    13:00 Instead of testing numbers, think of it like this: The function increases by 24% for every x increase of 5. Since we're asked about an increase of x by 10, which is double that, we square the factor: (1.24)^(10/5) = (1.24)^2 = 1.5376. This results in a 53.76% increase.

    The DSAT is shifting more towards trickier circle questions, not just your standard circle equation questions, so I predict a question that will give a circle and give the you the coordinates of the center of the circle and then give you a coordinate that would lie on the circle. Then I would ask you for the slope of a tangent line that intersects the point on the circle. Obviuosly you would just take the slope of the center and the point on circle, then since a tangent is perpendicular to the radius of a circle, you would just take the opposite and reciprocal of the slope of the radius slope and that would be you answer.

    For the standard deviation question, you could use the stdev function on desmos for accuracy. Just key in “stdev(no., no., no., no.)” and you’ll get your first standard deviation. After which you can add these other values into the bracket and see which one makes the standard deviation value go down. I’d do that just to be extra sure and it’d take less than a minute. All the best with your SATs❤️

      @@shuklabuntyThis is because the 1.24 is telling you the percentage increase(rate of change basically) and if you're multiplying by 36, you're no longer solving for percentage again, rather you're solving for 36(1.24)^x/5 which we aren't looking for. I hope you understand now. Good luck btw

    About 12:02, i think you can just insert x value in the formula, but remove 36. The only thing that is left is (1.24)^(10/5). So it's basically a square of 1.24, equals to 1.5376. As we know from formula of exponential growth it is (1+0.5376) and latter is our increase percentage. Explanation is kinda long, but while solving, it goes really fast.

  • @r22gamer54
    @r22gamer54 2 місяці тому +11

    For Prediction 6 you over complicated it a ton. Just plug in 10 for x, you can see that it would just be 1.24^2 then u get 1.54ish around which means it increased by 54%

  • @TheMasterPlayer-uo6ms
    @TheMasterPlayer-uo6ms 2 місяці тому +1

    The question beginning at 12:02 can be simply solved by finding the exponent, x, which is 10 in this case, divided by 5 becomes 2 then squaring 1.24 to get 1.5376, giving us our answer of 53.76% increase.

  • @aquagames4710
    @aquagames4710 2 місяці тому +2

    yo btw for around 17:20 this might not be that useful for this specific question since the fraction is easy to reduce by hand but if you're lazy and want to enter the fraction in reduced form then enter the fraction or decimal into desmos and then u will see on the left hand side a button that looks like an empty box over another empty box and if you press that it automatically converts the fraction or a decimal into the simplest form fraction so you dont have to waste ur time on that

    12:03 a faster way you can the value of p is by setting up a proportion of 36 being the original, meaning 36 is 100%, and 55.35 over 36. I would multiply 55.35 with 100 then divide by 36 or you can use the butterfly method and subtract the original percentage with the new percentage. Your proportion would look like: 36=100 over 55.35= x. You will get 153.75 so then you subtract 100 from 153.75 and get around 54. Also, thank you so much for this amazing video!

    12:03 for this question you can simply plug in x to the exponent part of the equation and the times of increas is 1.24 to the power of 10 over 5 which is 2 so it increases by 1.24 to the power of 2 which is 1.5376 and to convert it to percentage you simply multiply it by a 100 which yields 153.76% so the increase is just about 54% this is a mucb simpler and more accurate solution.

    17:38. I thought it was "the participant is younger than 20", which meant there are 24 cases in which the selected person would be younger than 20. They only said " THE PARTICIPANT IS..." so the group of people they selected from should include people from 20+ group. Hence it should be 24/105

    • @rip8867
      @rip8867 2 місяці тому +2

      "given" means that it won't be anyone from the 20+ group (conditional probability). Yours would work if it said "What is the probability that the participant will be younger than 20 and in group A" since that is a joint probability (two events occurring simultaneously) and is not restricted to a given condition.

    16:38. Just a quick question, in the question it's mentioned "one of the participants is selected at random from THE group" which was mentioned in the statement above. If we use your answer of 24/70, that would mean we interpreted the question as "what is the probability of selecting a less than 20 year old participant from group A out of a group of only less than 20 year olds". According to me, the answer should be 24/105 but I may have just interpreted the question wrong. Please enlighten me if I should do the same thing you did when I'll give the SAT (Aug. 24th).

    Prediction 6 - Well you really dont need to calculate all of that, you could simplify the steps.
    we know that the value will increase by 24% when x = 5 (exponent turns 1)
    Now, its basically asking us the percent change in value with every increase of 10 in x.... That simply means that you calculate (1.24)^2 and the decimal part * 100 is your percentage value
    Might not be the best at explaining but I hope its understandable...

    For the 6 th question dealing with exponents, I did (1.24)^10/ 5 which is equal to 1.24^2 and got 1.5376 which is approximately 1.54 p, which is the answer you got as well. Would this shortcut method work?

      Yes Idid this too. It works. This is because anyway 36 is the initial value, so you are essentially compounding the factor of 1.24 twice. So, if you just do 1.24 twice and subtract 1 you get the percent change. I also found it easy to do on desmos

    Shouldn't prediction 7 have the answer as 24/35. As the question asks, What is the probability that the participant is from group A (denominator 35), given that younger than 20 (Numerator=24)

    • @hopsmax2827
      @hopsmax2827 2 місяці тому

      The total amount of participants younger than 20 is 35+35=70. So it would still be 24/70

  • @justinanwasor7211

    In question 7: why didn’t you multiply the percentage by a hundred to get 34.29?

    • @cubingpro9877
      @cubingpro9877 2 місяці тому

      In the real test it will ask you to enter it as a fraction or decimal not in percentage form
      So 24/70 or .3428 or .3429 would be acceptable I think
