I do love the idea of a simple to play 2 player game that still gives you a lot to think about in terms of strategies for point scoring. As always great work on the video.
I'm not quite done yet, about to set up Marco Polo 2 and am trying to get that out early next week. It'll be my 4th heavy euro this month, it's been a burny few weeks for sure :)
You do a really nice job of vlearly walking through set up & turn play with a logical & well planned approach. I also like how you share the player's thinking as you go (similar to Rahdo). Keep up the great work!
One note since I watched the tribe card action segment and didn’t see it there: In addition to taking a card into your hand or building it to your tableau immediately, you may discard the card (denying it to your opponent on a later turn) or pass and leave it where it is. The rules are less than clear about this but it has been confirmed by the designer on BGG and is in the FAQ. Apologies if you covered it already: since I am already a fan of the game, I’m not watching the whole play through this time. Looking forward to the expansion finally being available in english this year!
Interesting, I did miss that you could optionally discard it for the main Tribe card action. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll add a note to the Klingon subtitles.
@ 7:38 I don't think this is quite correct. You actually have 3 options (4 if you count not activating it and leaving the card on the board). According to the designer on BGG (and the FAQ) you can also choose to just discard the card, even if you don't have a tribe card in hand.
I’m a big fan of your work, Jon - honestly some of the best playthroughs around - but it’s really bugging me how you keep pronouncing the name of the game with a soft G instead of a hard one.
This helped my decision to buy the game. Thanks! One piece of feedback--you frequently use the word "obviously" when you could omit it. Not only are some of the steps you describe NOT obvious--viewers are watching your video to learn how to play an unfamiliar game--but the idea that any step is "obvious" tends to turn off newcomers, perhaps making them feel stupid for not anticipating or understanding something that you say is "obvious." I'm sure you don't mean to use this filler word so often; your video would be great without it.
It appears I use "filler" words quite often in my regular speech. Sorry if these bug you, but I'm not sure I have the ability to tone them down while also thinking through everything else going on in the video filming process.
That is an awesome rules explanation. A big thank you from me personally for this great video (I am the designer). Very well done!
Thanks for making a great game :)

Hit your schedule on all games this month! Honestly I'm glad for anything you put out, just wanted to highlight your success there.

I’m sure if they got the confidence, they could get more dates!
Awesome game, one of my Top 5 all time favorites. Thanks for the excellent playthrough!

As always great content. My daughter and I had a great first game tonight. Thank you!
Really enjoy these :) You are very thorough. I heard a lot about this game and you made it look great :)
Very informative video with a lot of references to end of explanations. Well done :)
Always an excellent explanation, thanks
Great breakdown, thanks a lot!

That's good to know, thanks!
Thanks for another helpful video. 🙂
I know this game has been out for a while, but I’ve never played and it looks really good. Guess I’m tardy on Targi.
Fantastic game!
Thanks.
cool and do you have any war boardgames?
Not really, that's a part of board gaming I've never really explored.
@@JonGetsGames Ok cheers
Thank you.
Do you know the maximum amount of gold coins that each player can hold on Targi, is it 2 or 3? 12:28 ok three is the limit? Why
I believe it's 3 gold.
Set the playback speed to 0.9x if you want to watch and listen at normal speed.
Hello! Subtitle in romanian is posibile? Thanks you!
Unfortunately, I don't have the bandwidth to take on a project like that. Sorry :-\

Huh, I've only ever heard it pronounced the way I said it but I suppose that's likely groupthink.

How dare you. This game has been out for five years. It’s old news. You need to be doing kick starters that are not out for another 2 years.
