- Correction: Playing The Flute not only to his cat, but to the whole wide world…
In April Ian Anderson, MBE, the British Scottish-born frontman and flautist of Jethro Tull, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his band!
He has quite something to flute, sorry, to tell - in this heart-to-heart talk.

Brilliant musician and artist
One of the bands that made the world listen to the good music!
Another reason to love this man.....💜
I really respect Ian's charitable work with the cats and the cathedrals ... magnificent animals and magnificent buildings ... may they last forever. Also, his former support of the salmon industry in Scotland. A rock start with a brain that is socially responsible! Love him!
That is why I am learning flute now, after that I ba e learnt the guitar 🤗 💕
Good luck
"Is your cat obese" Perfect question to ask Ian Anderson
I think the Hendrix and Clapton thing went over their heads
When Andrew Lincoln was on Conan, he said Ian has one h3ll of an arsenal! I like it.
I've just ordered a flute because I want to play it like Ian. He comes from the same town as me and has always been one of my favourite musicians/composers My absolute dream is to meet him one day. I met Freddy Mercury and Brian May when they came to my uni. I drank a bottle of wine with Lemmy when he played with Hawkwind and I lived opposite Pete Agnew of Nazareth when he lived in Dunfermline. Hopefully, one day...
He comes from the same town as me. Are you older then he is?
@@johnjacobs1625 No, I'm younger than he is. Do you come from Dunfermline?
@@williamgeorgefraser Ah no, He comes from the same town as me............ made me think you were there first. Sorry my bad. Actually I'm from Chambersburg Pa USA....... 25 miles from Gettysburg. Cheers!
Top bloke!
Typical ignorant interviewers. It is a shame that they don't know IA. What they have missed is and extraordinary man and musician.
I hate to see some people get old and he is one of them... if I stood next to him in a coffee shop I would not have known that was Ian Anderson
Sure. Now go to hell, stupid youngman. Ian Anderson couldn't be present in any coffee shop. He's SCOTTISH. Scottish people prefer tea, not coffee. Don't you know this fact? ... And if you didn't know the fact - Ian Anderson is a legend. You are nothing.
It's fun to think about that his son in law is Rick from The Walking Dead
Wtf is that true?!
2:50 - that lovely young lady is expressing an inordinate interest in Ian's rotting codpiece!
She is beautiful.
If only other stars followed Ian’s lead nice intelligent guy.
Ian is quite patient with the rest of peasantry😉
I think the male interviewer actually thinks Ian's name is Jethro. :D
I NAMED MY ELDEST SON iAN
¿Podrían subtitularla?, no entendí una chota.
The ol’ Mexican standoff
Once again these 2 presenters, particularly the woman, show themselves as out of their depth having made little or no research and dumbing down the interview to "what makes you happy" and "so you wrote an album for your cat?".
A perfect example of why I stopped watching BBC Breakfast.
2:28 - who are these folks? I recognize Mick Abrahams, but the others ... is Ian even in that shot? Is this Mick's old, new band or what? The guy in the hat looks a little like Ian, but he is rather swarthy and Ian is not. WTH????
Not sure how this muthafucka won best Metal album
The song was good and got FM radio airplay.
Ha ha you needn't be..
