  • Let's make a coil with parts you may have lying around that will same you some cash with very little effort. Works for any brand including Bally, Stern, Gottlieb and all the rest. This is a perfect hack to get your machine up and running on the cheap.

It is refreshing to see someone use what they have at hand rather than just buy a new part

With an Arduino you can make a device that can count the turns of your coil. and you can reuse coil wire from an old CRT TV that controls the demagnetization that surrounds the tube.

Anything with an electric motor should be a good source of wire also. Microwave transformers, and microwave turntable motors have very thin gauge wire. Washing machine pumps and old drum motors are another. One mans trash huh 😄

Great job. Thanks for sharing your method. Who needs fancy tools huh. I suppose there's probably a 3D printable coil winding machine out there on the web somewhere.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. PBR coils are a lot cheaper than Marco.

He could buy a 31 gage wire and solder it to make up the length. I'm sure a spool of wire is cheap

My old boss had a lathe for this, he got in the forties. He had to wrap his own coils because of the war. Then we used it to turn cue tips on cue sticks.
