I have always loved Waltz of the Flowers. I was a trombone player in my high school Marching Band, and we played a Nutcracker medley that included Waltz of the Flowers. I am also a piano player, and I would love to be able to perform this piece on organ as you are, but with two intricate hand parts and the foot pedal bass, it's too much multitasking for me to do. You are amazing for being able to perform this.
Hi, Eric. Do you know if someone has recorded all movements of the Nutcracker ballet transcribed for the organ? I only know the complete score transcribed for 2-hand piano by Taneyev.
This work lends itself well to the organ, although the sound quality in this recording was quite muddy and would have benefited from better microphone placement. Being an American organ, the string section is well adapted to symphonic and orchestral music. Good stuff.
Thank you for your discerning comments. The performance was professionally recorded, and while it sounds great on my audio system, UA-cam adjusts the audio of (I believe) every video uploaded. In this case, it made the audio worse. Just to be clear, the organ began life as an E. M. Skinner instrument, but was renovated by N. P. Mander (London) in the early 1990's. It would be difficult to say with authority whether it is an American instrument or an English one!
That is wonderful - ausgezeichnet! Adding on the secondary diapasons there at 6:14 - i about leapt out of my chair. This is an amazing arrangement and i am going to learn this myself... but my instrument doesn't have an F#31 on the pedals. Sad Panda.... All i want for Christmas is two more keys. Enjoyed it mate, and thank-you
My organ master showed this to me when I was 4yrs old,and I still can't get over from this master piece
Beautiful, Eric, the organ gives a different depth to Tchaikovski ballet music.thank you.

The immense amount of effort and skill required to play this is incomprehensible. Great playing.

Yes, Frederick Hohman has recorded the whole suite - this is his arrangement I'm playing.
Great performance! Where might I obtain the score?
This is a published arrangement by Fredrick Hohman: www.wayneleupold.com/index.php/the-nutcracker-suite-tchaikovsky-tr-hohman.html
