i didn't think i would, but after using the G502 proteus core since 2014, (now using G502 hero) i can't see myself using anything less than 13 programmable buttons. other than the common functions like left, right, middle click etc, i've gotten used to the extra 5 buttons for back, forward (this has been a feature since the early 2000s) for webpages, games etc, volume up and down and F12 for the "snipe" button to take screenshots in games quicker on steam. epic scrolling battle.
3:23 I think I would prefer the DPI shift button on the Logitech G502 X, with myself having a shorter thumb/smaller hand. Although the Basilisk has a longer paddle, the button itself is further forward, so I struggle to reach it even with the longer switch. As you can see in 2:43, you thumb just reaches the paddle on the Basilisk, but can reach beyond that button on the G502 X
I have been using my Razer Basilisk Ultimate since 2020 and it is still performing fine. It is also great to see that it is still comparable to new mouses like Logitech G502 X Plus. Nice and through review man. Thanks.
Logitech was the easy choice for me coming from the old g502 lightspeed, the buttons are just right and the new one improves on that, but mainly its down to Ghub, I have had razer mice in the past and Razer software very much like Logitechs have never had a good name, but GHUB allows Scripting and thats like Macro on steroids and extremely powerful so all in all the G502X is the best for me
@@TheProvokedPrawn A shame! Would be good to see a comparison between these two soon as they're both the latest and greatest from each company. The basilisk now has potential 4k polling and a scroll similar to the g502. One of the best things about the Logitech I think is the simple effect of having an led indicator! So handy! The v3 pro has a better sensor but id love to see what the actual difference are to the average Joe
Thumb button (sniper button on the side) on Razer Basilisk V3 and V3 Pro is no longer removable sadly. Other than that i think they've completely changed the wheel system, ditching the adjustable resistance and adding infinite scroll option, which is nice since the wheel on the Basilisk Ultimate was absolute garbage. Other than that, not much has changed. HOWEVER, since Logitech is using optical encoder for wheel and razer using a mechanical system, i don't think the infinite scroll option on V3 is as durable as Logi's.
Which would you say is more durable after touching both? I had a basilisk ultimate which started developing scroll wheel issues after 1y10m. I sent it back for warranty and got my money back just in time. Now i'm debating if I should get another one as I liked it very much but the G502 is also a great option.
Have both.... g502 is a much better than basilisk, razer products are pretty cheap and charge a premium for no reason. G502 stands the test of time, thats why razer copied its design in the first place, just to "keep up."
@@SollutionzFifa ngl, had a Deathadder Chroma and right now an Orochi v2.. Nobody I have been able to find compares the programmable button abilities of the mice. That is what I needed to decide which to buy. I stuck with Logitech [wired] partly because I think it has more buttons for gaming.
hey, i heard that lmb seems lighter on the new g502X. Could you compare the actuation force on a balance. Put it on, tare, and note how many grams it needs to click
Nice video :D Curious about the G502 X Plus vs the Roccat Kone Xp Air! (Also, really random, but you are essentially a living pair of hands to me... that's a nice ring design)
Valid question, I should do that video when I have time. I think I prefer the size and shape of the Kone XP Air and the convenience of the charging dock. Thanks about the ring too. If you'd like to see my face I stream on my gaming channel on Friday and Saturday
Got the G502X Lightspeed version in black (my first ever G502) and i'm freakin loving it. The only thing that stopped me buying a G502 before was the non-removable sniper&thumb button on the side. Absolutely hated it. Now that they've pulled a razer on that thing (on Basilisk Ultimate it is removable), got it ASAP. Using a Razer Basilisk Ultimate on the side and i must say that mouse has a very unstable scrolling experience. You cannot switch weapons in games only relying on the scroll wheel steps because it is not registering scrolls until you push the wheel a little bit further in order to complete its registering... When i opened it up i saw that it's using a cheap potentiometer system rather than an Optical encoder like Logi products. And that potentiometer is wiggling back and forth as you scroll the wheel causing those scroll skips. I've managed to tuck a toothpick (yes a freakin toothpick) in the enclosure in order to prevent it to wiggle, and it improved the scroll skips to a managable degree. If anyone is interested in it i can send photos of it. Anyway, stay away from Basilisk ultimate and V2. Stick to G502X.
Thanks for the heads up about the scroll wheel. I have had more than a few Razer’s and actually really like their wheel on the Viper Mini and Orochi V2. I will be buying the Logitech G502 Plus.
At the moment I'm an owner of an old g700s that is day by day is saying to me goodbye, that's why I started searching a good mice to swap to. Very sad that the g502x plus, which I think will be my next mouse, doesn't have 4 side buttons as the g700s, I can't find the better version of it sadly. Your video also helped me to get an idea on what it could look like a white mouse as the g502x plus on my deskmat that is very similar to yours and it's very pleasant if not perfect for it. But I have a question about the mat itself: what is the size of it and where did you buy it? Mine is like 800x350 mm...
Razer products are amazing when they work. My Basilisk Ultimate had issues after 2 weeks of extremely light use, and dealing with their customer service was worse than pulling teeth, which is a shame because I really liked it out of the box.
@@OntarioGuy430 you can look up keychron if you're on a budget. They have the k1, k3, k5, and k7 but thing thing about low profile limits customization options due to the switches they use. This also limits the keycap options as well. If you want a smaller keyboard but isn't low profile there are 60% boards out there with a ton of options from switches to keycaps. If keychron boards aren't to your liking I would recommend a starter board like a kbd67 lite.
I have logitech 502 x and it locked scroll wheel is absolutely terrible, its unlocked wheel has no resistance so not that comfortable as well. However I put some tape on the side of the mouse and unlocked it now i have a best of both worlds, very smooth scroll with slight resistance so it does not roll and no weird clicking or resistance. Now it may be the perfect mouse.
funnily enough i have as many weights as you can put into it on my g502. weights from an older mouse and all the weights that came with it. i like a heavy mouse.
G502 wins to me. Freewheeling (good in documents and outside of gaming) and USB-C is a no brainer. Microusb is just part of the past now and any devies using that is just past as well if you ask me.

I used basilisk ultimate now for 1 year but I swapped back to my g900 chaos spectrum now . The basilisk keep loosing connection a few times a day for 2-3 secounds dont matter how close the dongle is. Trued every fix i could find online but nothing works. The thumb grip rubber have no texture left and Is allmost become slippery. The left and right buttons have alot of side wobble u can move them 3-5millimeters sideways and when you click they make a tiny bit on squeeking sound and overall all buttons feel cheap compeared to my g900 chaos spectrum. When it comes to mouse i whould allways pick logitech over razer. My 3 year old logitech feels and look alot better then the 1 year old razer. Razer software is allso really bad vs logitech . The only razer product i am using atm is blackshark 2 headset. I allso got logitech pro headset but I actually use the razer over the logitech because blackshark 2 have better sound in my opinion. And the ear cups are bigger and more comfortable. I whould alleays use logitech over razer exept on the headphones. Forgot to mention the logitech mic is better then the razer but I dont use them i am using elgato wave because I was sick of having the mic on the headset when I drink or snack.
I got the Razer Basalisk and I was so disappointed. Feels like a cheap mouse. I wish I had just spent the money on the G502. Anyone want to buy my Basalisk ?
I do have to say, i have the razer charging dock and i had it replaced twice, same for the mice that came with it. At some point it just stops working. Cleaning it didn't work either. Good to know before you buy
