Jesus had delegated the authority to Simon to continuing building the church, holding the keys, and looking after the sheep. Simon is the caretaker of the church, the Catholic Church!
What is the church? Is it the buildings filled with Christians? Or can it be just the Christians? I have had a very rough time finding an established church in my area that is teaching the full gospel or are promoting other false teachers. Perhaps these are the signs of the end times.
Too many prophesies have come to past for us to last 2,000 more years. The things that are happening in Israel gives us the temperature of how close we are to the end.
+Vernon Steinkamp The term end times in Jewish thinking, means the times after the Messiah comes the first time. So since Jesus is the Messiah and then went back into heaven, we are in the end times. If I remember correctly the former times was the time before the Messiah came. God bless.
