that needs tightening before attempting to replace the part. Will I be able to test out the screen if I've taken everything apart up to the point of taking out the screen/control panel, or does the printer need to be reassembled in order to test it out? Thanks!
Hello, I have a question regarding my Epson XP442 printer: The printer prints, but the sheets in the paper tray are clamped by such a movable little arm that the printer cannot pull/take the sheets. I thought about tearing the little thing off, but it is necessary because it detects whether there are sheets in the tray or not. What can I do?
I have an epson ET m1120 ECOTANK. I want to seek the following solution. I would like to replace the inkt inside with special stencal inkt. How could I proceed to remove the existing inkt in the ecotank and fill it with the special stencil inkt? I think that I should see if i can remove the tank and turn upside down, if possible. What I have tried so far is insering a seringe to see if i could vacum the inkt out. But the needle wont go through, and I dont want to force it. Any advice and suggestions are welcome.
Hi. I do not think that you can remove the tanks, maybe you can, but I never tried. The only thing I can possibly help with is getting to the ink cartridges. I'm sorry I'm not much help. This is the video: ua-cam.com/video/ep2XF_mv5Mk/v-deo.html
Hello Does anyone know how to plug the cable that goes in the back of the printer carriage, I have an epson XP-434 and I unplugged the cable but is too difficult to plug it back
Gi. No, there is no battery on this printer. Maybe a tiny one on a logic board, usually never needs to be replaced. This printer needs to be plugged in to operate.
Hi. Best is to search the printhead with your printer model. for example "Epson XP-400 printhead" or "XP400 printhead". I do not know the part number for this printhead, but I found this listing. It is not mine and I have not bought from them. www.ebay.com/itm/202663047946 Most are going to be from China, about 2-3 weeks delivery.
Im having problems with the feeder, when it goes to print, it gets the paper but then says paper Jam error and spits it out (when it spits it out the bottom portion of the paper is crunched up)
@@lisavincent428 No I did not. I tried everything but wasn't able to get a fix... I had to get a new printer. I really liked that Epson though cause of the Scanner and Copier... Now I just got me a normal "Brother" printer.
I have an XP-420 that immediately displays a “0x60” error when turned on and asks to be shut off. After taking it apart, I did find one small plastic piece rattling around by the printhead; it is L-shaped, black, very small with one outer side covered with a small reflective sticker or metal. I can’t seem to find the part anywhere online. Does anyone know what it is? I suspect this is causing the issue but don’t even know where to begin. Thanks!
Usually something inside the printer will trigger that error. Remove loose part and see if problem goes away. It can be a broke off piece of structural part of the printer and may not negatively reflect on printer functionality.

That's great! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks it looks just like the xp-405 which I will be taking apart now :)
Excellent .... I did it .... Thank you! 🤭🇬🇧 UK
Thanks you, from this vid i learnt how to change my cartridge chip board :-) Wish i had found this vid in my first hour of searching
You're welcome! Thanks for the feedback. Have a great day!
Good information there just what i needed
Thank you for the video; I was actually able to repair my printer.

Do you happen to have a video that shows how to re-assemble the printer?
Do you know if the xp-340 shares the same printhead as the xp-330?😊
Hi. Yes, XP-330 and XP-340 printheads are same.

Currently having this same issue and about ready to give up... were you able to reconnect it?

How do you remove the entire cartridge cage? I've accidentally pulled out the tiny cable from the rear of it, and can't get it back in.
I have the same problem, did you find a solution?

Once the ribbon wire from the document cover lid disconnects from the bottom, is there a way to reconnect it?
Hi. Yes, all wires should be able to reconnect to board. There shouldn't be any soldered wires. Some connections have a clamp, check closely
@@303electronics got it. Thank you!

Life saver!
has the printer got any lithium battery? thanks

You can tell this is not your first time taking apart the Epson XP-340 printer. Thank you for making this video.
@@muxallopeniot9194 thank you!!!
Thanks God the white strip fall off because thats what happened to me and i find this video to repair it 😓😓😱😱😖😖😖😖
So... basically you have to take the WHOLE thing apart to get to the control/ display panel, huh?! Not for the faint of heart that's for sure :(
Not so easy to take apart! I guess Epson figures you'll just throw it away after some frustration and buy a new one, right?!!!
como romper tu impresora en pocos pasos jaja
That works too. Thanks for watching!
Y bother its grief
