It's really amazing how Bradley is able to carry the bass line " Yuh Looking" for over three minutes in this arrangement. It's further interesting that he is also able to give that HORN sound by use of the midpans. It sounds like a brass instrument. Greatest of the greats. I remember speaking to him once many years ago (1970's) near a river in Maraval, when he indicated that he loved to be alone with the sound of nature.
@psychologistpannist ... the monotonous bass is a defining characteristic of the original tune. bradley gives you at least 4 variations of A monotonous bass line throughout, maintaining the theme of the song but still giving you sweet variations. the minor and the transition into it is untouchable. that's the master at work! but i agree it's no rebecca
Sammy, You have good ears. Desperadoes was beaten by 5 points, but I do not know if points were lost because of that tenor pannist blunder. He is still around (lol). For some trivia, 2001 was the only year that the panorama finals was not televised.
An artist goes to the beach and replicates what is already there... a genius goes to the beach and builds a castle of sand with an ocean as a moat... Bradley is clearly the latter...
what is wrong with you people????? the bassline is 3 notes taken straight from the cd with no variation whatsoever!!!! i lovr bradley too but come on...this is no rebecca....
The master arranger of Shadow's tune, the great Clive Bradley. Love you Despers.
