Definitely always a good idea to look around for parts.

aren't you supposed to take the speedy sleeve lip off once installed?

Why did you put the crank sleeve on? was the crank wore or was that because of the housing being put on that was marred up? Also, is the seal different with the crank sleeve than just one without the crank sleeve? different part numbers? great video

My crank had a wear groove in it, front and back, from all the main seals over the years. Both seals were OEM. No special seal required.

Hey brother just saw your video and want to say thanks for the info. Quick question how is that test main holding up with the repair sleeve? My 24 valve has 356k on it and I've put 2 rear main seals in it with no luck still leaks.

Thank you for reaching out! This project has been super slow coming together but hopefully test firing happens today. I will get back to you once I've got some miles on it and I will probably make an update video because guys are also interested in the transmission rebuild.
That being said, I've used repair sleeves in the past on other equipment and tractors and they held up longer then the seal they accompany. I hope this one does too.

Where did you get that tool to install the wear sleeve?

For the rear main the tool came with the seal from the tractor supply place. I use it all the time as a bolt wash or other bolt tray these days. Let me do some digging and I'll find the link where I bought it.

If anyone out there needs a matching sleeve & seal repair kit for 24 Valve 5.9, The Cummins part # 3926126.

Won't install a part that says China, but then uses a non Cummins repair sleeve and seal.

Thank you for commenting! I think you may have been a little confused about this video. I never said the rear main seal wasn’t a Cummins part. I said anyone who still had a sleeve kit had lost their minds on pricing. At the time I had researched the sleeve kit and found it was made by a company in the US. Had I dug a little deeper I would have found they are owned by a company in India, so I don’t actually know where the sleeve was made. That’s my bad.
I hope this helps clear everything up for you. Have a wonderful day!
