  • Egypt, Cairo: the pyramids are a disaster full of scammers, the city hotels are getting worse, and the beaches are inaccessible, but there might be a solution to bring tourists back to Egypt... bad tourist experiences in Egypt are so common, this country needs to fix it.

Very nice video, Michele. Wow! It's crazy to hear that the hotels in Cairo are advertising old pictures to deceive customers. I agree with you about the bathroom situation. Thank you for sharing your visit to Egypt. I enjoyed watching 👍👍👍

That's one of my dreams, but your government makes it difficult to obtain the visa and flights are expensive, but I am considering it a lot

I get your point, indeed its treu that in Egypt you may encounter situations which you are not comfortable with, it might be because of cultairal differences, different hygenic standards and more. But i have to say that Egyptians are extremely kind, generous, that its very safe and very affordable, its more affordable then ever now since the currency devaluation. But tourists should definitely do their research before visiting Egypt, to know what they will get into. Of course i understand that my experience is different since i am living in Egypt and i do speak Arabic. But i would encourage eveyone to visit Egypt :)

Sig. Ponte - I for one appreciate your honesty, and factual statements on what you encountered in Egypt, or for that matter any other country you’ve visited in the past! As you stated, tour books, or online pictures can be very deceiving. Old and false. Knowing what to expect, and having first hand accurate information before any trip will help to ensure a fun and pleasant time. Hopefully without incidents. Regardless of the topic of conversation, honesty is always the best policy for all!

The Pyramids are a must see, but the conditions are terrible. It is a very unfortunate situation that could be fixed.

Offering three different price points allows the poor to survive, somehow. Poverty is the root of all evil. If Europeans, with their incredibly high salaries by local standards, paid the same prices as locals, locals would lose all ability to buy anything. No one will sell cheap when they can sell expensive.
Furthermore, cultural institutions might be subsidized by the government, meaning they are funded by taxes from these people. Therefore, locals have the right to enjoy them at a lower cost, as they have already paid a portion of it through their taxes.

I proposed a solution: 1 day per month for free like we do in Rome.
And most Europeans work the entire year to spend 2 weeks in Egypt, most people are far from being Rich
