@@dominiquepocopio777 yeah, 2 years ago Eva said they were just besties and that stuff, im glad they realized it was more than that, they now have a dog and live together 😭

And now she's tossing off descriptions of "inexplicable rightness of love from cosmic forces"? Folks, she does this without even trying!
Eva is wonderful. She took the West End by storm playing Kim in Miss Saigon, took Broadway by storm when the show moved to New York and look at her now in Hadestown. She was nominated for Tony Awards for both of the Broadway shows. She is an incredible talent.
She is genuinely unreal. Her career is going to be something to follow for sure. That voice is a gift to anyone lucky enough to hear it and smart enough to listen.
“I knew you before we met, and I don’t even know you yet” paired with Road to Hell (Reprise) shows that at the end of the musical Hermes keeps retelling the story hoping maybe this time it’ll be different. Maybe this time Eurydice won’t go down below. Maybe Orpheus won’t back. Maybe this time they get to go home. It’s a sad song, it’s a sad tale. It’s a tragedy but we’re gonna sing it again
Born and raised in NYC, I LOVE Broadway. I didn’t know how much until I was old enough to buy my own ticket. Now I try and see a show at least once a year. My children don’t even ask me anymore what I want for my birthday, Christmas, Mother’s Day etc. Hadestown is at the top of my list right now. Shamefully I would watch any show, they are all great I’m sure. So Happy it’s back, we missed you!

There are foot switches available for that, but the pianist was on it. Musicans had to turn physical pages for hundreds of years before tablets came along, and they managed.
Just saw this at the Kennedy Center. The woman playing Eurydice is awful.. Mumbled voice....Could not hear any of her words.... The musical is amazing.... but, damn, so sad Eurydice was so terrible. (Orpheus was awesome...and Hades and Persephone)
I mean... It is about a greek myth, so hold you forever sounds like a real posibility, but even if it wasn't, they are not being literal, they are describing feelings, and specially when it is young love, it can feel like you wanna be with this person forever, and that nothing matters outside of them, and there are a million different ways to sing about it. The world will never have enough silly love songs
@@trinifernandez8870 Okay ...there's fantasy and then there's reality .It also becomes so redundant and most of the time it doesn't last so don't get your hopes up, Trini
In addition to the fact that it is poetry, in the context of the actual musical, it kinda alludes to these two character’s “naive” nature in the beginning. This is early in their relationship and specifically with Orpheus (Reeve Carney’s character), he is very idealistic and believes he can change the world with his songs. On the other hand, Eurydice (Eva Noblezada’s character) is more of a realist, however in this song she is looking for reassurance from Orpheus that things (a.k.a. the love and safety she feels with him) won’t change. Later on in the musical this little motif comes back in “Promises” and it shows how their experiences have matured them in a way in which Orpheus has become a little more grounded and honest with what he has and Eurydice no longer needs the same reassurance as before. She became content. So in summary, the unrealistic aspect is kinda the point of the song since it shows their initial nativité and highlights their growth (when compared to promises).
