    Thank you so much for this excellent clear video. I bought this coverstich machine in October 2020 and I love it so much, you have confirmed I made the best choice and the engineering behind it. I don't know if it is my imagination and that a machine can really be so sensitive but the looper seems to go really tight on the tension and really hard to pull through and out at the end on some reels of thread though they look the same as my others to me. But as I havent changed the looper tension dial and I check the threading is correct several times, I can only think it doesnt like the thread. Have you come across this? Thank you

    • @EchidnaClub
      @EchidnaClub  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Lid - if all of a sudden and the thread is pulling tight it can be the way the thread is coming off the reel, it is not uncommon for the thread to be wound tighter towards the end of the cone. You could lighten the tension off towards the end of the reel will alleviate this!

    I am confused! I am looking for a machine to sew a few different things but it seems I would have to buy many machines. I already have a Singer 4452 and then found out it is not what I want so maybe I can just get one additional machine. I think what I want is a machine that does flat stitch to sew the front and back of a stretch t-shirt. I would also want to eventually make a heavy fabric backpack with double stitch and padded shoulder straps. can any reasonably-priced machine do that and sew the edge of the fabric to prevent fraying?

    Hello! I am having trouble with my left most needle (yellow). It skips many stitches and it almost seems like the looper just won't grab the needle thread. I've double checked the threading, put in fresh needles, and it still struggles, particularly when it goes over thicker parts (such as side seams when sewing a hem) and it just skips many (4+ ) stitches. Do you have an idea what could be the issue? Thank you!

    Why don't domestic coverstitch machines seem to have much room on the right of needles? The seem great for hemming but to coverstitch a whole side seam on a t shirt looks to be either difficult or not possible? Many also don't have the ability to put a sleeve hole over the bottom like on a sewing machine. Doesn't this make it difficult to do sleeve hems?

      @benandmichelledotnet Yes it doesn seem to be a design feature they could improve on but it would have to do with the size and features of the machine as well as costing. It wil be a matter of maneouvring the fabric to stitch where you need it to. It would be an adjustment as you are feeding the garment being sewn through the machine.

    I have a Juki MCS, no matter what I do I cannot get the left needle to be reliable on 3 thread stitching with lighter weight fabrics. It works absolutely fine on jersey knit or heavier fabrics. It has never been consistent out of the box. I regret not buying a cheap brother machine. I literally spend more time trying to get this machine to work properly than I do on my projects. I have tried all of the obvious “fixes” new thread/new needles/endless combinations of presser foot pressures/diff feeds/stitch length/tension settings. EVERYTHING. THIS MACHINE JUST doesn’t perform correctly with lightweight fabrics. I am not a sewing novice and I would never buy a Juki ever again

      Hi @thehappycalsteward2780 - we are sorry you are having a bad experience with your machine, were you able to take the machine back to your supplier to check out the machine for you?
