With every reveal and interview, the more excited I get about this movie. Was VERY apprehensive at first that Illumination was chosen but I also knew that Nintendo wouldn't allow their most valuable IP to be tarnished with a below-average movie. Not to mention, going with a smaller newer studio (and not Disney, Dreamworks or Pixar) avoids the issue of Nintendo having to put with extensive executive meddling - the bigger the studio, the more heads you answer to. Looking forward to this adventure!

The secret to the success of this movie is simple:
    1) entertainment is its focus
    2) little to no political messages that are designed to guilt trip you into changing who you are to fit another person’s view of what is good or bad
    3) faithful visual representation to the source material and good choices for voice acting (some debatable elements in the voice department but I personally loved it)

The amount of Mario stuffs that the Illumination team had gave us in the Mario movie is really great. The human characters were stylized just as it should : Mario-esque artstyle, no off-putting/clashing artstyle like the random Odyssey human NPCs. The world-building was also great since a lot of Mario IPs were culminated into one world, and they also included Brooklyn for Mario's homeworld. I think this easily belongs to Top 10 animated movies of 2023.

Miyamoto is the main reason that i am studying to be a designer. He created this mario franchise, which opened up so many people's hearts, including myself and yes, i am mario obsessed. Been playing it since i was a kid, grew up with it. I remember when nintendo came up with the ds xD. I would be obsessed with that just bc of the mario games lol. But mario doesn't lessen our minds, mario opens our eyes to a whole new world, filled with creativity and puzzle solving skills. Its not like your typical minecraft or roblox(those are great games), but mario, well, its fun for literally everyone. Everyone and anyone can play it. Its a universal game that deserves all the love(i'll forever give it my love).
