- I grew up in Tucson but moved to Show Low about 20 years ago. This is the second leg of what has become my drive home over the years.
This is the second part of a drive from Tucson, AZ to Show Low, AZ. It starts in Globe, AZ and ends in Show Low, AZ. This is my favorite part of the drive. Driving from the desert floor up the rim into the pine forests of the White Mountains. The drive through the Salt River Canyon is always pretty and I sure do love winding roads.
Going from 3,510 ft (1,070 m) to 6,345 ft (1,934 m).

@@SciStuff I just happened to check out the amount of snow you guys get. You get more than i do in South Jersey. Im trying to get away from the snow. ugh
@@Sjrick It is the best kind of snow. It only snows for a couple days and then it is gone in a couple weeks. :)
@@SciStuff Im more concerned about driving. Plus do you guys get black ice ? I have to admit your roads are so much better than ours. I just get tired of the snow

How are the inclines? Thinking about taking this route rather than 87 to 260 in big Hino truck
They are pretty heavy through the canyon but I see folks pulling boats, fifth wheels and big rigs do it all the time.
How many miles is this stretch of hwy 60
It's right around 90 miles.
WHY?
Why not? It's a pretty drive. It's a shame the camera doesn't do it the justice it deserves.
You really need to slow down. You're going way, way too fast for this drive.
