Fun little rules quirk with Gamble: If you have a Library of Leng in play it'll let you discard to the top of your library, but it's a replacement effect. Since the discard from Gamble is before the shuffle, you would put the discarded card on top your library THEN shuffle. This means, if your discarded card is the card you searched for, you may have cast Gamble only to have it shuffle your library.
You probably should have mentioned that with Abundance, if you have a Sylvan library, each of Sylvan Library's draws are replacement effects from Abundance that just puts the cards into your hand without paying the life from the library.
I first played standard around Invasion Mercadian Masques year so the impact this block had was still felt with how powerful it was. I mean if we didn't restrict it to 10 cards this could probably an hour long video.
Love this series!! Mercadian masques gets talked about for being underpowered in general. I would argue top 5 sets for EDH ever created. The best part is that none of the cards were created for EDH specifically. Spellshaper are the most usefule creature type in EDH,CHANGE MY MIND!!
@@dariocampanella7992 it's an awesome feeling. I love using it in my Mazzy deck where I can repeatedly get it back if the creature dies. Gets gross with Sigarda's Aid on the board
I cannot even imagine playing standard during Urza's Saga, I bet it was insane! I use Pariah in a deck that puts Lure effects on Stuffy Dolls and its so good! Since I have to attack with the Stuffy Doll I don't always have a bunch of blockers to leave up, but nobody ever wants to attack into it or spend a card to deal with it.
Pariah with Shield of the Oversoul or Indestructibility is my favourite combo in my Sigarda Host of Herons voltron deck. I use half of the cards in the list in my decks and I never realized they were all from Urza's Saga. It must have been an awesome set to play with.
Urzas Saga 1000% Nostalgia. I bought most of the precons, my favorite was Special Delivery but Plague was downright silly with 4 Pestilences in the deck :P
So the important thing about Priest of Titania is that it counts your opponents' creatures. I put it into green decks even if they don't have many elves because chances are high that SOMEONE has an elf Also Library of Leng turns Gamble into a sorcery Vampiric Tutor at worst
could you please update the decklists on your video about your personal decks? I would really like to know exactly what you changed. Especially the cards you took out of the decks. Thanks!
Greater good might be the best sac outlet that isn't black or an artifact so it definitely would have made my top ten (but the amount of work I've seen it do in my Meren deck definitely makes me biased!).
Time spiral is definitely very powerful. It's just underused in EDH, I think. People fail to understand how to refill your hand for free. But yeah, this set is so crazy good that's it's impossible to really make a top list, imo.
I'd argue that Voltaic Key is the best card for Urza's Saga. Slots in any deck and does work. It has been replaced (or overshadowed) but it still does plenty.
@@tylerb2523 there are only 3 enchantment permanent repeatable activated ability counterspells for colored spells in all of magic. The condition doesn’t care about card type either. It only cares about color. And you can use the ability under a silence like effect. 🤡 ⚖️

Back in the day wizzard didnt banned that much. There werent social media so we cant see people cryin about okko or questing beast.
yeah banning didn't happen much back then, urza's saga was really the first time they ever banned numerous cards all at once.

Urzas Saga is my favorite set of all time. Favorite Card is Serra's Sanctum I just love the artwork and it's also extremely powerful

Fervent mastery is a great budget option for gamble. You can also pay it 4mana and politics.
