I trained with Buchecha when he was a nobody, teaching at a gym in Wellington, FL, a city in Palm Beach county. Dude was super chill and laid back. He treated everyone with respect and wasn't condescending at all, like some of the bigger names can be. You could feel his passion for BJJ. I'm glad it all worked out for him.

The documentary is aweome. A must-watch for anyone who wants to understand what jiu jitsu is all about. In Turkey we call people like Bucecha "güzel insan" (nice person) to emphasize his good-willed, ethical character. Bucecha is such a person: a legend, and an examplary person.
Flo your best piece yet. Such a pleasure to watch such a beautifully made documentary. Feel the journey as if i was there and the scenery of his upbringing and friends. Remarkable display of character in a true champion that learned how important loss was. Very raw and expressive. I hope part 2 shows some of the technical side of what he accomplished. Thank you for these pieces. Hope for many more. Maybe Roger, Lo, Ryan, Musumeci and other such fighters with spirit that be shared with the rest of the community.
