The gold ratchet is intended to use to fasten that "last" bolt or nut in a project that you finally finished that took, way way to long to complete. The anticipation of finally getting to use the gold ratchet that's been patiently waiting in your ratchet drawer pushing you to finally complete the project. It's almost symbolic.
The benefit of the flexible inspection mirror is that you can coil and prop it somewhere on the ground or surface and have it pointed to where you need to see hands free.
Always great to see you two. A nice respite to the daily news. Plus I learn a thing or two along the way... Thanks! And best to all of you, especially your father-in-law.
I have one of the flexible inspection mirror and it is great for getting a mirror around obstacles and into a position which may not have a direct access path.
Be careful if you decide to shave with that knife! When i tested it out i noticed it was rolling up a thin lay of skin cells in front of yhe blade the when i looked behind it i had an area about the size if a dime that blood was starting to osse theough!
I don't like the 1/4 and 3/8 combo extension ratchet. I prefer them to be separated. I've got a cheap Amazon 1/4, 3/8 EZ Red, Pittsburgh 1/2, and 3/4 EZ red all extension ratchets. They are awesome.
I have a big aftermarket visor mirror I keep in my toolbox to give a wider field of view in unassailable areas as well as stick mirrors. I've also started labeling things because I've had some tools 50 years and when I'm carried from my house feet first, I hope my tools and equipment don't get thrown away because someone doesn't know what it is.
Another fun episode - your excitement is contagious To me - that's a Rambo knife!! That's like Sly Stalone had in First Blood. remember when he was living in the woods, running from the small town sheriff? Yeah I do remember Crocodile Dundee also but I always associated that kind of knife with Rambo.....especially since it came with matches, a compass and fishing line.
1.The flex inspection mirror you can wrap around something to make it hands free in case you are using it to do something like thread an awkward position bolt and you decide that line of sight is needed. 2. The gold Ratchet I would consider it a Skill symbol since the only use I can come up with for it is to say I own one OR making a Shadow box display for someone. 3. the 8" blade is functionally a very light use but it covers that primal need for every guy to have their own Rambo knife. 4. this is basically a travel toolbox ratchet as it covers multiple sizes and has it own breaker bar option. 5. the adjustable wrench and that extension is again an attempt at having a built in breaker bar if needed. I have 3 and 4, will likely get 5, but I have no use for 1 since I have a probe camera and I don't work in a field that justifies a ratchet enough to make 2 anything more than a "I own one," purchase
1/2 drive extendable is definitely worth the price. Im a industrial field machinist/bolting tech and ive never had an issue with that ratchet. Broke the end of the handle and easily replaced definitely worth it
The knife crocodile Dundee had was a solid knife I do remember Rambo having a survival knife but his compass was on the outside. By the way new sub and I'm enjoying you guys channel
Yeah the knife would be better associated with Rambo rather than crocodile Dundee. In the movie Rambo he used the compass, and sowed up his arm after being wounded. Both movie knives were similar in size and shape thoug.
If you're working on modern vehicles , that mirror could be a time saver . It's flexibility is an extreme advantage over the straight shaft models . Thanks for another great video !
Jim i loved crocadile dundee, It reminds me more of Rambo first blood, my father bought me a black and camo version w/compass fish hooks, matches still till this day have the black one and a company out of georgia called budk sales items such as the survival knife,a whole website full of weird and cool stuff. Thanks for the video guys, your a hoot! Love what you stand for...May God Bless
I used to own several of the survival knives but got mine t Army/Navy stores.. usually blade took weeks to sharpen but it would cut tree branches with an effort..
I have the 1/2 inch drive extendable ratchet and it is legit. I have used it to break loose the lug nuts on my F350 dually. I also used it to change out the cab mounts on it.
I love the gold-plated ratchets -- I, too am waiting for the half-inch. I've been told it's in the works. I use my quarter-inch to adjust the truss rods in m y guitars -- nice, light-duty work, but I still need a ratchet for it! Great content, guys!
my dad was a mechanic for 44 years, i bought him one of the gold ratchets the day he retired and he loves it, he says it was much better than the "its been good" he got from his boss. i use that extending crescent wrench on well pump housings and a few other things like the automatic cattle watering system i made, great tool for holding larger bolts with
I knew a Chrysler mechanic that would win awards left, right & sideways and the "prizes" were gold plated snap on tools like ratchets, nut drivers 4-set of screw drivers. It's a Rambo knife.
My favorites from Harbor Freight would be the swivel / roto head ratchets. I cut the plastic handle off of the 1/2" and slide a pipe over the end when I really need to motivate something. Also, the PITTSBURGH PRO 1/4 in, 3/8 in. Drive Long-Reach Dual Flex Head Ratchet is amazing and can take a beating too.
Love what yall do keep it up guys you really grew on me. I only watch a few vhannels and this is one of them. Should go through and actual see stuff "made in usa" in harbor frieght theres actually more than i knew
In an engine bay of a lot of new cars, it's hard to see very deep. With the flexible shaft you can fish it down past all the crap to get it where you can see.
The 1/2” Pittsburg expandable ratchet I use all the time to torque down lug nuts. On 1 3/4 ton pickup truck the lug nut would not back off for any reason because someone loctited JB welded and flared the bolt behind the nut, so only using the 1/2” ratchet I tightened the nut until the bolt snapped, no cheater bar used, the stud in 2 pieces so they are strong. That was 7 years ago and I am still using the same ratchet to this day.
I remember in the 80s when survivor knives were popularized by the movie Rambo. All the guys had one and even though it was highly illegal, we'd sneak them into school for no other reason than to see who's was the coolest... Even though they were all practically the same, my Dad had mine sharp as a razor.
I love how you guys are giggling throughout this whole video. I live in a state without a harbor freight. But next time im in one, i gotta buy most of these things
Wile that 8 inch knife looks diabolical and ominous, it's primary purpose is actually for cutting wood. If a fire starter that they also sell can fit in the handle of that knife, that might be quite a good survival item, indeed. You can use it to cut larger pieces of wood by "battoning" the knife. One piece blades are always more reliable than folders. While Multitools are great and you'd certainly want one as well, that large knife is just more robust in every way. Off topic, but a small hatchet is also quite useful. Weight is everything, as is durability in the field, where the tool MUST work without failing. I've been looking for something lighter than a hatchet, maybe a tomahawk as the best solution.
Honestly though, how big is the adjustable wrench compared to a non telescopic one? HF sells 18 and 24 inch ones, it’s probably smaller than those. I think I’d find a use for it.
Guys love the video I've seen the 22:37 extended ratchet mabe some clearance issues. I have the knife and some guy was threatening me in my car as soon as I showed him the knife all his threatening stopped I'm glad to have it as well I believe in the 2nd ammendment
The DoD (government) would go for the gold plated ratchets in a heartbeat, however the price would have to be much, much higher. They would match those gold plated hammers and toilet seats we have been paying for.
That is a knock off of the Rambo movie knives.
He said crocodile Dundee...
The knife is more Rambo than Crocodile Dundee
Lol
The gold ratchet is intended to use to fasten that "last" bolt or nut in a project that you finally finished that took, way way to long to complete. The anticipation of finally getting to use the gold ratchet that's been patiently waiting in your ratchet drawer pushing you to finally complete the project. It's almost symbolic.
I like that explanation!
Good point
Now I want to buy one 😂😂
Man, now I have to buy one to give my projects the golden touch.
These guys are idiots and probably can't read your comment.😂
Everyone wanted that knife😮
Because of Rambo 👍
Crocodile Dundee 😂
Love the wholesome content! Yall should do a video of the must have items under $10 from Harbor Freight
Thanks my friend
Thanks we will soon
Thank you for sharing this video. I really enjoy your videos ❤❤
Thanks
Thanks we really appreciate it

Thanks for watching
Good idea!

Thanks buddy
It’s good to always be a kid at heart!
Yes
I know
That’s not a knife….🔪
This is a knife 😂
Yes!!!! Lol
lol
Seriously it's not Crocodile Dundee, that is a Rambo knife. Very popular in the 80's.
@@lclk6156 First Blood yep Rambo's knife was bigger 10 inch or more
Craftsman did a range of gold tools at one time.
I love y'alls chemistry, you're just so happy to be hanging out together and hilarious.
I have the 1/4 3/8 drive extendable ratchet and love it. Extend out for extra leverage. The huge adjustable is a gimmick. I love that knife
I love the knife also
We agree
You guys are awesome keep up the great job
Thanks
I have one of the flexible inspection mirror and it is great for getting a mirror around obstacles and into a position which may not have a direct access path.
Thanks for watching
Rambo had that knife. Dundee had a Bowie knife..you guys are great
Thanks buddy
Crocodile Dundee had a regular Bowie knife Rambo used the survival Bowie.
I have the adjustable wrench one used it to take the hydraulic cylinders off of excavator boom
You guys are very entertaining and wholesome, God bless!
Thank you buddy, God bless you
Awesome shirts
Love the show. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
The crescent wrench is the weirdest
I❤️tools
The adjustable wrench would be great in my tractor tool box.
I’m interested in that kobalt blower you had in the back ground on the tool box😊
Be careful if you decide to shave with that knife! When i tested it out i noticed it was rolling up a thin lay of skin cells in front of yhe blade the when i looked behind it i had an area about the size if a dime that blood was starting to osse theough!
Oh wow
Gold ratchet is a gift item for an old mechanic as he/she retires
Good idea
The knife is based on the movie Rambo
The adjustable...adjustable...would be good for tie rods n tie rod ends.

Hey guys, I love your videos. They are so entertaining and I just got one of your keychains!
Thanks my friend
Thanks buddy, it’s heading your way

I’m going to get one
We need to get one
The knife crocodile Dundee had was a solid knife I do remember Rambo having a survival knife but his compass was on the outside. By the way new sub and I'm enjoying you guys channel
Now thats a nice shirt i love it. Im gonna have to get me one. Nice video man👍
That extendable adjustable wrench would make an excellent truck weapon.
Lol
I would say as a Special Gift
crocodile dundee did not have a knife like that... rambo did. dundee's knife is a bowie knife
The bendy mirror works to get the mirror in place while keeping your arm out of the way. Tight places require thinking inside the box.
We could see that
Yeah the knife would be better associated with Rambo rather than crocodile Dundee.
This is what I'm thinking. Sometimes you have to snake the mirror into and around engine components from the side, then look from the top.
Good point. Thanks

I used to own several of the survival knives but got mine t Army/Navy stores.. usually blade took weeks to sharpen but it would cut tree branches with an effort..
I would buy the gold ratchet in 3/8 and definitely get the extended crescent wrench
Do your things guys nothing but respect 🙏 ✌️
Thanks
I have the 1/2 inch drive extendable ratchet and it is legit. I have used it to break loose the lug nuts on my F350 dually. I also used it to change out the cab mounts on it.
We need to get it
Ok if the flex mirror could be attached to a magnetic base then it be actual usefully
O have the rachet as well. I was skeptical as well but it works well.
Thanks
It works great
I love the gold-plated ratchets -- I, too am waiting for the half-inch. I've been told it's in the works. I use my quarter-inch to adjust the truss rods in m y guitars -- nice, light-duty work, but I still need a ratchet for it! Great content, guys!

Thanks, can’t wait till the 1/2 one
Your videos are great!
Thanks
Thanks we appreciate it
When I was young I took a survival knife like that and mounted a small telescoping fishing pole in the hollow handle. Very handy.
Thats awesome
my dad was a mechanic for 44 years, i bought him one of the gold ratchets the day he retired and he loves it, he says it was much better than the "its been good" he got from his boss. i use that extending crescent wrench on well pump housings and a few other things like the automatic cattle watering system i made, great tool for holding larger bolts with
Thanks
used the wrench on the clutch fan nut. worked great. and tie rods.
Thanks
Good to know thanks
If you are going to get the Croc Dundee for a survival kit, replace those matches with typhoon matches.
The extending handle adjustable HUSKY also.makes but have been unable to find at any home depot
We didn’t know they had one
I knew a Chrysler mechanic that would win awards left, right & sideways and the "prizes" were gold plated snap on tools like ratchets, nut drivers 4-set of screw drivers. It's a Rambo knife.

Tool reviews are good but would much rather see the Chevy truck or nova or Camaro being worked on and being fixed 👍👍👍
Soon to come
We will be very soon

You can make the Rambo knife a lot more sturdy if you epoxy and pin the blade to handle.
I remember in the 80s when survivor knives were popularized by the movie Rambo. Waiting for the extendable extensions to become a thing.
That would be funny
Fire fire 🔥
That adjustable wrench might be useful for steering components.
I may have to pick up the mirror and wrench on my next visit to hf.
You guys are the best! “No wonder my mom never let me have one of these!” Lol
Thanks buddy
Lol
That part where that guy tried to rob him when he went to New York That not a knife mate now that’s a knife and he pulls his knife out
The gold ratchet needs a whole set to accompany it so you can gift the mechanics that served the company well.
We agree
I have the Pittsburgh extending tool to get a clutch fan off ! Worked like a charm with the rubber end
I have that adjustable ratchet and it works pretty well
It’s a good one
It’s great
I love how you guys are giggling throughout this whole video. I live in a state without a harbor freight. But next time im in one, i gotta buy most of these things
Love the video
Thanks
Merch is fire
That Crescent I use to take and change ball hitches
Good point
I have the 3/8s 1/4 extendable....very useful for some extra torque...I can see where the extendable adjustable has a use also
Awesome video!!!

Craftsman also did a b gold plated rachet celebrating an anniversary
We have a gold craftsman ratchet
I got the icon knife the other day and was shocked at how sharp it is right away
Thanks
Cool tools
They are

New drinking game. Every time they say weird, do a shot from your Harbor Freight shot glass.
Thanks for watching

Yes

I would like to see one weekend trip with nothing but harbor freight equipment.
The DoD (government) would go for the gold plated ratchets in a heartbeat, however the price would have to be much, much higher. They would match those gold plated hammers and toilet seats we have been paying for.
Lol
That gold ratchet, anybody walking through the shop/office with it in hand or sticking out of a pocket and I would know it was mine.
Thats right
We want hoodiea
Cool video
Thanks
Great video, enjoy watching you guys so much. It is a great thing you are doing for the school, Are you located in Knoxville Tenn?
I always see those gold plated ratchets when I go into Harbor freight. I still don't know why they sell them.
Lol
They are cool
That mirror would be perfect to look at inside of weld in pipe around 90 to inspect root pass thru unwelded section neat for a welder
I need a gold ratchet after that!
Lol
It’s awesome
Rambo knife not a crocodile Dundee knife
I would love to buy a gold ratchet😊😊😊
maybe changing your ball hitch
Maybe a gold ratchet for retirement or something like that ?
Yes
