Truth, as a professional sometimes, not often, we need the beef that cordless drills just can't get. With a 4 1/4" hole saw cordless versions just don't cut it, however, the corded ones will break your friggin wrist if they get twisted up.

i do like reviews and especially about corded tools, which are nowadays unfortunately discualified as dinos of the tools world.
and here your review missed important points.
unfortunately todays reviews are all about power, how quick you can get the job done, how easy it is, etc.
personally i couldnt care less about this.
does it really matter if i need seconds more or less to drill a hole?
    my key questions are -
safety - what kind of risk i take and how the tool helps me to minimize this risk
continiously - can i do the job with this tool over and over again
is the tool on its limit, what never is good, or do i have a reserve of energy to get out of a tricky situation
is the tool safe or is it short on the edge.
for example, who ever experienced a kickback of a drill hopefully not with a broken wrist, never touches this tool the same thoughtless way again.
when i saw how you crunch the chuck in the brick, i would like to ask you what did this drill to you that you treat it like this.
this new generation of battery tools, lighter, faster, more powerful comes with a price. i get nightmares watching how careless they get used nowadays to handle this powerful tools.
its all about keeping control over things while they are happening and i do believe with corded tools i do have more control over things.
their bulkiness makes me take them serious.
in x years they will perform the same as on the first day.
they have an continious equal output of energy, no battery goes flat or is done for ever, temperature doesnt matter.
    maintenance is far more easy
with a little bit care and maintenance your grandson will be happy to work with this dewalt drill. i cant imagine this with any battery powered tool.
    i dont like disorden

A Milwaukee 0228-01 I rebuilt for a friend who once it was repaired decided to give it to me has a metabo 3/8 keyless chuck made in Germany gives this old vintage Milwaukee drill some character compared to the original configuration I have a Porter cable modal 629 8 amp reciprocating saw 6 speed skill sander jigsaw Craftsman industrial router skilsaw 13. Amp circular saw I have some cordless stuff as well but this is what I grew up with and I find it still liable to me

What is your assessment for its chuck efficiency

Having a keyed chuck you can really crank down on the bits, never had one slip as long as I did up all three positions.

No thanks on more cordless. My 14v Dewalt doesn't even have batteries to buy anymore. If you're just a weekend warrior like me, I see zero reason to go cordless. Had I done this before, I'd still be drilling, not shopping.

Probably worth upgrading a 14.4V tool at this point anyway. The newest cordless ones are so much lighter, smaller and more powerful.

@@toolamanjaro929 I believe you. But my eye is on the DeWalt DWD215G. 10A corded, likely the last drill I'll ever have to buy. If I were out doing projects on the farm with no power source I'd pick something else.
