Monali Thakur is very talented, but quite an underrated singer, a legend, began singing in Bengali language in 2000s. She has very lovely unique melodic voice. She is an actress too, was raised in a musical, film family, she has also trained in Indian classical dance, Hip-hop, Salsa. She has sung in several languages, performed in shows, on TV among others. Monali reached the top 10 during the Indian Idol Season 2 but was eliminated. She is married to a Swiss native, settled in Switzerland.
India is a diverse country and has many languages. Papon comes from the Northeast Region of India, the state of Assam. If you can then please do react to his Assamese songs as well. Assamese and Northeast Indians as a whole and our music is very underrated even among other Indians. So Papon is like a flag bearer of Assamese music industry, he is not just a bollywood playback singer but he also sings Assamese indigenous folk music and Bihu(Assamese Festival) songs which are very famous in this part/region of India. Really love your reactions, thank you, sending love all the way from Assam, India🇮🇳
I am not an assamese tho.. but I have spent my entire childhood in northeastern part of India.. and no developed city like delhi, bombay or banglore can ever stand the beauty of northeast. I just love love love love Northeast and would definitely love to visit once again.
The thing is development is taking place any every indian loves u and respects u and your culture ...the natural beauty of the northeastern states is the greatest asset for the country and we do not want to destroy that
Guys, this girl "Monali Thakur", won "National Award" for best female singer of that year for this song, which is the highest award given to the entertainment industry from all over India, by the government of India, This Prestigious Award is given by the "President of India" himself 🙌🏻, this makes remarkable image in any artist's career.
So happy to see you react to this one.... Moh Moh Ke Dhaage is one of my all-time fave Bollywood track ever. It's so beautiful and the lyrics are so profound and amazing. While I get reacting to a Live performance has it's own charm and understanding that you get of vocal range of the performers... but I wish you had heard it from the Movie Version first or the MTV version.

You should check out Papon’s own composition called “khumaar” in Coke Studio. He has blended Indian classical with alternative so brilliantly! There’s a behind the scenes video also. Those who know this song please hit like on this comment. Thank you.
flamenco was created by gypsy (Romani) people who migrated from South Asia (India) region toward Europe with Indian dance Kathak and they developed into their flamenco dance. you will see so much similarity between both dance.
So the original song "Moh moh ke dhaage" was produced by Anu Mallik (Uncle of Armaan mallik)... While Monali is also a playback singer as well as an actress.. You guys should totally check out "jiyen kyun" one of the best performance of Papon....
Being an Assamese, very proud of Papon to have made a place for himself in the mainstream Indian music industry while also being a very well-known face in the regional, folk and indie scenario. His parents are legendary musicians themselves in Assam and it would be lovely if you guys could explore Assamese music in your future videos. Works of Late Dr Bhupen Hazarika, Jayanta Hazarika, Zubeen Garg, Papon and a few other young talented musicians like Sannidhya Bhuyan,Tonmoy Krypton are the ones I would recommend for you to check out.
You should check this song from the film. And also very interesting video about the scene behind the recording the original. I am sure you will love it...
I agree the flamingoishness, but the orginal(film version) is very much based on indian Instruments! Do check it out(PAPON'S VERSION IF POSSIBLE) AND THE LYRICS TOO!❤️👑
So happy see you guys enjoy the music… and you guys can hear a similarity between our northern Indian music and flamenco cause there is a connection between this two a very long one I’m quoting here “Flamenco is closely associated to the gitanos of the Romani ethnicity who have contributed significantly to its origination and professionalization.” And “Linguistic and genetic evidence suggest that the Roma as a people originated from the northern Indian subcontinent, in particular the Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab regions of modern-day India.” So it’s not so strange that Indian music and flamenco has such similarities
I'd like you to checkout Papon's Coke Studio composition called "Khumaar," it is an amazing composition and Popon sang amazingly. And, check out the studio composition of Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, it is very different than this live on, I personally prefer Papon's version over Monali's.

The studio version is much more classical inclined. You would like it, considering your affinity towards classically influenced songs. Give it a try
Original song from movie is better version I would say. There is subtle and strong feeling of longing and with minimum or choice of instruments they had used in original version is obviously powerful to trigger those emotions!!

The first guy you saw sitting in the audience was the guy who played the virus (director) in the movie “3 idiots”. The good looking guy is Ranbir Singh the guy who was playing villain in movie Padmawat. He was in the video “Binte Dil and also in Deewani Mastani.
Hey! I love Papon's voice (the male singer). You should watch "Khumaar" by Papon from MTV Coke Studio. You will surely love the musicality, the alternate rock fusion with Indian semi-classical singing style that he used in that song. There is a particular instrument called the shehnai which is introduced in the middle of the song and it is truly mesmerising. I hope you can check that out.
Fun fact : the man cheering at 1:36 is the actor who played the role of Virus in the movie 3 Idiots, which you watched not very long ago. 5:16 that's Ranveer Singh from all those songs you have already reacted to. (Yes Deepika Padukone's husband)
It sounds Flamingoish because the 'Gitanose Gypsies' of Spain who discovered Flamingo in the 15th century CE are the Descends of India. Even their are similarities between Flamingo dance and the Banjara dance of India. Banjara is the ancient name of Roma People.

Please react to Pranavalaya and sirivennela songs from movie Shyam Singha Roy , which are highly melodic and written by great Sirivennela Sitaramasastri . You will definitely love them . And you can also see the live version of Pranavalaya along with Studio version.
The Flemenco influence that you mention was created by the Romani diaspora of Andalusia, Spain, and the native Andalusians. The Romani were originally from the Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat regions of India. They migrated to Europe some 1200 years ago.
Today we lost Bappi Lahiri, he was an Indian singer, composer, and record producer. He popularised the use of synthesised disco music in Indian cinema and sang some of his own compositions. React his song "Yaar Bina chain kaha re" composed and sung by him and "Inteha ho gayi intezaar ki" composed by him for film Sharabi.
I love Monali Thakur. She has a very sweet voice and often compared to Shreya Ghoshal. I don't like this horrible urge to compare and contrast and pit women against each other. Both are amazing singers and having a sweet voice doesn't only belong to one particular singer. Both Monali and Shreya are Bengalis and I guess coming from an Indian state that is so famous for sweets, they're bound to have sweet voices.

The Flemenco influence that you mention was created by the Romani diaspora of Andalusia, Spain, and the native Andalusians. The Romani were originally from the Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat regions of India. They migrated to Europe some 1200 years ago.
Monali and Papon both sang amazingly
Today we lost Bappi Lahiri, he was an Indian singer, composer, and record producer. He popularised the use of synthesised disco music in Indian cinema and sang some of his own compositions. React his song "Yaar Bina chain kaha re" composed and sung by him and "Inteha ho gayi intezaar ki" composed by him for film Sharabi.
Waleska recognizing Pritam...wow
I love Monali Thakur. She has a very sweet voice and often compared to Shreya Ghoshal. I don't like this horrible urge to compare and contrast and pit women against each other. Both are amazing singers and having a sweet voice doesn't only belong to one particular singer. Both Monali and Shreya are Bengalis and I guess coming from an Indian state that is so famous for sweets, they're bound to have sweet voices.
