I'm not sure I've ever watched a video with such conflicting emotions. At first I was angry at him, full of rage as he was explaining his experiences. As the video went on, I noticed his conscious come into play. He without a doubt regrets what he's done. In the end, it's the TRUTH that prevailed, and with Allah's will, and the truth shall set him free. Near the end of the video, I was full of sorrow, compassion, forgiveness, and amazement. Every prophet had a quality in which they excelled in. Examples: Noah was proficient in calling people to God. Abraham had immense forbearance. Moses had great courage. Eesa (Christ) had amazing compassion.

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, had equal to them in every attribute, but he had one attribute he specifically excelled in like no other, and it was his disposition, ie, the perfect way in how he dealt with others. A very small example is that he never didn’t smile from his heart when he met people. Or that if he was talking to someone he would face them out of respect. He did dad jokes. He once didn’t share grapes that were gifted to him by a poor person. His companions later inquired as to why he didn’t share like he usually does. He said “I ate them all because they were sour. Had I shared them with would have broken the man’s heart by expressing how sour they were” instead, he ate them all, smiling, thanking the poor man for his gift. He never lied. He never broke a promise. His speech was perfect and efficient, yet easy for the simpletons to understand. He smelled of musk and had no shadow. Literally no shadow. He was radiant. Prophet Joseph was given half the beauty of God’s creation. Prophet Muhammad’s beauty was not the kind that would tempt women, rather it was a beauty of awesomeness, and equal to the entire creation. You can tell how much we love him and want to have a thousandth of his qualities.
It is in the Quran that God says “you (ie Muhammad) are of a sublime disposition”.
Prophet Muhammad also did say (more or less the meaning) that the mark of his followers is their high disposition.

He was an adult when he joined...he didn't just do his compulsory time. I find it very hard to be so forgiving towards someone who committed war crimes. As soldiers we are responsible for our own actions and following orders is not a defence for war crimes. You can try to make up for it, you can try to improve the world to atone for what you have done or even provide evidence to help solve cases.

My father was catholic and converted to Islam at 83, the year he passed away. Be open minded and read the Quran, there are some good translations (The Clear Quran is a good one).

I am Jewish and at first I didn't want to listen to this former IDF soldier because I thought he would spout Zionist bigotry that would make me very angry. But within a few minutes, I was almost in tears. I wish him inner peace and a steady recovery. I am a therapist who works with trauma. I do believe that, when he is ready to do so, speaking out and telling his story wherever and whenever he can would do both him and others a world of good. And doing good deeds, helping others, perhaps especially children, could be very healing over time. I hope he gets all the support he needs.

I am Scottish and my aunt married a Muslim in the 1960s and I can vouch that their home has always been open to everyone and they do not judge people's past. They have compassion for the person in front of them. They are really beautiful people the most loving of all the people I know.

I’m Scottish & some of the most humble & most respectful people I have known throughout my 40+ years of living in working class housing schemes in Scotland,have been Muslim peoples & there have been dozens of Muslims in the working class schemes/council estates that I grew up in throughout my life. I’ve literally had zero problems with a single Muslim person in my ENTIRE life of living side by side with Muslims as neighbours & I’ve had A LOT of negative & violent run ins with people during my younger & more wild years, as in between my late teens, up until my mid 30s but not a single one was with a Muslim.

I am a Christian and am amazed by the forgiveness in this comment section. I rarely, if ever have seen, Christians be this forgiving even though we are supposed to forgive everyone.
Yes the forgiving comments are amazing, especially from the Palestinians inc those who actually state they themselves suffered from what this IDF guy describes he and his soldiers mates were doing to them. Given our human failings it’s difficult to forgive cause we’re inclined to seek revenge. But in Islam it’s unforgiving not to forgive someone who acknowledges his past wrongs, and Allah will not forgive you for it. It makes sense if you think about it: if we forgive then there is no more feeling of animosity, hatred and revenge which is good for both sides and society. Whereas if we don’t forgive then the feud will continue with all the negative consequences again for both sides and all. You say you’re Christian and you don’t see this kind of forgiveness in Christianity. Jesus was real but his message was corrupted by the romans etc…I say this with respect. Just use your logic: why would he pay for our sins? Imagine running a society on this basis: a judge knowingly condemning an innocent person for the crime of another. Would you as a mother punish one of your children for the wrong of another child? Can a God be killed by his creation? Jesus asked to be saved by God: “Eli Eli ma Sabakh tani! Father Father why has thou forsaken me”…”Father lift this cups from me”. This shows he didn’t want to die let alone for our sins. Otherwise he wouldn’t have questioned his faith or God’s plan- God’s messengers must be 100% obedient. Further if he was God and didn’t want to die why did allow himself to die, doesn’t make sense. As a woman, why should all women suffer childbirth prangs cause of 1 woman Eve mistake? Doesn’t make sense, otherwise God’s unjust and unfair, yet these are the attributes of the devil not God. The prangs are just natural physical phenomena, any openings/stretching of part of body is painful even a needle pricking the skin. Finally as this video quotes 1 Samuel 15:3 “kill every men, women, children, sucklings, donkeys”. This is genocide particularly with regard to kids and animals. Would Go instruct us to commit Genocide against one another perpetuating this horrible human interaction til eternity, instead of peaceful coexistence (which forgiveness does bring). All the above shows the Bible has been tampered with by scribes (it actually says so in the Old Testament). I’d recommend to read just the chapter on Jesus in the Quran, named after his mother Mariam(Mary).

I’m so glad that you see and read all the comments because please know that Islam is a way of life that is just and being humble and submit to the will of Allah. Be kind and nonjudgmental to anyone because that’s Allah job to judge us. Allah has commented us to accept a person is sincere when they repent and accept and submit to Allah. I truly urge you to look into Islam not to revert but to learn about truth of Islam. You will be pleasantly surprised how Muslims are always stand with the oppressed.
The Quran tells us “forgive, don’t you like that Allah forgives you” this verse always gets me, it humbles me, changed perspective immediately and after I cry I am able to see the crack where the light enters and I feel renewed and able to forgive. We are taught the harder it is to forgive the more pleased Allah is with us when we do, because although he is a just god who understands what happened to us, he encourages forgiveness because in his wisdom he knows there is good in it for us. It takes us away from resentment and towards contentment/inner peace. We become resolution oriented instead of conflict. Sometimes trials happen just to test if we would forgive for the sake of Allah sincerely and wholeheartedly. These trials however difficult works through the soul and no person is the same as they were in the beginning of it. It truly transforms you when you don’t run away from yourself.
