I still don't get why Mechina isn't getting a bigger following after all this time. I mean the music is great and the band might be the most underrated band of all time. The sound is very distinct as well, you can definitely tell which band it is just by listening, a hard thing nowadays when some groups sound almost the same.
Firstly they don't tour which is a huge thing in the metal scene. Everywhere you can read about how this band or this band is amazing to see live. Fans need interactions and fests are a huge reputation jump. They also are on auto-production (or independant) which is great for your own view of the band, you basically do whatever you want in the time you want but no labels means less exposure and no distribution of the material, sadly. They aren't very active on media stuff, metal websites and social networks which is the most significant way to show your work today especially music. So yeah the music is great but with all of that you can pretty much say that marketing is non-existent. I don't want to say that to criticize or in a meanly way, it's just how it is, i'm just answering to your comment about why they're pretty unknown. Maybe it's the career they want and whatnot and i'm fine with that. Love Mechina.
It's certainly shocking that it was so difficult to find this band. Absolutely stunning music. And I appreciate what Mrxx is saying, so maybe I just want these folks to be happy and successful. Going strong for 6 years is certainly a good sign. As much as it sucks that more people don't know about them, maybe this music was only meant for a select group of people :P
I only found them through a random Spotify recommendation. no idea how you'd come across them other than that. my taste is incredibly obscure so I doubt the regular metalblistener would get recommended this stuff either
No offense meant but I downloaded a couple of their albums (is it a real band btw or a one man project?) and to be honest after a while I just couldn't make an album from another. They lack that little something that will make us recognize them and trust me I strongly regret this. Still keeping CONQUEROR as a reminder but that CD doesn't spin a lot unfortunately...
You're saying there's another band that does what Mechina does, but better? What's your top suggestion? I know there's tons of amazing music I haven't gotten to yet, but I thought it was about the least saturated genre out there. To quote Alex Rise, "Industrial/cyber metal. For fans of Fear Factory and Sybreed." Mechina is a real band, closely related to Melrose (which I also highly recommend), but they don't play live. Check their Metallum. Choosing a favorite Mechina song to recommend is a challenge. I've listened to the whole 6 hour Compendium many times now and it just doesn't get old for me. I never find the need to skip through anything. Wouldn't change a thing, except I do like the the V.2 mix for Empyrean. I find their vocalists to be very unique. The guitar sounds it like it was squeezed through an alien djent computer. The whole texture follows the lore nicely. You get voices that correspond to the characters and feelings of the plot line. Conqueror is from 2011 but still sounds fresh to me, so if you don't like that one then maybe Mechina is not for you. That being said, maybe give 'em one more chance and try their last album, As Embers Turn to Dust.
Joe, Dave, and Mel! You are lightning years ahead of any other band I've ever heard! The complexity and beauty of each of your songs is just like a whole discography of other bands! Including my own stuff, I admit... But I know what I'm talking about you, bcs I'm a musician and a vocalist, and I write most of the music for my band. Damn I can't wait for the new album! LOVE YOU GUYS
If you haven't already heard of them I highly recommend A Dark Halo. I think you would like them seeing as you already like Mechina, Fear Factory, and Conflict.
@@enki4589 Thanks for reminding me of how good this song is. Now Mechina and A Dark Halo is kind of connected in a way since now that Melrose joined A Dark Halo.
Lindo, mágico, é tudo que minha mente projeta pra uma vida a parte de nós, me faz sonhar e fugir do meu corpo, minha mente viaja, só a música pode fazer isso.
I listen to Acheron straight through track by track at least once a month. I think it is a masterclass in musical storytelling and the tracks blend into each other so well. A true journey. That said, I'm still waiting for Joe to get bored of blast beats
I like this version way more than the original. While the original one included in Acheron sounds more powerful specially Mel's voice, I feel that this one does a much better job at conveying the melancholy and overall feeling of loss that this song aims to evoke. I'm not a huge fan of the entirety of Mechina's work (I could do entirely without the gutural vocals), but Joe has an uncanny talent of creating really moving pieces and atmospheres with his sound (like the instrumental track to Division Through Distance, OMFG). Mel's voice is plain amazing, and if you could bottle it up it would be considered a rare, expensive and fine delicacy.
It gets rid of the pointless symphonic outro that ruins the flow of the song which I honestly prefer. but her vocals are better in the og version for sure.
I forgot just how magical this song was. I haven't been this excited about a band since I first discovered Erra.

@@jeffvalore5010 I forgot about Sybreed. Sucks they broke up.

20000 times amazing!
Напоминаете о себе старыми песнями перед выходом нового альбома? :)
Compendium instrumentals when?
I just bought the compendium set...I don't regret anything
You seriously have to make a soundtrack for Matrix 4
А когда новый альбом?
I wish Mass Effect could have that kind of quality staff roll music again.

the original is better, more powerful. this is like she is falling asleep, still good though
Thank you Sir. I always felt like I am the only one.
