    Hey John just found your channel, great content. I am looking at doing the MABDR and the NEBDR, I have a JTR as well and was wondering if these trails are doable in our vehicles, they website for BDR is geared toward sport bikes so I can't really get a bead on if the trails are too small or not suitable for our trucks. Can you give me some insight on your journey. The MABDR seems to be more favorable and I didn't see anything that our trucks couldn't get through. I am just not too sure about the NEBDR. I would watch all your videos to get my answer but that a lot of content. However, I will continue watching at a slower pace. Thanks for your work!

      Hey thanks for checking out my channel and subscribing. I can definitely say that sections 1-3 on the NEBDR is clear to go in your Gladiator. I do know that some of the later sections are 2 wheel only and are marked to communicate that. I can’t speak to the MABDR, but I have heard that it is easygoing. Let me know your dates if you’re interested in meeting up on the NEBDR. If I am not working, would love to get out. Cheers and enjoy the adventure. JK

    Great video, love the old covered bridges, you should see the covered bridge in Hartland NB, Canada - it is the longest in the world at 391m (1282') seven spans. I love driving the old trails like the ones in this video, beautiful area.

    Where is that campsite at minute 8? I am planning on hitting this route in a few weeks and am having trouble finding spots to camp.

      Hey EOJ, I found a spot on Vly Mountain. I would suggest making certain that you check out what area is State land and what is private. Best of luck and enjoy the trip. Cheers!

    Hey John, just checking in. Hope you are doing well these days. We know how difficult it can be to find the time to travel, record, edit, and even find the motivation to do the above. This message is not a request for anything more than 👍to let me know you are ok. Take care!😁

      Hey Ken! Good to hear from you. Hope you enjoyed your summer and thank you for reaching out. I started a new job back in April and have been quite busy. A day does not go by that I don't wish I was out on a trip to make another video. Appreciate you following along and I HOPE to get out this fall to share something new. I will also make sure that I include a cooking seen just for you. Cheers my friend.

      @@StormKingExpedition congratulations on your new job! I hope it is bringing you all that it promised. I have difficulty finding the time to edit. My second shift job pulls a lot of time away from me too. We have plenty of footage to last into October, (at my rate of editing and publishing) just need to sit down and get it done. Our summer was very good and HOT! Best wishes to you for safe travels and Great health!!

    Great video! John, can an ordinary SUV with 4x4 make it through that BDR route? Or would you need extra big tires and a lot of ground clearance? I didn't know automobiles could drive those routes. Thanks in advance.

    • @StormKingExpedition
      @StormKingExpedition  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi Victor, I would say that about 95% of the route could be done with a standard AWD or 4wd vehicle in Dry conditions. I found that the wet and muddy roads made for some really challenging conditions that were not easily visible until you were sinking in the mud. I would start by sticking to routes that show up as roads on Google Maps and take caution to posted closed road signs. You will still get to have a really fun trip with beautiful views of the area. Thanks for watching.

      @@StormKingExpedition thanks John, but, are any of the roads that show up on google maps dirt roads that lead to secluded backwoods areas like the ones on your video? Your videos are full of amazing spots, that's why I ask.

    So, are you crossing Alot of private property along section 2 from Andes? Love to run this section in my gladiator as well. I love in the Kingston area it's just a short ride to Andes. Thanks for the informative video love the channel!

    • @StormKingExpedition
      @StormKingExpedition  25 днів тому +1

      Hey @vinboughton4751 thanks for checking out my channel. Some people seem to believe that sections of these BDR’s are crossing private land, but they are all public access areas. Technically they are roads. Many bordering owners try and put up signs that say Keep Out, etc… but they are simply trying to be a deterrent. I also highly recommend you trying a free trial of an app like ONX or Gaia. This allows you to see the property records with owner names as you travel across the map. Thanks again and have a great fall.

      @StormKingExpedition  24 дні тому +1

      @@vinboughton4751 follow this link ridebdr.com/nebdr/ and click on download the GPS Tracks on the device that you plan to bring on the trip. I used my IPhone with the ONX app. This allowed me to view the route on the map. I also downloaded for offline maps. You will definitely need this as you will have no cellular signal at points along the route. Section 2 starts in Andes, NY and ends in Copake Falls, NY. Hope this helps Vin. Don’t hesitate to reach out again if you need more details. Curious as to when you plan ongoing?

      @@StormKingExpedition We are doing good. Hope y’all are as well. We have a few mountain trips planned over the next few months. Headed up to Tennessee next weekend for an overland/camping event so we are looking forward to that. Hard to get too far away from home over the summer because of the work schedule, so we try and take as many long weekends as we can and get out in the backcountry.
