He basically made a nen deal/restriction just like Kurapika did to strengthen his chains against the spiders, except the deal was much more severe in Gon's case where he sacrificed all his nen and whatever he learned to become a temporary monster. In HxH, nen users can often strengthen their abilities with restrictions but the greater the restriction, the greater the power. It's a double edged sword. Also what Pitou used to attack Gon after he killed her is known as "Nen after death" which is nen that can be directed at the enemy in any way after death if the user feels immense hatred towards that person and in Pitou's case, she's so worried about Gon killing the king/Meruem that "Nen after death" was enabled. @@ey.9329 he did make a pact similar to kurapika but it wasn't to transform or anything like that. It was this "I want the power to kill pitou, whatever that costs i'll pay it". Through the entire anime it's said that Gon can be a "monster", and this is it. What he does here is a vow/restriction "I don't care if this is the end, so I will use everything" He is trading everything (his potential, his life and nen) in exchange for the enough aura to defeat Pitou. Because it's too much aura for his "child body" his body also matures to an age that can actually take the amount of aura he is gaining.

Kite taught Gon to go for the head in their encounter together. So, he kinda just kept putting full power Jajanken blasts on Pitou's dome, and only her dome, for a while. His nen potential was always said to be incredibly high. What he did was sacrifice all of that for the power to kill Pitou. Pitou was worried about him going after the King, but he literally didn't care about anything but killing Pitou right then and there. One of Pitou's Nen abilities was to control things with her nen marionette. The same marionette could be used to increase her physical abilities significantly. Since she was worried about Gon killing the King, her ability took over her dead corpse and tried to go for Gon, taking his arm. What a lot of people believe, however, is that Gon intentionally allowed her to take it, since she'd taken Kite's arm in the first encounter.
Bro, I just found your channel with this video, and it's possibly the best way to get into your reactions, when I see people react to HxH, THIS episode is what brought everything down for me! i remember crying watching this fight, probably the only time i couldn't find any happiness watching a protagonist exceed themself and destroy their enemy, it will never be a satisfying fight..
Seriously, i love this anime, just love seeing other people react to it and comment on this masterpiece. I have nothing to complain on this anime, it tackled the power system comprehensively, it played with our emotions, not everything is black and white, people who are cheerful and naive can succumb to despair. And this shows everything has a price, power does not come naturally, others maybe talented compared to other characters but to attain godlike status, they endured or traded their life, plus it used a complex system to explain power levels that simple will power does not equate to you easily winning, it employs heavy ass strategies at the expense of prolonging an episode which I will never complain. To you who read up to this point, have a good day!
Every reaction to this episode is always about Gon. Nobody talks about how sad and brutal Pitou's death is. I think that's what makes this episode way more harrowing for me than just the tragedy involving Gon.

Before all this you need to understand how important Kite was to Gon in the manga kite was the very first character to appear and heβs one the reason Gon wanted to be a Hunter heβs like a big brother figure to him heβs as important to Gon as Shanks to Luffy
Gon basically taped into the full potential of his nen abilities before his body could handle the power. Once he entered that form he was pretty much committing suicide

I don't know if someone else said this, but what Gon did is pretty much give up on using nen after this fight (and pretty much giving up his life too). Thus reaching in that very moment, the peak of his talent strenght/nen wise.
There are still things about nen that you don't know at this stage of the manga, but Pitou attacking even being dead is legit, this isn't something never seen before.
Explanation : you know how kurapika has a Limitation which is he can use Chain jail only on the phantom trope members, and if he used it on anyone else he will die? Gon did the same, he is basically burning through his whole life energy to aquire enough nen to kill pitou and only pitou How much did he burn? 10 years? 20? With every punch, every jajankin his life is reduced, he aquired so much power that that first kick with no nen attached made pitou vomit blood while it was falling from the sky Ps: during the black and white scene you can hear killua's footsteps for the first time in the whole series when he jumped to push gon
As we know, nen abilities are more powerful dependent on the restrictions placed on the ability and the raw talent of the user. For example,: Kurapika's Chain Jail is basically unbreakable and can completely deactivate the nen of those trapped in it, but it can ONLY be used against members of the Phantom Troupe or he will die. Chain Jail is traight up broken because of those extremely strict limitations. What Gon did here is similar, he basically said, "Take everything I have, and ever will have. My life, my nen, my talent, my potential, everything, i don't care if I suffer a fate worse than death after this" for the ability to temporarily gain the body and power he would have if he did nothing but train for decades. In theory any nen user can do this, however it requires an insane mental state and powerful desire (you have to wholeheartedly be willing to suffer a fate worse than death). It can be classified as a specialist ability that manifested due to Gon's desire for revenge. It's very similar to Bisky's ability to turn into a little girl which manifested itself after years of her hating how big and muscular she looks. One note, suppressing the power you already have is a lot simpler, and easier than creating power from nowhere, which is why Bisky's transformation doesn't require as extreme of a restriction and desire as Gon's.
U are without a doubt one of the best hunter x hunter reactions π And also u already reached this episode in no time while some are still reacting to it after more than a year π

Nen after death is what Pitou "used", something that will be important from now on, and Gon he sacrificed all of his nen to kill Pitou, he'll never use nen again
One thing alot of people forget is that gon is an enhancer, so he makes a restriction and enhances his body to maturity, god i love hunterxhunter
he didnt shorten his lifespan, he used the rules of nen to get powers in exchange for a strong vow, and since he's an enhancer ke "buffed" his muscles and entire body to the point where it matured to the peak of his potential, the price is his life (tho he still lives)
Remember he said he doesn't care if it's the end? He didn't use "some time" he exchanged his entire future for power.

"Not like this" OH MY GOD πππ
Almost every great anime has one defining scene that pushes it into masterpiece territory. For HxH, this is it. It's only keeps getting better man.
Since Kite's death gon has gone through the ten stages of grief
6:08 SIDE STEP THE ULTIMATE MOVE ON ANIME
There are still things about nen that you don't know at this stage of the manga, but Pitou attacking even being dead is legit, this isn't something never seen before.
It was so hard to not wait for this episode!! AHHH I'm happy you got to see this one and see your reaction!!
If you remeber what Kurapika did to get power, that might give you insight into what Gon did.
whoa that opening edit was π₯
Explanation : you know how kurapika has a Limitation which is he can use Chain jail only on the phantom trope members, and if he used it on anyone else he will die?
Gon did the same, he is basically burning through his whole life energy to aquire enough nen to kill pitou and only pitou
How much did he burn? 10 years? 20?
With every punch, every jajankin his life is reduced, he aquired so much power that that first kick with no nen attached made pitou vomit blood while it was falling from the sky
Ps: during the black and white scene you can hear killua's footsteps for the first time in the whole series when he jumped to push gon
I like that you upload highly anticipated chapters earlier than usual
In a nutshell gon used ALL the power he'll even get from decades of training and for that he gave up his ability to use nen ever again
Now think about how the other royal guards werent even badly damaged and she is the strongest of them xD
10:35 "So...Gon has some power that clearly have shaved his life off of his life." FTFY
I really need to rewatch this series.
This beat down from that kick to a punch was like a combo in smash ultimate lmfao
U are without a doubt one of the best hunter x hunter reactions π
And also u already reached this episode in no time while some are still reacting to it after more than a year π
THE STRESS ON FACIAL EXPRESSION IS REALLπ€£π€£β€οΈβ€οΈ
Give me goose bump every time I watch it
Got really maxed out, I mean he left the earth and wanted only violence.
Literally been waiting since episode 1!! π ππΎ
Pitou: Kite is already dead
Gon: No U
