Spot on. The last 3 chapters have all had problems but chapter 5 especially feels more sloppy than the others cause these concepts actually had Merit. I have no idea why epic is wasting so much funds and time with these new modes that nobody wants to play. They need to stick to their lane and realize BR is their main money maker.
@@Raddish-IS-Radd I honestly never got this point. Lego barely gets updates, Festival hasn’t got anything other than battle mode since launch, and Rocket Racing is the same story. BR has not taken a hit update wise because of the new modes. The only new mode they’ve been actually updating is reload.
Chapter 5 Meta in a Nutshell 1. Get a Medallion (for advantage) or touch Water for Teleport. If not, you're throwing. 2. Go to Vault to get Modifications NEEDED in order to fight others. If not, you are technically Throwing. Your gun is just not good without them. Thanks to Bullet Drop/Modifications. 3. Get the Collab Mythic (of the Chapter 5 Season) in order to fight others who have it. They tend to also have it since it becomes the meta of the season. (TMNT, WATER BENDING, MAGNETO/Mythic Cars, JET PACK/SHIELD). ... and if you Don't do/have any of these things listed... then you are... THROWING. Who needs skill/ actual strategy/ positioning when you can just grab an OP medallion, modify your bullet-drop gun, and then have The Collab Mythics carry you to Victory? Great, Peak Chapter 👍 💀
@@brivyyy The problem with it is that every gun feels the same with it, specially because the drop speed and travel speed are pretty much the same on everything, except Snipers and DMRs and those are stronger just for that fact alone. I love Snipers and DMRs, hell I would run a DMR over an AR every time I could, but making everything projectile was not the right move, a balance between the two was better imo
I feel the same way about Chapter 5 and the fact epic is trying to stray away from their original identity. I hope a lot of the changes are reverted in Chapter 6
It’s kinda crazy that they’re relying on Marvel, another dying franchise (aside from Deadpool & Wolverine), to save their chapter. And they’re bringing back Heroes vs Villains LTM, but making it like Avengers: Endgame. So I’d say S4 is the Avengers: Endgame of Chapter 5, because it avenged the fallen chapter, it had a better lootpool, they brought back the more cartoonish artstyle for the Doom locations and Raft, and new mask, same task Aside from all that, I think ch 3 was slightly worse (it felt more boring imo and worst event yet). Ch 5 did indeed have Ls they took. The only reason why I put ch 5 higher is because of the Avengers.
I think that Chapter 5 was a great season for people just starting out. But for OG players it is really jarring to move from say Chapter 4 and have all the new additions like making the map realistic and less cartoony, weapon mods, bullet drop, and medallions. I think if you are a new player you had a great time. Also unpopular opinion, I really liked Season 2 of Chapter 5. It was semi balanced and you wouldn't have the annoying weapons of Season 3 and 4

Season 1 of chapter 5 was the only really good season of the chapter. Season 2 was also going good until the avatar came in and completely replaced the gods weapons. I personally think this is easily the worst chapter, and since this is a one year chapter I don't think I got used to the map enough to really miss it when it's gone
that's a common problem with the yearly-chapter system, Ch1 and Ch2 didn't have that problem since they stayed for a long time each (over half of it's lifetime)
Chapter 5 mostly just felt like Epic using the same tired copy-paste design formula for Fortnite, with the sole exception of Wrecked. If it weren't for Wrecked, I would have said that Epic is just planning Fortnite with an algorithm at this point for how samey the seasons really felt. Again, aside from Wrecked. It was the breath of fresh air that this chapter DESPERATELY needed. I am still on board the Wrecked train and I am not getting off. Change is good.
S1: Hated the new movement and bullet drop weapons but slowly got used to it and it was okay for a Season 1. S2: Had a lot of potential to be good but the avatar Collab ruined it, still better than 1 but still a disappointing season S3: Worst season of the chapter, it's bad for obvious reasons S4: Best season of the chapter and the most fun I've had since Season OG

Ch5 s4 is litterally the savior of the chapter because the new locations use cartoonish graphics, the lootpool is better, there will be a new LTM Tuesday called Heroes vs Villains, and BR has the Doom island now which makes BR even more fun and turns it into an LTM because it is like Avengers Endgame where instead of Thanos its Dr. Doom and whoever claims the power of Dr. Doom becomes Dr. Doom and everyone then starts teaming up basically becoming Avengers
this may be a bit of a hot take, but adding exclusive op stuff around the map like medallions and (some) mythics, are very overwhelming to think about when playing a normal game
I liked season 1 since was a more of a balanced season but the rest in my opinion it feels unfair if you don't have the item that is the meta, basically if you don't have it , you pretty much lose. Season 2 , 3 and 4 , I still found it fun but still its annoying to die to people that has the auto turrets and the Zeus lightning bolt, heck even the cars. In my opinion for the map , I like how much colors and biomes there are and it looks cool but i wish fortnite still kept its colorfulness. So in my opinion , I give this chapter a 7.5/10 , its decent but I wasn't a huge fan of this chapter much , I feel like chapter 4 was just better since it was more balanced even though some people hated the map.

Imo I absolutely don't want weapon mods to stay. They're such wasted potential and I think guns would be better without them. Just add some gimmick guns back. And the loot pool was the worst. Barley no new weapons and they just reused old ones from the older seasons.
every season 1 will always be the second or first best season of each chapter. season 1 was really good and having 5 medallions spread out on the map made the game feel more alive. i hated when they made the medallion on half of the smap and not spread out this made games feel longer and so much more boring
CH5S1 was good, CH5S2 (Epic thinks that collab is more important than season theme - bad), CH5S3 (Balance of new cars, but later they added some items to destroy cars and nerfed it and then season was playable. It wasn't good nor bad). CH5S4 (For now it's good). EDIT: As a addition, OG is the last thing Epic should add to Fortnite, but if they rly wanna add this then they should make it good not like previous "og". Epic can find some balance between new things and old ones.
This was one of my favourite chapters 😂 it literally got me back into fortnite after not enjoying the game since chapter 2 (chapter 4 season 4 is an exception that season was goated)

I really liked Chapter 5 tbh. I’ve been playing since C2S5 so it’s kinda weird to like it and be a slightly older player, but it is what it is. I’m in love with both the current season and Season 1, and the Greek season was solid too. Only one I didn’t love was the Wrecked season, but oddly enough I enjoyed that too. But overall? Yeah, after OG Chapter 2 I’m probably quitting 😂. Fortnite just isn’t the same anymore, and after getting, IMO, a decent Chapter, I’m leaving before seeing what horrors await in Chapter 6. Bullet drop is cool, but definitely not good for the game lol. W video dude, also I really liked the Warforged ❤
I only play zero build and reload zero build and I really enjoyed season 2 and 3. The car era was kinda lame cause I just prefer infantry fights, but it came and went pretty quick. Love the current meta with the war machine kit. Once you get everything, you’re pretty much set. I didn’t really get deep into any other chapter though, so I can’t speak on the past.
i started playing fortnite during christmas 2023 (got a pc) and ive loved it so far, and ive never been a fan of shooter games or battle royales. i can imagine its definitely had better seasons before i started playing however and i sympathize with people who miss that
for me the looks should revet to the artistic direction of chapter 4, that chapter had peak art direction, with the exception of the jungle Biome, that one was too realistic to the point it would fit perfectly in chapter 5 in term of visuals. for me at least going from ch4 to chapter og felt like a total downgrade in terms of visuals, same with chapter 5 that looks way too realistic for my liking but I still prefer that look over that ch1 art style. The only real changes I want for ch6 is to revert to the ch4 art style, go back to hitscan weapon and hopefully bring back augments but I feel I'm asking too much with the last one. Weapons mods can stay, they are a fun extra. Also, is there now a real reason for anyone to complain how "it's not like og fortnite anymore" when reload is just right there? forever? in a permanent ch1 state Also sorry to quote you but "I love this game man, I really do and I've loved it for a long time and to see it go away and keep going away from what I loved it's a little defeating" why so tramatic. Dude, again, reload is just right there, and soon they'll add solos to that mode, that to me invalidates so much of that type of complaining from og players, they got a permanent pseudo ch1 map, what else do they need? you have two completely different main game modes now, for people who like the new stuff and people who loves the old stuff, there are so much to pick from and og players are somehow still keep complaining and complaining no stop. I feel like there's simply no way to satisfy that type of people, they would be presented with a perfect solution and they'll find a way to be bitter about it.
I don’t know what you all have. I’m having the time of my life. I’ve NEVER touched Fortnite ever in my life, but ever since the new modes got introduced in this chapter I originally just came for Lego Fortnite and eventually the racer… but now I’m almost only playing Zero Build as I slowly creeped my wah into it over the year, in January being the absolute worst and cowering player ever but now almost always reaching Top 10 and scoring some wins… I like the skins, the Olympus ones being the best (best battle pass as I heard from many and I have to agree) and now Iron Man is back my fav Marvel Hero, also the Avatar colab was absolute pure fun and the best time I had in the game to the point I played every day. (I swear they target me and my favorite stuff in this season specifically) If someone told me I’d play Fortnite to this level one year ago I’d laugh them in the face🤣.
C5S1 was great if you like chilling around the map vibing with your friends. If you like chaotic action packed gameplay then I could see you not liking that season. I reached unreal in that season on the switch which is actually crazy too. Map was beautiful with a Europe theme too. I liked c5s1 the best

Switch the guns for a pool of Chapter 2 and 3 weapons and this chapter would've been better. Although weapon mods are ass and the mechanics introduced are bland at best, like Car mods just being tires, cowcatchers and turrets

Yeah seasons 2 and 4 were great and 3 was pretty solid, but 1, 5-end were bad for me and was why I didn't play a minute of season 8. Just wasn't fun at that point personally
You should do an update thoughts and opinions once we’re done with the current marvel season. As an avatar last air bender fan I had a blast when that collab dropped but I do agree wish that the element mythics were mixed with the Greek mythics. Also I do hope to see weapon mode again in chapter 6. As with bullet drop my personal opinion is that atleast the weapon diversity was nice and coming from chapter 4 and chapter 3. While I love them. The twin mag red dot and mk were really strong as hit scans weapon so for me if I did not have these guns I felt an unfair advantage with them being hit scans
For me the Avatar collab carried the season 2, like they removed the lightning, the wings and the chain, these weapons was shit (except the chain) so how I can complain
I feel like chapter 5 was mostly experimental, with the trying new features like bullet drop and weapon mods. Also most fearures are pretty bare and could've been so much more. I would also like to go back to either chapter 2 or chapter 4 graphics as they looked the best imo.
Only reason I like chapter 5 so far was Festival, Season 3, and the collabs, I know I’m probably gonna get a lot of hate for the S3 opinion but I had so much fun with friends going around with all the cars and fists, and that’s what I look for in a season, fun, and it always got me on for solos as well cause I would be hyped up to compete with other people to get the cars or medallions and I just loved it, the other seasons I really didn’t feel too hyped to play, but I think all the seasons this chapter had their great spots.
Loved season 1 because it just felt new. Really loved season 2. It was the first time I grinded a battlepass. F*** season 3, stopped playing. Came back for season 4 and its mix mix but I love the skins so...
i started in season 1 of chapter 5 in late December. i was obsessed with it. Games are so much more fun when you first start, and it was a blast for me. My favs of this chapter was 1 and 4, but 1 sticks out because i think it was the gun meta. For season 4, it is fun for me and i like when they make new mythics. But the problem is that the new iron man mythics are BUSTED. The gloves are literally the most broken thing ever added- you don’t even need an ar, shotgun, or smg. I win all my games with it. But season 1 was the best for me because it was all fair. I get the medallions were BROKEN at first, but the gun meta and balance is what made it fun.
The map argument is absolutly perfect, i really hate this map because it literally looks like a PUBG map, we lost colors, simple assets and original buildings

my tier list is: chapter 3 because of the first two seasons chapter 5 because the maps were good and bullet drop does balance the guns for zero build i would get lasered by chapter 4 ars in zero build. chapter 2 because i only played the last 3 seasons and season 7 was good so many weapons and map changes every update chapter 4 i hate this chapter mainly because of the annoying spawn island and the event that came with it but season 2 and 4 were good but the weapons were way too overpowered for zero builds chapter 1 because i didn’t play and didn’t like OG Fortnite because it was a bad map for zero and it was too OG vibes so no thanks and i don’t want to revisit it again. i just don’t like the map looks too abandoned
I must say this is the second best chapter imo and I almost need to say that it is my favorite map ever. And for me that this is the first chapter where the map did consistently got better which each season (in chapter 2, 3 & 4 the map always started downgrading after the first half of the chapter). Also chapter 5 season 3 & 4 are at the moment two of my top 10 seasons and I really enjoyed the season themes we had. Also the story is really connected this whole chapter which makes the story finally great again after 2 years. But yeah not everything that chapter was good and I agree to some off the bad stuff you mentioned but I haven’t as much negative in mind this chapter as you. For me the weakest chapters were chapter 3 & 4 and that was when I slowly started to get burned out of the game, especially during chapter 4. However, chapter 3 & 4 weren‘t bad. I must say that I can understand when someone says that they don’t like a chapter or say it’s the worst because that always comes down to personal preference but to say that any chapter is bad is really overreacted. Therefore, I’m really happy that you also mentioned that you don’t think that the current or any chapter is bad but it’s just the one you enjoyed the least. i feel like it was only a decline after chapter 5 season 1. This season in my opinion was the most balanced (after some tweaks) and made for a great overall game. But i don’t know if i can say the same for the rest of chapter 5. Now i wouldn’t go on and say it’s the worst, but it’s definitely had its fair share of declining player counts

They abandoned the entire theme when they added the Avatar stuff, and they even went as far as to take out the Greek God items like the Wings of Icarus. They just didn’t advance the theme, and I think they could’ve done so much more as far as adding items and making gameplay changes.
Im gonna be real, i dispised this chapter. If OG fortnite was a love letter to the game, chapter 5 was a breakup text. It didn't feel like fortnite, didn't play like fortnite, didn't look like fortnite. It just wasnt fortnite. Fortnite is a cartoony battle royale game, ch5 was a cash grab. It took away locker rarity, destroyed the UI, added the new LTM's they are trying so desperately to make worse and it was just horrible. People say OG fortnite was all nostalgia but it just wasnt. They somehow managed to split the community into SIX DIFFERENT FAN BASES they have to cater to. Casual, Competitive, Lego, Festival and rocket racing. This isnt progress, this is ripping away its identity
Chapter 5 has been one of the best chapters. Amazing POIs and map changes, consistent and great content mid-seasons, mini-events, the story is returning in full force. This is without the Metaverse stuff too which is awesome.
You are wrong. People are not blinded by nostalgia, it was simpler then and had it's own identity. I wouldn't say it's the best chapter (I would say chapter 2 is slightly better overall), but it's easily second. It wasn't the same content over and over, each season had a new theme that completely switched up the meta. Think about season 7, 8, 9 and especially X.

So in my opinion , I give this chapter a 7.5/10 , its decent but I wasn't a huge fan of this chapter much , I feel like chapter 4 was just better since it was more balanced even though some people hated the map.

Imo I absolutely don't want weapon mods to stay. They're such wasted potential and I think guns would be better without them. Just add some gimmick guns back. And the loot pool was the worst. Barley no new weapons and they just reused old ones from the older seasons.
every season 1 will always be the second or first best season of each chapter. season 1 was really good and having 5 medallions spread out on the map made the game feel more alive. i hated when they made the medallion on half of the smap and not spread out this made games feel longer and so much more boring

CH5S1 was good, CH5S2 (Epic thinks that collab is more important than season theme - bad), CH5S3 (Balance of new cars, but later they added some items to destroy cars and nerfed it and then season was playable. It wasn't good nor bad). CH5S4 (For now it's good).
EDIT: As a addition, OG is the last thing Epic should add to Fortnite, but if they rly wanna add this then they should make it good not like previous "og". Epic can find some balance between new things and old ones.

I really liked Chapter 5 tbh. I’ve been playing since C2S5 so it’s kinda weird to like it and be a slightly older player, but it is what it is. I’m in love with both the current season and Season 1, and the Greek season was solid too. Only one I didn’t love was the Wrecked season, but oddly enough I enjoyed that too.
But overall? Yeah, after OG Chapter 2 I’m probably quitting 😂. Fortnite just isn’t the same anymore, and after getting, IMO, a decent Chapter, I’m leaving before seeing what horrors await in Chapter 6. Bullet drop is cool, but definitely not good for the game lol.

I only play zero build and reload zero build and I really enjoyed season 2 and 3. The car era was kinda lame cause I just prefer infantry fights, but it came and went pretty quick. Love the current meta with the war machine kit. Once you get everything, you’re pretty much set. I didn’t really get deep into any other chapter though, so I can’t speak on the past.
I hope for Chapter 6 Fortnite shifts back.
This entire chapter feels like a social experiment with Lego and the other modes.
i started playing fortnite during christmas 2023 (got a pc) and ive loved it so far, and ive never been a fan of shooter games or battle royales. i can imagine its definitely had better seasons before i started playing however and i sympathize with people who miss that

for me the looks should revet to the artistic direction of chapter 4, that chapter had peak art direction, with the exception of the jungle Biome, that one was too realistic to the point it would fit perfectly in chapter 5 in term of visuals.
for me at least going from ch4 to chapter og felt like a total downgrade in terms of visuals, same with chapter 5 that looks way too realistic for my liking but I still prefer that look over that ch1 art style.
The only real changes I want for ch6 is to revert to the ch4 art style, go back to hitscan weapon and hopefully bring back augments but I feel I'm asking too much with the last one. Weapons mods can stay, they are a fun extra.
Also, is there now a real reason for anyone to complain how "it's not like og fortnite anymore" when reload is just right there? forever? in a permanent ch1 state

Dude, again, reload is just right there, and soon they'll add solos to that mode, that to me invalidates so much of that type of complaining from og players, they got a permanent pseudo ch1 map, what else do they need? you have two completely different main game modes now, for people who like the new stuff and people who loves the old stuff, there are so much to pick from and og players are somehow still keep complaining and complaining no stop. I feel like there's simply no way to satisfy that type of people, they would be presented with a perfect solution and they'll find a way to be bitter about it.

I don’t know what you all have. I’m having the time of my life. I’ve NEVER touched Fortnite ever in my life, but ever since the new modes got introduced in this chapter I originally just came for Lego Fortnite and eventually the racer… but now I’m almost only playing Zero Build as I slowly creeped my wah into it over the year, in January being the absolute worst and cowering player ever but now almost always reaching Top 10 and scoring some wins… I like the skins, the Olympus ones being the best (best battle pass as I heard from many and I have to agree) and now Iron Man is back my fav Marvel Hero, also the Avatar colab was absolute pure fun and the best time I had in the game to the point I played every day. (I swear they target me and my favorite stuff in this season specifically)
If someone told me I’d play Fortnite to this level one year ago I’d laugh them in the face🤣.
C5S1 was great if you like chilling around the map vibing with your friends. If you like chaotic action packed gameplay then I could see you not liking that season. I reached unreal in that season on the switch which is actually crazy too. Map was beautiful with a Europe theme too. I liked c5s1 the best

It started out very bumpy with the new movement and the weapons, towards the middle and end things got better.. all but the weapons. Switch the guns for a pool of Chapter 2 and 3 weapons and this chapter would've been better. Although weapon mods are ass and the mechanics introduced are bland at best, like Car mods just being tires, cowcatchers and turrets

Yeah seasons 2 and 4 were great and 3 was pretty solid, but 1, 5-end were bad for me and was why I didn't play a minute of season 8. Just wasn't fun at that point personally
You should do an update thoughts and opinions once we’re done with the current marvel season. As an avatar last air bender fan I had a blast when that collab dropped but I do agree wish that the element mythics were mixed with the Greek mythics. Also I do hope to see weapon mode again in chapter 6. As with bullet drop my personal opinion is that atleast the weapon diversity was nice and coming from chapter 4 and chapter 3. While I love them. The twin mag red dot and mk were really strong as hit scans weapon so for me if I did not have these guns I felt an unfair advantage with them being hit scans

Only reason I like chapter 5 so far was Festival, Season 3, and the collabs, I know I’m probably gonna get a lot of hate for the S3 opinion but I had so much fun with friends going around with all the cars and fists, and that’s what I look for in a season, fun, and it always got me on for solos as well cause I would be hyped up to compete with other people to get the cars or medallions and I just loved it, the other seasons I really didn’t feel too hyped to play, but I think all the seasons this chapter had their great spots.

Loved season 1 because it just felt new. Really loved season 2. It was the first time I grinded a battlepass. F*** season 3, stopped playing. Came back for season 4 and its mix mix but I love the skins so...
I actually love chapter 5. It’s not my favorite but I do think it’s fun. S1 and S3 were a blast
i started in season 1 of chapter 5 in late December. i was obsessed with it. Games are so much more fun when you first start, and it was a blast for me. My favs of this chapter was 1 and 4, but 1 sticks out because i think it was the gun meta. For season 4, it is fun for me and i like when they make new mythics. But the problem is that the new iron man mythics are BUSTED. The gloves are literally the most broken thing ever added- you don’t even need an ar, shotgun, or smg. I win all my games with it. But season 1 was the best for me because it was all fair. I get the medallions were BROKEN at first, but the gun meta and balance is what made it fun.

my tier list is:
chapter 3 because of the first two seasons
chapter 5 because the maps were good and bullet drop does balance the guns for zero build i would get lasered by chapter 4 ars in zero build.
chapter 2 because i only played the last 3 seasons and season 7 was good so many weapons and map changes every update
chapter 4 i hate this chapter mainly because of the annoying spawn island and the event that came with it but season 2 and 4 were good but the weapons were way too overpowered for zero builds
chapter 1 because i didn’t play and didn’t like OG Fortnite because it was a bad map for zero and it was too OG vibes so no thanks and i don’t want to revisit it again. i just don’t like the map looks too abandoned
After C5S1 went completely down hill
I must say this is the second best chapter imo and I almost need to say that it is my favorite map ever. And for me that this is the first chapter where the map did consistently got better which each season (in chapter 2, 3 & 4 the map always started downgrading after the first half of the chapter). Also chapter 5 season 3 & 4 are at the moment two of my top 10 seasons and I really enjoyed the season themes we had. Also the story is really connected this whole chapter which makes the story finally great again after 2 years. But yeah not everything that chapter was good and I agree to some off the bad stuff you mentioned but I haven’t as much negative in mind this chapter as you. For me the weakest chapters were chapter 3 & 4 and that was when I slowly started to get burned out of the game, especially during chapter 4. However, chapter 3 & 4 weren‘t bad. I must say that I can understand when someone says that they don’t like a chapter or say it’s the worst because that always comes down to personal preference but to say that any chapter is bad is really overreacted. Therefore, I’m really happy that you also mentioned that you don’t think that the current or any chapter is bad but it’s just the one you enjoyed the least.

i feel like it was only a decline after chapter 5 season 1. This season in my opinion was the most balanced (after some tweaks) and made for a great overall game. But i don’t know if i can say the same for the rest of chapter 5. Now i wouldn’t go on and say it’s the worst, but it’s definitely had its fair share of declining player counts

They abandoned the entire theme when they added the Avatar stuff, and they even went as far as to take out the Greek God items like the Wings of Icarus. They just didn’t advance the theme, and I think they could’ve done so much more as far as adding items and making gameplay changes.

Im gonna be real, i dispised this chapter. If OG fortnite was a love letter to the game, chapter 5 was a breakup text. It didn't feel like fortnite, didn't play like fortnite, didn't look like fortnite. It just wasnt fortnite. Fortnite is a cartoony battle royale game, ch5 was a cash grab. It took away locker rarity, destroyed the UI, added the new LTM's they are trying so desperately to make worse and it was just horrible. People say OG fortnite was all nostalgia but it just wasnt. They somehow managed to split the community into SIX DIFFERENT FAN BASES they have to cater to. Casual, Competitive, Lego, Festival and rocket racing. This isnt progress, this is ripping away its identity

Chapter 5 has been one of the best chapters. Amazing POIs and map changes, consistent and great content mid-seasons, mini-events, the story is returning in full force. This is without the Metaverse stuff too which is awesome.

You are wrong. People are not blinded by nostalgia, it was simpler then and had it's own identity. I wouldn't say it's the best chapter (I would say chapter 2 is slightly better overall), but it's easily second. It wasn't the same content over and over, each season had a new theme that completely switched up the meta. Think about season 7, 8, 9 and especially X.
