It's the same story every year with the Bills: Josh Allen is incredible but the defense blows it every year in the playoffs. Injuries have definitely played a role but by far the biggest concern is they NEVER get off the field on 3rd down right now. 3rd and 12? Give the opponent a 10 yard cushion and watch them pick up 14. Really begs the question what the merit is in having a defensive HC if that side of the ball always vanishes at the most important times. With the Chiefs and Ravens rounding into form, I would be very concerned if I were a Bills fan. If Allen doesn't put on the cape, they're in trouble.
I'm fully anticipating another divisional round exit this season. If you compare the raw talent of the bills compared to any of the other top teams, the bills get blown out of the water
This is a great point. A defensive HC who doesn’t put his team in a position to consistently defeat the offensive play scheme. The easy button plays are way too easy for the team that defeats the Bills. 42, 27, 27 points. The last 3 playoff games points against. That won’t win many games. The offense score 36, 10, 24. Not great but lookup Tom Brady’s record in the playoffs under Def genius Belichick when he score 24 or 36 points. No doubt would have won most games.
Specifically, the Bills invest a TON into their defensive line but the line is never as good as it should be. Oliver vanishes for multiple games at a time. Da'quan has been underwhelming. Von's contract is absurd for his output at this point in his career. Epenesa can make some splash plays but is a liability against the run. Groot has a lot of upside but his first step is anything but explosive, meaning we don't have much of a speed edge rush threat. The depth guys are serviceable but they're depth guys for a reason. Beane constructed this line to allow his defense to play in a base nickel zone while still getting pressure. While it sounds good on paper, we aren't generating a 4-man pass rush and the scheme results in a soft run defense.
it’s a division game in which they were NOT trying to show too much. It’s vanilla schemes.. chess not checkers. And yes they could’ve played better also
Yep. Pretty much this. When the Bills offense is cooking, the play calling looks much different. And from what we've seen of the Bills' receivers, they need help from the play caller to get open. Outside of Coop, the others aren't great at creating their own separation.
The offense for the chiefs hasn't been great, but the defense is excellent. The bills need their offense to perform at a very high level due to the lack of defense.
@@smallpiper2chiefs lean on their defense. The Chiefs offense isn’t very good. It’s just another side of the same coin but people are okay with the chiefs skimming by but not the bills. It is hypocrisy just about 2 different sides of the ball
Offensive line did what they wanted like usual so that always is comforting. Plus NE played man way more than McDermott anticipated which is why Josh couldn’t find open guys all game. They will be just fine.
Josh Allen has been torching man coverage all year. I took two things away from this game, specific to the offense. First, Josh was being a bit reckless and overly aggressive in his decisions, throwing deeper than necessary time and time again. Second, the receivers had a subpar day, struggling to catch the rock-hard ball on those deep passes.
Allen owns Lamar the running back in the playoffs, Allen would never throw a triple coverage pick like a running back. Allen won the mvp last season and it was stolen, and he’s gonna win it again this season.
It's very concerning, they almost lost to the Patriots, after already losing to the Rams. The best team and most relevant team they beat were the Chiefs and got blown out by the Ravens.
I mean, the ravens lost to the browns and raiders earlier in the season, and the chiefs barely win 80% of their games. A win is a win a loss is a loss. That's what separates the good and bad teams
The Bills not that good imo. They have only beat 1 AFC playoff team. The defense is bad and the offense is one dimensional. Mirror image of Steelers offense with a better QB. Take the running backs away and they can’t score outside of moon balls
@ bro did you watch their last game? And that was against a team with no pass rush. It’s going to be a dog fight with every team they play what it’s looking like to me. This game against the Jets going to tell us a lot about the Bills.
@jasonmahr5397 🤣🤣 keep glazing 3rd and 16 isn't unmanageable. Also if the defender kneed it "like he should've" or took it for 6 was it still a good decision? Arm punts are on 4th down down you feel like you can throw the pall further than you can punt it. Not on 3rd down.
@@TheSatanicHippie420"3rd and 16 isn't unmanageable" I would like the odds, or what gives you the confidence to say that. It was indeed an arm punt, now arm punts aren't good. There’s is only 1 takeaway from this game: the bills can beat teams running a literal preseason play book 😂

Lamar Jackson. Doesn’t have anything to do with LJ8 but just wanted to let Allen Stans know who daddy is
