Lol the fact that rob can’t see how much it is for a kid to sacrifice half of his life and just to say “bro that’s normal to these kids in this show” 🤦🏼♂️
Killua told Ikalgo “there’s a difference between risking your life and throwing it away” and that’s the difference between Kurapika and Gon. Kurapika, and the rest of the characters in the arc including Killua, were risking their lives in that war, while Gon, at the end with Pitou, threw his life away because he reached an extremely low point with his self worth. It’s not supposed to be a big typical shounen victory, it’s supposed to be a tragedy.
I agree with you but Kurapika is throwing his life away too. Every second of Emperor Time is 1 hr taken away from his life and for 2 of his chain abilities it requires him to be in Emperor Time. Two things can be true. Just because Gon did it in a different way and used up more years does not mean Kurapika is not also throwing away time from his life in order to take down his enemies
toxicsewerrat In order to accomplish his tasks Kurapika will need to use Emperor Time often. It’s not just risking, he deliberately chose these stipulations that will take away time off his life in order to gain power.
@@nothingspecial8114 I would call what Kurapika did a calculated risk, where he can control the outcome to benefit him mostly but what Gon did was pretty much really stupid, for one he didn't even know Kite that well, and he pretty much risked it all for nothing.

He is so stupid, he doesn't pay attention to detail and listens to key words that might hint toward him being right about something stupid, or confirming something he watched ahead to find out about, and missed/talks over the most important thing and gets shit wrong

I can't wait until we get to the NEXT arc. And we see Gon. Y'all real ones know what I'm talking about. Then Rob's gonna shut the FUCK up. "Rage power" my ass. This was SACRIFICE.
"Why didnt he save that for the king tho?!" Gon Sacrificed EVERYTHING for that power, in his words "I don't care anymore, I want to kill Pitou". He didn't care about his life, his nen, his friends, his family, the world, THE KING, he cared about absolutely NOTHING at that point except killing Pitou. Gon has NEVER been normal, Its hard to notice sometimes but He is willing to sacrifice his arm to prove a point vs the bomber. he thinks losing his arm vs pitou is a good thing, he praised the con man for being a con man, he became friends instantly with an assassin kid who snatches hearts. Gon's morality radar was broken from the start. This is the end result of that. Meanwhile Killua learns to be human.
@@kc_h7h right. Something like Gon doesn't see right or wrong. He just likes anything he finds interesting. And zepile even hinted that this was dangerous I think
@@caszandra.jade_ First, syntax, space out your giant word salad of a comment. Second, how'd you agree with me / the thread and then disagree with me in the same comment. Lastly, No, Gon is definitely not a normal kid by any means at all. No normal kid is like "let me blow my arm off to test my skills against this mass murdering bomber... even though we have a plan to capture him already". That's just ONE of his thoughts. Another could be how dude just grazes through SO MANY PEOPLE BEING MURDERED/KILLED in the Hunter Examination. Or How about when he's captured by the spiders and he's just chill? Gon is a type of __path, I'm not sure which but he's been hinted at since the start of the anime with the bears and finally comes to fruit here. He decides what is "right" or "good" by how interesting he finds it at that point. Period. So if one of the cards in greed island murders everyone within a 50 yard radius, but has sparklers. Gon might find that "amazing and colorful" and there-forth really cool to see. Meanwhile everyone is dying painfully.
Gon always tries to find the best in people. No matter what they do, he tries to just forgive them. It's a very childish mentality and is very frustrating to watch sometimes but it makes his scene all the more powerful. Gon just broke, he had enough, there was no forgiveness left in him. Pitou was just taking advantage of Gon's niceness and Gon broke and wanted to make Pitou pay for it. And that, she did.
@@Nacht294 and ultra instinct is a rip-off of killua's godspeed , and if you read the current arc of dragon Ball manga you'll notice they start to ripoff the nen system of hxh , so nope maybe it inspired but the same thing we can say about hxh because it also inspired generations of anime and still does ,
Craziest part is how Gon lost that light in his eyes after he realized Kite couldn’t be brought back. The light that Hanzo talked about in the hunter exam when they fought
Before the palace invasion, Killuah is pondering the cause of King's self inflicted injury. He asks Gon, "When would you hurt yourself?" To which Gon replies, "When I can't forgive myself". Togashi = Goat
Crazy especially knowing how much he blamed his self after Kite's death and faced with reality that he can no longer be saved he abandoned everything at that point
To be honest, I can kind of see Rob's case. The start of the show made it seem like Kurapika, Leorio, Gon, and Killua were the main 4 and would do everything together. Having entire arcs without half of them is surprising.
He didn't sacrifice a part of his life, he sacrificed everything. Gon himself says "I don't care if this is the end" meaning he doesn't care if he ends up dieing as long as pitou dies in the process. Just wait until you see gons condition after, it definitely doesn't look like a "part" of his life was sacrificed.
he actually wished for a fate worse then death being in a critcal state feeling emense pain wishing he could die to escape the agony and then finally dying
@@d.k1434 Meruem 100% .. the english translation is off .. Pitou didn't say his power was equal to the king .. she said " His fangs could reach the king " . That's not the same ... Also Netero couldn't do a thing to Meruem who was not even fighting seriously
From the start of this palace invasion mission, Gon really didn't give 2 shits about killing the King, or what was good for the human race 😅 he just wanted to heal Kite, or get revenge, or some combo of the two
"At one point this might be too much for the revenge.." "You're saying this is normal Rob? She's dead" The Anime King never disappoints! Good job on the insights Wellz. When Rob was shouting for Gon to rage more and questioning the comments why this is not good for Gon I couldn't stop cringing. At least Wellz and sometimes Gerry and Pat gets it. This was a freaking masterpiece. All the parallels between the journey of Meruem becoming more human and Gon becoming a monster. Even their sitting position where they have their arms on their knees were freaking awesome. These little details are just so nuanced that when rewatching HxH you learn more. And yes Rob, this is not good for a 12 year old kid, emotionally, mentally and physically. If you need more evidence, wait for the next episodes and see what happened to Gon haha. P.S. I never forgot that 5. Now give it back to Wellz HAHAHAHAHA
"WhY dIDnT He SaVe ThAt FoR Da KiNg?" Because Rob, he wasn't in control of his rage like you proclaimed lol. Also Pitou didn't have to die because the hunters achieved the goal of separating the guards from the King. Gon was on a personal mission to get Kite back and then get revenge. Patric's argument didn't make any sense to me either. Lol good reaction tho
because for his Nen condition he demanded power to defeat Pitou so his power ends and can only be used for Pitou (like in Kurapika case: his condition is to die if he uses the unbroken chain on others than the phantoms)
Pitou did need to die. We don't know what she would do if she learned Mereum and the Guard were dying. She could have stayed with him and died or she could have went off to become a Queen and get revenge on humans in his name.
Rob saying “why didn’t he [gon] save it for the king though” proves his lack of empathy, understanding, and straight up analytical skills. Safe to say, hxh is not a show for people like this. (Tho of course it doesn’t necessarily mean he can’t enjoy it) In the process of the show developing Killua’s character, Gon’s was a rock the whole time. Only being revealed from time to time as incredibly dangerous. He doesn’t care about what’s right or wrong, what matters to him is his curiosity, AND his emotions. He’s extremely selfish and that’s exactly what makes him human. It’s what makes him an incredible protagonist. He didn’t turn in to his future form just because of willpower, he needed a catalyst. The uncontainable rage he got from learning that Kite’s indeed dead literally made him go psycho. He didn’t know what was right or wrong anymore. It’s what thirsting revenge fueled by intense rage does to you. You can’t expect him to think logically in this situation. Nen has been explained from the start to be conditional. The same way Kurapika received his ability to be unbeatable from spiders, Gon was able to “skip” time and training itself to become his prime form by sacrificing his ability to use nen (essentially, his life), in exchange.
Just to add to this - He didn't just sacrifice nen. He sacrificed 'everything'. All his future potential and his own life (he was prepared to die and he didn't care if the nen contract would kill him just to gain this power) as well as the nen just to gain that power. He literally says he doesn't care anymore about what happens to himself.
Each time they kept mentioning about the condition in this show I had to keep saying keep an eye on it understand it cause it's coming back. If this is dragon ball reminisce, are they really ready for FMAB
killua did a beatiful foreshadowing after he got released from the hospital. he told ikalgo "but theres a huge difference between risking a life and throwing it away" while talking about fighting the ants and gon just did exactly that.. he threw it away
Almost what Kilua said to Ikalgo... Also one risks one's life for a greater cause like a mission (which is totally out the window at this point for Gon) . One gives up one's life if one has no reason to live anymore. Gon doesn't see a point anymore. He literally says: "I don't care anymore"
@@fusifaafia1363 No. This was a just like for Kurapika. Gon exchanged his life against this power. The power he got was IF Gon trained 20 years of his life non stop (no sleep, no eating, not a single second spared for anything but training) which is impossible for anyone because you need to eat and sleep etc so he'll never reach this level in 20 years but maybe at the end when he's old? who knows. Yuta Nakamoto u don’t have to necessarily rage to get the power. You just have to make a contract they explained it with kurapika the more strict your contract the stronger your nen is. Even gon said “I don’t care if this is the end” he really didn’t rage the power out of himself like say goku for instance he made a contract with himself saying he’s prepared to never use nen again. Killua could do the same thing same with everyone else that has nen as long as it’s strict they can acquire a lot of nen power. Without ever raging or even being mad.
The relationship between Killua and Gon is truly one of the most beautiful things about this anime. This arc put them through so much and Killua trying to save Gon from himself moments, hit me so hard.
I cant believe that yall arent seeing the parallel between gon and the king. The king becomes more human with his experiences and gon becomes a monster with no control of his emotions. Hunter X Hunter

Gon made a condition where he could be to a point where he can body pitou with the sacrifice of his nen.Its a condition just like what kurapika did on his chains. Also, Pitous was showing gratitude to Gon because he used this power on her instead of the king as she's trying to protect him from all threats. ALSO the reason pitou came back up and attacked gon is because yes SHE was dead, But because of her devotion to the king and protecting him it activated her power which is because of nen after death. Her Nen amplified after death on pitou with the sole purpose of killing gon.Oh and btw. Not everyone would get to Gon's level if they sacrificed decades of their life for power.Remember gon is a one of a kind in nen.
MisterMoe Just to clarify a slight bit on your last sentence because it can be mistaken. Some people might take it as Pitou having gratitude that Gon felt she was a worthy opponent to use it on her instead of the King. However, she felt gratitude that Gon was going to use his power to kill her so that the King was still going to be alive with no threat.

Sam Rahman HxH has made many DBZ references and is shown to have inspirations from DBZ, if you actually saw the entire DBZ series and not just HxH then you noticed that in the adult Gon transformation scene there was some inspiration from the SSJ scene. there are two things to remember from this, we've been told about "nen after death becoming stronger if the emotion is strong enough" And "putting conditions on yourself to amplify your nen." Both were used in these episodes seamlessly. Edit: They also forgot to mention how kite himself said that if he felt like this was too much for them he would send them away, in the end he didn't want them to die or risk their lives just for a single fight they couldn't win without sacrificing themselves. And what did he say when pituo came in, he told them to run knowing they weren't ready for them.
Gon literally said "IDC if this is the end" He did make a contract just wasn't aware. In that moment when he said that, that was him "signing" the contract and after that he gains that power.. Wellz the only one who got it.
43:37 so what you're saying Rob is that Kite would of wanted Gon to tear down his own psyche, humanity and have a nervous breakdown just to go far enough to put a nen restriction on himself of transforming into his prime self and then having his life force drained. Kite said to them to prepare for the worse or even death, not to make the key things that make them human and in control lost 😑
Its really unfair of you Rob, everyone listen to you when you making a point but you always yelling getting mad and talking over the others when they try to make theirs. Let them finish what they want to say like you want it for you damn
We get to see Gons max potential that should be achieved in 20 years of experience, blood, sweat and intuitive survival. Both Pitou and Gon were willing to give their lives, and proved it. Honestly, they were both as monstrous and courageous in that moment. Can't wait for Dark Continent arc to be anime-adapted. Rob wild, lol.
The being a kid point still stands. It couldn’t be more evident that regardless of any circumstance they are involved in both Killua and Gon are still kids at heart. I mean Gon is literally just a kid trying to find his dad.

Even knowing that "this is hell" isn't really going to prepare you for situations you've never been in, as you can see from Gon's downfall, he was NOT ready for this. Understand that from the beginning of the series, it is repeatedly shown and stated that both gon and killua are blessed with immense talent and infinite potential, it is something almost every character they come in contact with notices, it is why hisoka took such an interest, why wing and bisky trained them, why nobunaga wanted them to join the troupe ( other than gon reminding him of uvogin and his enhancer personality), why kite even let them accompany him on this journey knowing its severity, and especially why pitou considered gon a threat to the king before his transformation etc. she states as she slips into unconsciousness how severe this sacrifice was because she knew gon’s potential
The guys on the ends, especially Rob are the most insightful. Kurapika did put his future on the line with his nen. 1 second of emporer time= 1 hour taken from his lifespan. He's used over 9 hours in his pursuit of revenge/justice, 3.7 years. Also, Kite did warn them what they were getting into and when he realized the opponents true level ordered them to dip. It was his fault for misjudging the situation but showed accountability by sacrificing himself for their escape. It was then on them when they chose to return.

COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER! Nice one! Thank you! Tell em!
The discussion at the end got me heated HAHA
Just to add to this - He didn't just sacrifice nen. He sacrificed 'everything'. All his future potential and his own life (he was prepared to die and he didn't care if the nen contract would kill him just to gain this power) as well as the nen just to gain that power. He literally says he doesn't care anymore about what happens to himself.
Rttv needs to heart this and bring this to the top so Rob can see

Pat and Rob don't understand that there is a difference between risking your life, and giving it up out of pure rage
killua did a beatiful foreshadowing after he got released from the hospital. he told ikalgo "but theres a huge difference between risking a life and throwing it away" while talking about fighting the ants and gon just did exactly that.. he threw it away
Not in this case. They are fighting for their lives just being there. Nothing is no sick thing as a extreme sacrifice in those situations
Gon at the end of the day is GIVING UP his life, different than risking it.
He gave up to win though
Jhabenjaquince he just sacrificed decades of life so that means he’s still not dead he just really old so ya

Yuta Nakamoto u don’t have to necessarily rage to get the power. You just have to make a contract they explained it with kurapika the more strict your contract the stronger your nen is. Shout-out to Green Hoodie for actually understanding the meaning and depth of the entire series and standing up to the Rob guy for trying to diminish the tragedy that this entire episode portrayed, into a shonen victory full of hype. There is not a single thing about this episode that felt good or relieving. I will never understand how watching a 14 year old throw away his life because of the immense grief and pain he's going through, is "normal". The Rob dude sounds like someone with no media literacy and the emotional intelligence of a caterpillar, and his discussion was a hard watch.
Rob seems to be watching an entirely different show in his head... 😧
No Rob this isn’t anything like Dragon Ball..

HxH has made many DBZ references and is shown to have inspirations from DBZ, if you actually saw the entire DBZ series and not just HxH then you noticed that in the adult Gon transformation scene there was some inspiration from the SSJ scene. Plus Meruem’s design is literally inspired off both Frieza and Cell, it’s obvious the creator of HxH is a DBZ fan
The Rational Saiyan people just love to disrespect dragon ball
@@Vision-lz4ru HxH is wy better anime than DBZ ,, i dont know whether the creator is DBZ fan or not but hxh is not inspired from dbz ,,,
@Aesthetic Muscle • 50 years ago gon powering up was beter than that random DBZ shit where that goku transforms apprently for no reason at all ,,,, in this fight gon transformed by accumulating all his nen and sacrificing himself ,,, dbz in a nutshell is atatatatatatatatta , ahhhhhahhhhhahhhhhhhh ,, an dthat's it ,,
HxH has a lot more story and emotion behind it than dbz ,,,
as far as hand to hand combat goes never ever use dbz as an example ,,, dbz was the first anime that i watched (did not completed it) i was hyped but then i wathced other anime and i realized jsut how bad it is in comparison to other anime ,,
its pathetic in terms of chroographing hand to hand combat ,,, apart from few moments in the entire dragon ball history its all just atatatataataaaataaa
Most of us haven't noticed that the mentality of gon from his first appearance in the anime wasn't a normal one he was always calm about killing ppl and watching ppl get killed. Killua is understandable because he was raised in a assassin family but gon wasn't yet he's ok with everything death related. Gon has always been metally unstable not accepting kites death even tho deep inside he knew he was dead my nigga is a whole psycho for his age my g😂😂
I hate how rob still doesn’t get that’s not gon anymore
Yonis Ali ok it’s gon physically but currently it not gon mentally.i guess the best way I can explain it is with the comparison of the king and gon, where the king finds his humanity and gon losses his, for example you know who he got mad at the truope for killing and using ppl as hostages, in this arc you she him using komage as a hostage and even threatened to kill her
F.B.I AGENT rob is literally the only one who said that wasn’t gon while the rest said it was still him... tf u talking about

When gon transformed.. i was so shocked and tears started falling because i was scared. He said he didnt care if it was the end. Why........ can people undertand that omg rob pls. It wasnt just RAge
After this reaction i give up. Rob has zero empathy. He will never understand this show. I'll just ignore him from now on...

Wellz letting Rob know what’s up in the discussion 😂
That discussion had me heated at times lmao I’m with Wellz on that discussion

The narrator said that Gon was punching an already broken Pitou. So yeah he knew Pitou was already dead.
rob completely missed the point of this entire show...i thought he'd finally catch on after this episode but nah
Dude thought Gon telling Killua he didn't care was right and was Gon being real and that Killua was stupid for trying to interfere. I gave up at that point.
@@jackwhitehead7747 i stopped getting annoyed at the whole 'willpower' thing cos i thought that it would make this reaction evennn better when he finally saw the point this scene was tryna make..but nah
He's too fuckin stupid, that's why he likes DBZ and Naruto so much. Don't get me wrong, both are great anime shows, but really straightforward, HxH has levels to everyepisode.
@@santiagoz.s.1024 Naruto fights were complex before war arc stop acting like it's all stupid shit
@@mjhmab I said the guy was stupid, no the animes. I even actually said this : "Don't get me wrong, both are great anime shows"...Learn to read.
there are two things to remember from this, we've been told about "nen after death becoming stronger if the emotion is strong enough" And "putting conditions on yourself to amplify your nen." Both were used in these episodes seamlessly.
He didn't mean that Kite wanted Gon to cry and have a mental breakdown, he meant that he was trusting Gon to kill Pitou... 🤭
Saul Moses No
like...Gon sacrificed his nen to do this. At this point you're like - how will he ever meet his father? he can't be a hunter anymore
@@rivermana was gonna die regardless anyway so your point is invalid
Saul Moses Late reply but it was pretty clear that Kite didn’t want Gon to fight Pitou

Rob wild, lol.
rob just completely misunderstands everything about this show, so stupid its hilarious 😂.
Foreal though, I’m like what the fuck 🤣
I can already see rob falling asleep to one of the best endings to an arc in all of anime
The being a kid point still stands. It couldn’t be more evident that regardless of any circumstance they are involved in both Killua and Gon are still kids at heart. I mean Gon is literally just a kid trying to find his dad.
The Rob willpower rewind we’ve been waiting for.

I watched the reaction but I'm not going to watch the discussion. I'm pretty sure Rob is going to ruin the whole thing like he did in most episodes in this arc. Wellz just proved in the ep that why he is called the anime king
I saw Rob 50 episodes away ruining this "131", he never fails to impress.
😂
HHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHA
Wellz is right here. Its standard for these characters to fight for their life because thats survival instinct. Even knowing that "this is hell" isn't really going to prepare you for situations you've never been in, as you can see from Gon's downfall, he was NOT ready for this. But here Gon lost it, his anger forced him to sacrifice his future for 5 minutes of power.
Pitou was dead when she rose up without her head btw. It’s just “Nen after death” activated her Nen ability.
Ohh shit Wells making that arm connection... He's on one. He be seeing that deep level shit
❤
If anybody didnt make that arm connection, they need a brain transplant.
Gon even says he's like Kite when he lost his arm though, reading the subtitles isn't *that* deep.
@@halosaft It's not that. Wells didn't point out that he lost his arm like Kite. He pointed out that Gon probably did that on purpose instead of it being an accident. That's what OP is getting at. This distinction was not made in the sub titles. Ironic you miss the context. Either that or you didn't watch their commentary all the way through at the end to get the full context when Wells brought this up.
@@PhoenixAttact That's hinted at in the subtitles by Gon saying he feels redeemed a little after he lost his arm. Because he got the same treatment Kite got.
And I wouldn't be able to respond to your childishly snide second half of that comment because I don't know whether I watched it all or not. This was a comment made over a year ago.

just remember how gon was telling kurapika not to kill for revenge and let his rage control him but now when he is in the situation it is different it is an amazing character development and showing another side of gon or humanity and the ants
This is very different to dragon ball power ups that make no sense, gon literally gave up on life, concentrating all his potential nen in one moment to transform. dont ever disrespect hxh foo
"Why didn't he save it for the king"
His beef was with pitou just like you're faviorite character's beef is with the Phantom troup Rob
Edit: troup, troupe? Shit
yeah it’s troupe
I called it as soon as they reach this episode Rob was just going to scream Willpower crap and not understand what was actually going on.
Wellz energy in this one is fire 🔥
❤💚
Seems like wells and Jerry are the only people who care about gon and legitimately know what was going on with him
The guys on the ends, especially Rob are the most insightful.
Just cause a kid act grown doesn't mean they are grown lol
Gon or Rob?
