The most exciting thing about this is that you can use it outside of Unreal engine. No more need to export assets out of unreal after double checking that said asset doesn't have an unusual license. This will be great.
Only if the seller supplies it in those other formats. I migrated my projects over and they are still only in an unreal engine format so you would still have to open them in Unreal and export them.
the fact that you can preview files means in some image file cases that anybody can take a picture and not buy the asset, like image plane, foliage, fence, pelt et cetera
i think they are working on a AI based game creator, because with this new FAB store everything one place, (music, assets, blueprints, gameplay, etc..) the just need to add a AI that builds a world based on your input, than use the fab store to create that world. for example apocalyptic scify FPS with RPG elements and setting and then they just take everything from fab with that tag and put it in unreal, and you just tweak the output :P especially with that procedural approach that they showcased...
@Spooderderg it sounds like a terrible outcome for now and bad reputation comes from people who don't know how to use the engine properly.. and that just blueprints does not create a performant and optimized game. but i'm just guessing with all the hype about ai based stuff and if its get better it could be a possible outcome. and maybe planning. but will see :D lets hope not then i would be jobless soon.
Even if it is, I don't think it will be so dev will need just "tweak things" it's might be just a suggestions of assets by the FAB store for your game that you described to AI, nothing more.

In Fab you pay a much higher price for commercial licence or a lower price which is the equivalent to the basic price in Epic Marketplace but grants you only with the useless personal licence.
Yap it will be flooded with a bunch of AI assets. Now, the AI auto content and publishing automation tool is here. I can connect it with FAB and set the software to automate content creation. No human intervention is required because this software does everything automatically. This software can produce AI images, AI music, and more.

yeah, but for more novice like people out there that know a thing or two about 3d sculpting/ modelling, the ornatrix type plugins, marvellous designer and maya sub pricings are kinda way above our budget when you consider all the graphics services you need to be subbed to just to assemble one character. @@edenassos The purpose of businesses is to generate profit. That doesn’t necessarily make generating profit a net positive for the world, or justify things done in the name of increasing profit. There’s a difference between an individual or small group trying to make a decent living from their skills, and a vast corporation controlling mind-boggling amounts of resources in order to generate as much money as possible for their majority shareholders. Majority shareholders here being the kinds of people who buy a fully staffed super yacht, take it for a quick spin round the harbour and then decide what they need most in life is a second yacht and maybe a second summer home and a second wife while they’re at it. Did they work hard for their money? Chances are they just inherited most of it, but even if they got it through a salary, they sure weren’t putting in 10,000,000 times the effort of a public school teacher earning borderline minimum wage and paying for classroom supplies out of her own pockets with no hope of even a slight pay raise at the end of the year. Powerful corporations run by powerful wealthy people for the benefit of other powerful wealthy people do not need you to defend them from commenters on the internet. Quite often, the benefit they provide customers only exists because they’ve calculated it’s monetarily advantageous to throw us a bone. If tides change and it turns out screwing you over is what will increase growth this quarter, they’ll screw you no matter how many times you went in to bat for them. Maybe people have a right to make money, but there’s a lot of other rights to consider as well: privacy, freedom of expression, an artist’s right to give or withhold consent regarding the use of their work, not to mention the simple right to live peacefully with access to food, shelter etc. A CEO’s right to pick up whatever they take a liking to and squeeze it until money falls out (money they’ll then dump in a vault full of more money, most of which they’ll never actually get around to using), should be fairly low on most sensible people’s list of priorities.
Without a doubt, they have a very good graphics engine, the only thing they need is to be able to customize their visual assets in Unreal Engine 5, because the truth is that there are games that look too similar in Unreal Engine 4, unlike Hogwarts Legacy and The Callisto Portocol They use a customized version in Unreal Engine 4, which makes the game look impressive, that should be possible in Unreal Engine 5.🤔
