I shoot a lot of events and the 24-120 lives on my Nikon Z8. The larger Z8 pairs well with the larger 24-120; in addition, 24mm is an important lens length for group photos. I would have a hard time shooting groups indoors with just a 28mm length. Helpful review.

I have Z24-120 and I prefer this Tamron paired with Z17-28 f2.8 for wider shots.First, it's super sharp, on par with Z24-120, second, it's f2.8, third, it has nicer rendering than Z24-120 (for me, this is subjective). Finally, the inbuilt corrections in 24-120 do not work as well as Tamron profiles provided for LR.

One of my favorite vacation spots. Thinking about grabbing this lens for my Nikon Z8. We both left Fuji and got Nikon. Lol
    Loved my XH2 period.

I recommend this Tamron together with Z17-28 f2.8 for wider shots. Both give excellent image quality.

@andrzejjaniak6849 I got this with the Viltrox 16mm 1.8 lens. I'm looking for the 180 600mm but it went up in price 200.00

Hello. I own a Zf since several months now. I have this marvelous zoom and I have the chance also to use the 24-120 F4S. Really this zoom is just 80 g heavier than the Tamron and not so big finally. That’s the first time I have two similars zooms and I will never sell one or the other because both are stunning. You should try this amazing Nikon zoom which although close on paper is very different from the Tamron for a price of a hundred € extra, the range 75-120 being often very practical especially in landscape. On the other hand, the problem at first is often to choose the one you will use before going shooting but after when you know them well it becomes easier. 😀

7:17 It's not external focussing. If you meant that it's external zoom, then it's the same for standard zooms from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Tamron, Sigma, etc.

This Tamron is excellent. In real life shooting scenarios as sharp as 24-120 f4. It's faster, lighter, more portable. It has nicer rendering for me than 24-120 f4 and the Tamron profiles provided for LR work better than Nikkor Z24-120 in built corrections. As a result I find it easier to correct distortions on Tamron. I paired it with Nikkor Z17-28 f2.8 (also Tamron design) and it's a powerful combo.

Exactly my experience too, I was surprised to see how well this lens works with Lightroom. I rented the 24-120 lens and I loved it, but I just had this feeling that I will always need to carry a prime for portraits. I ordered this thinking I will probably return it but I have been really happy with this lens. To me, it performs at the level of the Nikon S lenses. This lens while not the best looking on the Zf, at least looks better than the 24-120. I dont know why Sigma is not making more Z mount glass but Tamron is making the Z mount more competitive with their unique offerings. Now I am waiting for them to release the 70-180G2.

Interesting they made this lens in Japan. Probably because of the supply chain after the COVID when this lens was designed and launched. The RXD lens (G1) was made in Vietnam. Mine has already been sent back to warranty twice due to sealing issue...

28mm is too tight for a starting point on a zoom. I much prefer 24mm.

This is a really random question and maybe completely off the mark, but did you have a hair transplant?
