OMG!! I've been watching a thousand videos about this, and this is the only one with logic and easy to understand. This video deserves to be seen by many ESL students !!!Thank you so much!!!
The best and easiest way to teach to non native speakers the "ed" pronunciation is to teach them first the phonetic symbols that is the sounds in English. Learners have to know when to pronounce the "ed" / t/, /Id/ or /d/. We pronounce it. / t/ when the verb end with the final sounds /f/, /k/, /p/, /s/, /ch/ , /tch/. It is pronounced /id/ when the final sounds of the verb are /t/ or /d/. It is pronounced /d/ when the verb ends with any other sound apart from those already mentioned above. Ex: /v/, /n/, /b/ etc ...
Actually the way of teaching you suggested is the way that most of us have been tought. I must say it is an awful teaching as it force us to memorize the rules (beside already so many grammar rules) without understand the underlying why and get feeling of the language naturally. Yes it is the easier way for the teachers but not for the learners.
Bravo! I am a born English speaker who needed to explain why these 3 different pronunciations exist to a learner of English. I failed miserably. Now I know. Thanks.
This is a common error for us, Brazilian people, in a most time we pronounce "Id"sound for every word in the past, but now i can understood mor clearly. Thank you so much for this video.
thank you very much, i was very interresting and i enjoyed very much, keep on teaching us, it's very good lesson for beginner like me,thank you,God bless You👍👍👍😍😍😍👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏RESPECT
This is definitely the best video on d, t, id sounds. The explanation is simple and clear. It has the colors, arrows, the organization. Bravo! It is so well organized. Also, you get to practice. I subscribed right away and shared. Thank you so much.
Thumbs up for this video and it's creators. I watched a couple of videos but I couldn't understand what they are explaining.Maybe it is the way they are teaching. But in this video the explanation is clear like the water. Another subscriber here. Thanks!
Thank you so much!!! I thought that it will be more difficult to understand but now, watching this video, I can say that is not, you really explained it really good!
'ed pronunciation' was really tricky and difficult to understand for me . now I can walk a step. And i will watch it over and over :) thank you so much :))
I'm glad it has helped! (ed) pronunciation is probably the hardest pronunciation to master in English but with time and practice it becomes more natural I promise!
My English Brain .. Hi I want to say that I love this lesson right now I'm trying to improve my pronunciation with ed and this lesson is great..I was thinking to ask you .. are you giving lessons on private on Skype because I would love to learn from you ?😊

Hello, my dear friend The video is very interesting and it is very useful for teaching with it, however I have a doubt with the pronunciation of some verbs whose last sound is "T", because is easy when the last sound is "D", for instance you say the sound of the verb "start" in past tense started = (stardid) so the verb WANT you'd pronounce "wanted" = ( wandid ) I've never hear that expression in that way and it is the first time for me, even if that is the accent right now.
Wow! This is the best video explaining about the ending ED. Thank you so so much for making and sharing this wonderful work. Well done and thank you again.
