- Christ commissioned His church to preach the gospel to all nations and to teach His people everything that He has commanded them (Matt. 28:18-20). The church is called to preach Christ and to call people to trust in Him, but it is not to stop there. Instead, the church is to make disciples, teaching them what Christ has revealed so that they will persevere to the end and inherit eternal life. In this session, Dr. W. Robert Godfrey considers the importance of discipleship and how our making disciples now has an eternal impact.

This is the first sermon I have ever heard that preached the Great Commission as ordained by Jesus that we might all become disciples of a Church close enough to minister one another and others in the same community. I never thought I could be a disciple until now and go not alone but with others. “”Go make disciples”. What a Blessing you are to show me a surprise Chapter 16. Love you Grateful to hear you preach the Word of God. I was Baptized in a watering tub for cattle. AFTER HURRICANE CHARLIE WE HAD NO CHURCH PROVISIONS. IT WAS WARM THEN A BEAUTIFUL DAY OUTSIDE. WHEN ASKED IF I KNOW I AM A CHRISTIAN I DON’T SAY BECAUSE I WAS BAPTIZED. I SAY BECAUSE I love Jesus God The Holy Ghost - The Trinity and Born Again
Dr. Godfrey is truly a teacher/Professor.

If you're not a disciple, then you're not a Christian. A disciple is a follower. A disciple of Jesus is a follower of Jesus. So, you're not a follower of Jesus?

The terms you are using are not mutually exclusive but different ways of saying the same thing, and different aspects of being regenerate.

This was great. What a wonderful man!
I’m sure Dr. Godfrey had some profound points to make during his lecture. However, he seems to be enamored with using the oratory technique of modulating the volume of his voice for effectiveness quite often. Even with the volume turned up to the maximum on my end, I only heard about 40% of what he had to say when he chose to drop the volume of his voice for effect. I am not elderly or hard of hearing so I am assuming others may have had this challenge as well. I appreciate the portion of what I did hear, but please turn up the volume in the sound booth!
I think it’s an av problem for this one. He doesnt have that issue in other sermons on here.

Sometimes forced to become a "floater" when you can't find a solid Reformed church in your area!! Preaching can be quite bland and even false in many local Churches - so I am praying for God to raise up a trustworthy Preacher who is not afraid to preach and teach the full council of God - I do not want to be a "floater" - but had to leave the Baptist Church I was attending because of bad Doctrine and its ecumenical tendencies.

Our ministers can add leadership in political issues. Jesus talked politics in relationship to faith
Our failure to do so has been a tremendous loss for the church and a big reason why we are here. He doesnt leave anypoint to oppose tyranny by leaving political leadership out of a pastor's purview. Christ is king is a political statement and the more political persecution comes the more we need to hear from our pastor's about it. Christian's supporting those who persecute the church in office need to stop and even repent. You can sin politically and the scriptures speak to politics. We cannot abandon the christian mind in politics,nor the political to those opposed to the gospel.
I mean think about it imagine telling believers in China or in the fascist and communist dictatorships of the past hundred years to not have leadership from their pastors on such things. Or the eadly and biblical church. Paul sure seems to be answering their questions about politics.
Kinda reminds me of the apostles, when they were fighting with each other. Lolz
