This is actually the reprise of Wait For Me, but to be honest I think the reprise is a lot better than the normal Wait For Me which is the one you reacted to before, mainly because the reprise has Reeve Carney AND Eva Noblezada. Also, SPOILER ALERT, if you want to know what is happening in this song, basically Eurydice (Eva) is stuck in Hadestown, and Hades agrees that Orpheus (Reeve) can take her back on the condition that Orpheus leads them out and if he looks back to see if Eurydice is there she will return to Hadestown and stay there forever. Meanwhile, Hades and Persephone decide to try to fix their relationship.
I was surprised when I first saw the performance of this song and was so surprised . I thought Wait."Hades hopes that Orpheus leads Eurydice all the way out and they and other gods & people live happily ever after??"😲😀😀😞🙂Sweet.Wow.
I’m going to cry. Oh my god the ending is beautiful. And the song itself is just incredibly meaningful and symbolizes some important values for Christmas and the holidays and in general. But oh my god, I can’t get over the ending, um. I don’t have a good relationship with my dad, and with it being my last Christmas before I go off to college. I wanted to make sure I did something special for him, and this video is all the inspiration I needed.
Oh my God your comment is just beautiful! Family is so important! You sound like you’re still young, and perhaps in time things will get better. I know that I didn’t have the best relationship with my father when I was younger but when I got older a lot of things changed and we both matured. Now I have a wonderful relationship with him. I wish you the best holidays and send you much love! PS i’m currently waiting in line to board the plane that will take me to Los Angeles to see my mom for the first time in three years! I made sure to wear waterproof mascara!
I adore Hadestown and it's showing of the Tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice. It's so different, but still holding true to the ancient story of love and heartbreak. The pain, and highs, the love and fear. The gain and loss. I absolutely love it!
Thank you so much for sharing this emotional moment between you and your mom. Covid has taken so much away from us, so getting to finally see her after so long must make you feel so many things. I was not ready so cry so much during this video! Thank you for allowing us to share in your story ❤️
Yea it’s been forever so finally coming to see her was extremely emotional. I didn’t plan on crying haha! I’m actually staying at her house right now celebrating Christmas 🎄
I just saw this on broadway and you NEED to have your eyes open for it. It has the most beautiful staging, lighting, and general ambiance that I've even seen in a production.
legit my fave musical. I've been lucky enough to see the cast several times over. Worth it Edit cause now i'm tearing up at the end of this video. how sweet
This reaction was so much more than I hoped when I saw that you would be doing it! I love your breakdown of the vocals, and I love the recognition of the thematic elements of the song, it was so nice to see you use it to let your mom know you were going to visit. I hope you have an amazing visit, a great Christmas and Happy New Year! (And I can't wait for you to react to more Hadestown too!)
This reaction is incredible. This musical really allows you to feel the music and I’m glad you can feel that. You should listen to the whole thing. Unfortunately, there aren’t many performances of it, but there’s an npr tiny desk concert for hadestown you can react to. They performed a few of the songs from the musical that you haven’t reacted to yet. And taht part at the end with your mom was so sweet. I hope you both enjoy your visit
I am late to this party. I saw Hadestown on Broadway in early April of this year. When I say I am obsessing over this show, I really am. I cried so much at the end and the music is amazing.
This is literally one of the best musicals, if not THE best musical I have ever seen in my life, saw it on Broadway last month, and loved it so much I got another ticket for the next day, and absolutely would have been happy to see it another 10 times!
The ending has me absolutely bawling! I don't live with my parents I love with my grandparents and both my parents love away, one lives about an hour away and the other lives about an hour and a half away and unfortunately because of covid they couldn't come home to see me so seeing that hit home a bit....I hope you had a fabulous Christmas with your family❤
The end made me cryyyyy. So perfect and sweet. I wish you would react to something from Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. I feel like every winter I end up listening to The Great Comet non-stop.
I was obsessed back in 2019 seeing this show. I’m lucky to have seen in multiple times on Broadway. This cast was really fantastic. Eva had a really tired voice here. They had been doing lots of extra promotion to help push for the Tonys. After the Tony’s she was in vocal rest.
i was lucky enough to have won the broadway lottery to see hadestown a few weeks ago and I thought I had already felt all the feels listening to the soundtrack but watching them perform it live with all the lights and smoke and everything...jesus. i had goosebumps the entire night. it was also super special for me as i have never seen a show with the main original broadway cast, so hearing their familiar voices but in person was an awesome experience!!!!
I saw the Tour cast in Seattle a few weeks ago. It was phenomenal. Patrick can't be topped but the Hades was Amazing, Same with Andre, but the Hermes was amazing. And the Fates..lord almighty.
I know these are old reactions but I’d absolutely LOVEEEEE if you could react to other songs from hadestown!! their audio tracks hold so much emotion and it’s truly a story with just hearing them!!
I’ve been living in Korea for nearly 3 years without seeing my family because of COVID and I’m planning to visit home this summer so that last part had me choked up haha
You gotta do a react to We Raise Our Cups, which is the epilogue to the show. (In this video you can see the emotion coming through the actors and I love it for that ua-cam.com/video/cClzxLU0ncQ/v-deo.html) Now it is the very very VERY last song to the tale, so I'd suggest maybe doing a few others if you haven't already played out the whole tracklist. Even then, there is a studio album of Hadestown and an orginal cast live album both coming before the original broadway cast, which is where this cast comes from (and the obc have done a studio recording, so if you want a clear audio version of the tracklist, go check that out). Each version of the musical gives a bit of a different perspective on the story either by changing the lyrics, the music, the ensemble, or the way the characters are performed. You should also see these newer cast members playing the show right now on Broadway. Believe it or not, Hades' voice gets deeper than Patrick's here when he is played by Jamari, and much higher when played by Tom (sorry I forgot their last names lol). They all have their own way of presenting the character as it pertains to their vocal range, and because of that the character himself changes with them. I could give you a whole essay about the things I love about Hadestown but I will jump to my most favorite thing, and that is the way the show is so versatile. The way that these characters can be performed in many different ranges in many different styles and still come through so coherently, still landing that impression that needs to hit the audience. Ever since the start some 15 or 20 years ago Hadestown has been ever changing, evolving, with every rendition and it is still changing to this day. _As if it might turn out this time..._
I saw it at Segerstrom a couple weeks ago and my god was it amazing, it was my first ever Musical, and I wish there were clips of it online cause I absolutely loved its Orpheus and Hades (personally think they were better than the broadway ones, esp Hades).
I was lucky enough to see this show in Seoul and oh my gosh, it was amazing! While I do like the Off-Broadway version better than the Broadway version (though the Korean cast was just cast...perfectly omg), the Broadway version is still phenomenal in its own right
Just saw it last night on Broadway because I have a friend in the cast. Blown away. This drama teacher was sleeping on this musical. Thanks for your analysis. I'm definitely going to plan a unit for my students now that I have a good show connection! If you haven't seen it, go! In addition to the music, the choreography and lighting design is some of the best I've seen in years!
You started out vacationing in Thailand, right? And then covid stuck you there and you decided to just stay? That's making the most of an inconvenience.
react to "Diva" from glee please, the video is awesome, could you convert your video subtitles to brazilian portuguese? I'm Brazilian and I love your videos, I would like to understand what you say ♥️

She truly is a Diamond 💎 ❤️❤️
Each song has the universe in it. Joy, hope, love, loss, hopelessness... everything
My favorite song from the show usually. That ending was so wholesome aww enjoy your family ❤
Much love your way to you and your family ❤️
Everytime I get obsessed with a musical you always react to it.
Honestly watching someone’s mom be excited and happy about receiving flowers from her kid is so wholesome
That was the perfect gift to give your mom. Now I’m here crying because my son came home for Christmas this year too.
This is probably my FAVORITE show!!! This song is incredible!... i saw the show in April 2022 and it was OUTSTANDING!!!!

oh please check out the hadestown tiny desk concert or the company one! They are good ones to listen for live musicality
I just saw the show this weekend--and knowing how it ends (I mean, it's a 2500-year-old story!) makes watching that song/scene EXCRUTIATING.
Ohhhhh my gosh, I cried with you guys. ♥️
We laughed about it later cause we totally didn’t mean to cry on camera!

Ummm, this is actually the REPRISE of this song from late in Act II. Just FYI.
I NEED to go see this again

Yup, it’s the reprise of Wait for Me
