my mom uses rubbing alcohol to stretch out/break in shoes--i dont know if it would work to soften the brogues. I know it works on regular leather. love seeing how your essentials have evolved Lizzy!

Great video for styling ideas, sadly as I live in the sticks and am on a budget I can’t afford the higher end actual things you have , and haven’t been able to try any things like uniqlo, weekday or Arlet as have none anywhere near so will use this as styling tips!

Great ideas for styling Lizzy! Re trousers - maybe get some made? I'm thinking of doing that, as I am a tad under 6ft and find it impossible to find tailored pieces that fit me well. I often buy men's but tailoring is trickier to find.

Hi Lizzy, I love the larger blazer look but I struggle so much in winter when it's too cold to sport that on its own and have to wear a coat. Most of my coats don't fit me with such a large shoulder underneath. How do you deal with this? Thanks x
my mom recommended me to hammer my brogues on the back bc they were really hurting my feet, it softens them a little bit, give it a try

The older Levi's are much better quality than the recently produced ones. We were in Helsinki last Christmas for a few days (minus 13 degrees Celsius)......my husband bent down to tie his boot laces and the Levi's split......right on the crotch and down the leg. I laughed so hard he didn't speak to me for a whole day. However, I digress: Helsinki prices for Levi's are not the best...plus, venturing out in that temperature, (splits and all) to search for a new pair didn't enhance his mood. He is stubborn and would not consider buying just anything else to tide him over for the rest of the short trip. Well, it is what it is!

Not true. I wear Doc Martens a lot and had to break some pairs in. After a few painful days (non consecutive) I succeded and can wear them even without any socks.
