You make this look so FUN!! and you make me laugh out loud, I love how open and honest you are about the process, and it's that openness and willingness, to literally go with the flow, which makes you so watchable!
Oh my goodness! You make it look so easy. This is stunning. I've got so much to learn but thank you for providing us with your fantastic tutorials. Determined to keep trying.
I just love this painting and your happy spirit! You make my day with your videos, both with your talent and your joyful attitude. Thanks for all you do for the watercolor community!
I am speechless in watching you work for the first time! I dream of this ability. Beyond words. Thanks so much for sharing your talent and your wonderful humor!
Cracking up laughing! 😆. “ I don’t want to see your cows…Don’t show me your cow paintings! “. LOL …You are such a joy to watch. Thanks for making me laugh….I needed it! Painting is awesome as usual! God bless! - Messy Mendy ❤️🙏🏻🖌🎨🤗
Im sure it will filter back into my art…I work very intuitively, so one never knows what will come out of me next 😂 you’ll just have to stay tuned!! Thanks for watching, be blessed. 💕
I just discovered your videos and I fell in love with them ! really huge big thank you for sharing so generously your art...I am itching of testing this myself and have fun...
I absolutely love how you work! Soo loose and free it’s liberating..Beautiful impressionistic, abstract works..I’m looking but still can’t get me to even attempt to do similar things. But want it badly, just take bunch of paper and paints and play in huge format, what will be will be..Maybe today will be the day I will do my attempt at you’re kind a painting style...will search you’re group just to join and see what you all are up to and deffo will share my first works with you-I bet they will be nothing like yours 😂🤣😂 But I’ll try my best. Thanks a lot for all you’re videos, they are very inspiring and liberating like.Even if I don’t paint near like you my watercolour works have become more free, light, less overworked just from watching you,so thanks a lot for that 💗💐💗💐💗💐💗💐💗
@Marie mcCullough I just tried to paint like her for first time and I must admit that even if it’s nothing so stylish as hers it still came out beautiful and I had way too much fun doing it..it didn’t felt sooo draining as many other art works I have done while trying to reach ,,perfection,,..It felt very uplifting and energising I’m afraid I’ll need much, much more paper to keep practicing this loose style of painting. And other thing to worry now is what I’m gonna do with all my experiments 😂
Hi Debra, I love your fun colore full paintings a lot and I’m going to try. Have no idea what Bokeh means probably not important. Just love what ever colore you are using how it turns out. You are a inspiration to me .I will also turn in to your Facebook . I’m hooked as I said I love the free messy (sorry in a nice way) …….paintings you are doing.❤️❤️❤️
Debra Lyn Rosenbach Watercolor group is so much fun, not like other groups where we never hear about the admin. Thank you Debra for actualy looking at our work and giving your opinion to help us inprove. Plus, you are so prolific, always something happening
Thank you! I know there are some groups that have wonderful moderators and the main artist filters in…but there are also quite a few that are just for posting art and nothing more, and that’s fine too, but I think there are so many of you really needing more one on one time.
Ahhh, i have a good one for you then. Tape several 8 x 11 sheets of water color paper and do something similar to this…practice working in a large free form format. Stand when you do it and get your arm into the acting…just let loose and have fun! Also, a glass of wine helps too with the music cranked up loud! ua-cam.com/video/CLVrxAgH4mg/v-deo.html
Hmmmmhh!!!! Seriously thinking of buying shares in loo roll....lol At a casual glance, I could be looking at Sargent Peppers psychedelic sneeze. Then I look again, and the creation from an unchained mind comes into view. When I watch you at work, there are several times during each video when I think "less is more, stop there, don't spoil it". But in the end I tuck into humble pie, and admit that you're right, and I know nothing... hahaha. I follow an Australian abstract watercolorist. He goes by the name Scott Swinson, but he specializes in landscape, and seascape painting. He's really good. And like when I watch you, I sit and think " less is more" and so on. Yet both you and him produce fantastic paintings. And in both cased, I can allow the images to take me on a daydream, and into the fantasies hidden within my imagination. Music is the only other art form with that ability. And in today's world of not knowing who we can trust and so on. Being led into a world of perfect peace in a painless environment, in needed. Don't I go on. Like a nagging mother in law.....hehehe. Thank you for another great video. TTFN.
Hi Debra, I'm a new sub to your channel, I've already learned so much by watching a couple of videos, I love your flowers. I'm a retired florist but I can't let go of this huge love for flowers. You made me realize that I never had the good watercolor paper. I really want to get the Mijello paints the vibrance is amazing. I visited your amazon shop but they are not available. I looked all around and saw that the price went up a lot. I live in Europe which makes Amazon or Ebay charge me $89 euros only for delivery. Isn't that crazy ! I hope to find a way asap, can't wait to have them. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, God bless your heart. Hugs
Welcome to the channel and thanks for subscribing. I’m glad your learning as you move through the videos. Paper is key, especially with loose watercolor. As for the paint i pulled up this one and the price is fantastic here in the US…check it out, im not sure how the shipping will be for you, but the price is very low for a smaller set of 15ml tubes! I even got myself another set as i work though this paint quickly. Heres the link. amzn.to/3UKojl2
Another beauty! And you've convinced me I need a fan brush (I like the way you used it for those flower centers). I haven't tried one of your paintings yet but would love to join your Facebook group once I do.
Your skills and techniques are amazing. Can you talk about use of water (amount in brush) while painting including how much before using color, when to dab off some on towel, when to use brush right from palette vs dipping in well first etc. I finally started using my squirrel brush and was shocked by how much water was transferred to paper while dipping in white then well to paper. I almost drowned my painting 😂 Maybe I don’t have good squirrel brush. I find I often use too much water. The water part can be confusing.
You’re thinking to technical, the best way is to experiment and do a lot of washes…someone telling you how much water to use if quite difficult to do…plus you could be in a house with the heat in and I’m in humid Florida in the US both of those are quite different and will effect drying time etc.
Debra, I've watched just a couple of your youtube vids and I have to say, you are so much fun! I was wondering if you have considered Patreon? I enjoy your style and your sense of humor. I'm so looking forward to more of your vids, past and future. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! God Bless.
I'm hitting the like button- LOL, anyway love your work and will try this soon and post on the Facebook group! you are almost at 1k Facebook members, yeah! I"ll share this tutorial on my personal FB page too :P
I think any watercolour in tubes is way to go.You can get basic, one single pigment watercolours from White nights(cheaper 3-4£ per tube) basic cadmiums, lemon,Quinacradones, couple Cobalts I would say get from them. Then M Graham’s are my favorite for what I can’t get in White Nights (viridian, cobalt violet, quinacradone rust,Andantrone blue are my favourite from them) Potters pink from Shminke is the best potters pink for me,Lunar black from Daniel Smith is best granulating Black I tried and grate for mixes..Then money you have saved on basic pigment tubes buying from White Nights instead of more expensive brands can be spent on good cotton paper(Khadi are the cheapest) 320gsm is not like arches but very workable once you take a grip on that paper.640gsm is amazing superpaper, love it and price is very good,I buy paper in sheets, comes out cheaper like that) I know I’m not Debra but still hope it can help.As I’m always on budget and really not gonna spend for basic quinacradone Rose,or lemon yellow 3 times more to get from more expensive brands.Paper really makes a huge difference and can become very pricey very fast,I would say before buying basic pigments from expensive brands better spend that money on better paper, that will make huge difference on how watercolour behaves and less really depends on paint.I just look that my paints are single pigment and very lightfast-that’s priority for me and less the brand
Love this! Such a free and liberating way to work! It was wonderful to watch what started looking like a mess become a piece of art.
There’s always that ugly stage when it comes to art! And it’s up to us artist to pull it all together!
You make this look so FUN!! and you make me laugh out loud, I love how open and honest you are about the process, and it's that openness and willingness, to literally go with the flow, which makes you so watchable!
Thanks nice to hear! Glad you’re enjoying my videos.
This painting is fabulous! It was like watching a swirling dance of colors.
Awesome! I’ve been told before I’m good at performance art 😂 …just sit back and watch the show and the paint fly 😂

This is a new favorite! I love the choice of colors and overall effect!
Thanks! It’s one of mine too, it’s very pretty in person. I only wish it was on a whole sheet verses a half sheet of watercolor paper.
Love these colours. Gotta try my ink with water colours. Thank you.
Thank you, enjoy!
Love the way you combat the fear of “not getting it just right.” Perhaps that is why your works have so much life and punch
Yeah, could be because the minute I start over working and overthinking it just doesn’t hit the mark and then ends up at the landfill!
I love it I love it !!!!!
I just discovered your videos and I fell in love with them ! really huge big thank you for sharing so generously your art...I am itching of testing this myself and have fun...
Pretty💜
Thank you so much! I will explore more with the bleed proof white. Still working on my latest. Only a week in. Progress.
