Just a general recommendation: Sensible Shoes by Sharon Garlough Brown It is Christian fiction but is more Literary or General fiction. It looks at 4 different women (strangers to each other) as they arrive at this retreat center and learn about their lives, stories of what got each of them there, and see them as they go through the center together.
Thanks for the rec. I can't add it to the cart because I don't already own it. If you'd like to pick another my list is linked in the description. Thanks!
Hi Krista, My pick is The 100 Year Old Man who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. A fun romp thru history that I thoroughly enjoyed. Wishing you a wonderful 2025 filled with reading.🎉
Ginny Moon by Benjamin Ludwig is my recommendation. It was my favorite book of 2017. The author's writing portrays the struggle of communicating for those with communication disorders. I wanted to jump into the book to keep her safe. I love adding to your cart every year!! Happy Reading in the New Year!
The Letter Tree by Rachel Fordham. I haven't read this one yet - on my January TBR - but everyone on book tube and beyond raves about this particular book. Plus it has an epistolary component so it works for a January reading challenge.
This didn't take me long at all. I searched for the book that I just finished reading and really enjoyed. It is a book that I put on my TBR because of you had mentioned it on one of your videos so I suspected it is probably on your owned TBR list. And, I was right. So I am returning the favor and recommending you read BLUEBIRD by SHARON CAMERON. I'd love to hear what you think about it. I enjoyed it so much that I am now reading another one of her books, Rook, which is not in my genre at all, but am enjoying this one as well.
Since you mentioned Christian Fiction, my pick for your cart is: If I Were You by Lynn Austin. I'm picky with CF and rarely give these books 5 stars, but this one was great!
I recommend Winston Graham's Poldark. I read it first in my teens when PBS aired an adaptation of the first seven books in the series. I was so taken with it. I was "obsessed," as the kids say. I read all seven books. Many years later, they created another series based on the books. (I think both times these were British productions that were shown via Masterpiece Theatre.) In any event, I just loved the story. It's so rich in place, time, family, socio-economic circumstances, class, politics, and definitely romance. Just wonderful.
I would like you to read The Foundling by Ann Leary. Also, I wouldn't bother with Marvelous by Molly Greeley. It wasn't as magical as I was hoping for with a fairytale retelling. It was a bit of a downer as I recall.
The Mountains Sing! Such a good read, I read it a couple years ago and couldn’t put it down. I was going to choose All the Colors of the Dark but it looks like that one is getting a lot of recommendations. For good reason it was my best book of the year this year. Good luck with your reading in the new year!
I vote for Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz. I started this series this year and loved it. It is a book within a book mystery and, even though chunky, I ate it up. Good luck!
The Huntress of Thornbeck Forest by Melanie Dickerson is an all time favourite of mine!! It was hard to choose you have so many good books on your owned tbr :)
There are very few on the list that I have read so, since I hope to read the Skyward series in 2025, I'll choose whatever the next is in that series that you need to read (Starsight?)
Circling the Sun by Paula McClain It's a fictionalized life of Beryl Markham, the aviator. Quite absorbing. You had a lot of good choices on there, including ones I'm also interested in and I know there's others on there that other booktubers really love!
So many good ones to choose from! You said you wanted to read more mysteries, so I'm going to pick Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone. It's also on my tbr for this year so hopefully it will be motivation for me to read it too. Happy New Year, Krista 🎉
@@adriennerichardson3347 If you haven't read Iscariot by Tosca Lee it's fantastic! There are quite a few Biblical fiction. I think Tessa Afshar has some as well as Kim Vogel Smith...and others, but those come to mind first.
Hi Krista, the unread book on your shelves that is in my top 10 fiction reads this year is The Invisible Hour by Alice Hoffman. You've already read The Frozen River, which was my second favourite. "The Lights of Sugarberry Cove" by Heather Webber. Krista you introduced me to "The Coffee Shop of Curiosities" also by Heather Webber. A 5 star read; one of my 2024 favourites. They're hard titles to get in Oz, but I've found an online bookstore that may be able to access.
