I always loved how many multimillion dollar properties ive seen on the river bank and boats decked, 4wheelers and trucks parked, etc, and no one is outside those houses or on the water enjoying it.
In 2018 or so I did work for a family that had a cottage like that. Multi million dollar log home right on the water and had an entire bay to themselves, only went 2/3 times a year because there was no internet at the time 🤦♂️😂
Matt, I took your advice on downsizing my bait and threw a white Mini Max chatterbait with a white kamikaze trailer last weekend on the Susquehanna and had one of my best days this year! Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Frogs are the way, totally can relate to feeling that a frog fish is untouchable... and shit i still have buddies who cant catch a fish on a frog for the life of them, they get the queues its just all about getting the fish in, patience can be your bestfriend when frog fishing
I started fishing a frog when I was a young teenager after my uncle told me he was using them on the California Delta catching giants. Initially when I had no confidence in what I was doing I thought I was wasting my time. Now I’m 39 and I love throwing a frog. All about experience with time on the water. Great video.
Glorious! Power fishing! It seems like forever since we have seen you true power fishing. Loved this need more of it. Heck I need some of it for myself.
Matt you stop amazing me ! I have heard those noises 🤯 that you were speaking about. Wow! I never thought 💭🤔 about how the food chain is working and how the bass fit into the system. Everytime I apply your theories to my fishing 🎣 I see progress. 🎉😊. If I only had a boat ⛵ I would crush it 🚤 . Don't get me wrong I still have fun beating the bank. But it would be better to be able to chase those bass down.😢 I'm working on it so in time I will be chasing fish from my new bass boat... Hey Matt thank you for teaching us much needed information. You and Tim are really great guys. Keep on fishing 🎣🎣. Peace 🕊️🙏 ✌️..
Awesome content Matt! Can you do something about lake turnovers? It gets a little harder to fish when the turnover happens. Thanks and keep up the awesome content
I was literally just about to ask about frogging! I just bought the JDM expride and I can see why you like those rods so much. Feather light and crisp.
Thanks Chad! We don't fish them at all anymore. We came to the realization that to be the best teacher, we would have to give up all the secrets. To be the best tournament angler, you would have to hold the important things back. You literally can't be the best at both, they're at odds with one another. If you try both, one of them will be short changed. I know some anglers try, and we wish them well on that journey, but we committed ourselves to teaching and helping others a long time ago.
On Table Rock Lake if we have a cloudy day and rain even helps the only thing I need is an old school storm wiggle wart in watermelon or green Black and chartreuse!
Matt, I do like your videos and have used some of your tips to catch fish. Maybe you and Tim could come down here to the Dallas area and do a shoot about lakes that have very little grass.
Hey Tim. Have you ever explain how and why you shift your rod back and forth when you get a fish up to the boat. I’m assuming it’s to reduce the chance of the fish through thing the hook before boating it. Can you make a quick video on what you look for and what causes you to change you rod position back and forth. Thanks.
I find my favorite way to walk any bait, even twitching a jerkbait, is with an 8 to 1 gear ratio reel giving quater to half turns on semi slack line. Eliminates a lot of error
U probably aren't leaving enough slack when u try walking the dog...or, the rod needs more tip...too stiff of a tip pulls the frog nit allowing the slack to "walk"
I live in central Ky. Today was a tough day on the water. The conditions were right but couldn't find them. I don't have electronics... yet, so I do alot of shallow fishing. Tried it all from square bills, deep, spinnerbait, jerkbait, ned, poppers and got 1 tiny bass. There is definitely worse ways to spend an evening but still frustrating
I fish a lake that is considerably smaller but has a spot just like this. Creek comes in, little bridge, grass flat just outside. The most consistent spot on the lake, and all I ever see is guys catfishing from shore 🤣
I need a dang boat😢. I fish from the riverbank mostly. The local lake is over fished from the shore. So, I only go there for bait fish (bluegill). However, I catch shinner bait fish in the river that work better. They bass & pike will eat both but seem to prefer the shinners. Which are juvenile quillback carpsuckers. I only use live bait when lures aren't working, though. Using live fish to catch and release larger fish seems almost hypocritical to me.😂 At least the bigger fish gets fed that way.😉
What rod are you fishing that jackal Kierra? I’ve just started throwing that frog and I love it, but I cannot seem to find a powerful enough rod that will load up with that small frog in the grass.
I know that she mentioned mentioned owner hooks in this video tell me why you don't prefer gamakatsu? I think gamertag you is stronger and lighter that's just my opinion though everybody has their own preferences.
@Steve-d8s we use a ton of both. It comes down to specific hooks for specific jobs. We don't get caught up by brand name at all, we're 100% performance driven.
Are you using Daiwa j braid for the frog? The silentness of the cast sounds (or lack of sound) just like the J braid. I’m not a fan of the lighter pound test, it casts a mile but it snaps rather easily
This was power pro maxcuatro. It's 65 lb but has the diameter of 50 lb. Remember, you can open the description of any video we make and you'll find all the information on baits, rods, etc.
I have a question, are leader knots bad for your top rod guide when you cast? I have a rod that’s missing the insert likely due to the knot whipping through it so many times. I’m noticing you are using a long leader like I am.
I would consider myself somewhat of a beginner, and it's because every time I see you pop hooks so easily, I get humbled. For some reason, I would like a good 'hook out the mouth' video
How often to you guys run into any of those "Fishing-Karens" that try to run you off or sabotage your fishing? Just wondering because I noticed you were fishing along the shoreline of a nice neighborhood.
Not kidding, that's the difference between mid priced reels and high end reels. The Metanium in particular, I can casually dump every inch of line off that spool with a frog. It's such a difference maker across a whole day, week, season, etc.
I always loved how many multimillion dollar properties ive seen on the river bank and boats decked, 4wheelers and trucks parked, etc, and no one is outside those houses or on the water enjoying it.
Cuz they’re too busy in the office paying for it. I’d rather have a jon boat than live that life.
Absolutely correct....

It’s because they can afford to fish on weekdays and prefer that to the high traffic weekends 😂

@ricker76er nah, we are on vacations. Why stay at home when I can go do those same activities anywhere in the country whenever I want?
Up at 3am getting ready to fish this wonderful fall 🙌🏽

That is a gorgeous lake for sure, best channel on UA-cam
For me it's a popping frog. I can catch fish on a frog. I can catch great fish on a popper. Put the 2 together and I can't catch shit lol.
Great catches Matt those are sweet looking Bass. Thanks for the video and tips bud 👍🏻🎣

They make straight retrieve frogs like Stanley ribbets you can use that are killer.

Nothing beats a whopper plopper, absolutely any time of the year. Or anything topwater for that matter, can’t catch shi when it’s not.
Can we get a video on baits that work year round

Leaders will have zero impact on quality guides. It's far more likely it sustained damage some other way.

do you fish the chatter bait on top water?
That wasn't a chatterbait. Similar concept, totally different function. Check the video description for a link to the bait 👍🏼
Hey, FYI the video isn't working on your website for this one.

Honestly, it's pretty rare. Most homeowners are incredibly respectful when we're respectful to them.
Well I’m screwed. I wear hearing aids and take them out when fishing. And so it goes.
