I bought my GT4 in 2021 and have get this... 60K miles on it and it runs just fine, and oil usage is the same. I opted for PDK as I have a fully modified manual E30 that I've had since new in 1989. I have the Clubsport Softronic ECU Tune which allows you to flash tune the car without sending your ECU. It also integrates the valve control into your original controls. I also swapped out the OAP's and the sound is way better and as loud as you really should need it to be. I don't plan to sell my car, so I'm not concerned about the miles. I do my own oil changes and just recently did my brakes and serpentine belt. I love everything about this car still.
Nice... It's fun to do a little work on these cars. Oil changes, brakes even put a gt3 intake manifold in my 987 S myself. Light weight flywheel is another nice upgrade. Headers through stock exhaust... I'm at 490,000 miles... Runs like a top... Bilstein R9 shocks, flashed the chip ... 365hp. Engine never has been opened... Oil usage is stable... Bought used at Brumos Jacksonville 2010 with 42,000 miles. So worry not about the mileage. Oil chg with filter about every 5-6,000 miles. BEST CAR I'VE OWNED... Good video. JOHN Dade City Florida 😊
Welcome back! I've missed your down to earth content, respect for running your GT4 as a daily and not being afraid of the mileage and taking it to the Swiss Alps.
Interesting video especially the part about the car being MOT compliant after the exhaust mods. It would have been nice to know the cost of the exhaust mods. The car looks and sounds amazing.
I’ve only recently found your channel but wish I’d found it sooner to follow a long with your ownership of this car. Your content is great. Keep it up!
I used to own a 987 cayman S & loved the notchy manual gearbox. For the GT4 I opted for pdk, no regrets, great on track. I'm on just over 5000 miles & have topped up 500ml of oil.

I own an GT4 in Germany. But i have only driven 1800 in one year. I booked a "Werksabholung (Leipzig)' in 2023. If you buy a new Porsche, this is a must, not a option. My dailies are an Cayenne S and an Aud TT RS plus. And thanks for your content.
Hi, did you have a Porsche warranty on the car, if so how did removing the OAPs affect that ? Also, did you need to remap the ECU once the OAP's were removed ? PS: I bought your old valve controller and still loving it !
Hey dude!! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the controller 🤟🏼🤟🏼 I think it’s just dealer dependant. Some dealers will argue and void your whole car, some will void on the exhaust, some probably don’t care. Ultimately, if you’re worried, leave it alone. A dealer would even void your warranty for putting the controller on 🤷🏻♂️ And no, OBD blocker. I’ve linked that in another similar comment on here
Car looks SO much better now. Did they paint match the wheels to GT Silver or did they use the silver that comes on the stock silver wheels? GT Silver is a darker shade of silver than the silver wheel color, but it looks like you have a good match (unless it’s brake dust that’s darkening your wheels slightly?)
Great video as always and nice to see long form content from you! I might have missed it, did you mention what your daily car is because the GT4 is now a weekend car?
In the market to buy a gt4 but I’m concerned about speed bumps especially in central London. There are a couple that I drive over and they are extremely large. Does anyone have an issue with the ride height as that’s the only real concern I have.
Good content, new subscriber. Just got my second 718 Spyder and it has buckets and 6 speed. I’m sold on the 6 speed, but not the buckets would prefer 18 ways just not tracking this car personally mostly because I own two track cars already (MX-5 and Civic EG6). I guess I have not discovered yet how to comfortably get out of them 😂
Ah yes… but spyder. You’ve got a cheat code 😅 To be fair, the comforts aren’t any easier. The car being so low requires a bit of assistance from the door or steering wheels too
@@MrHCarsI’m on the fence about putting graphics on mine to be honest. Like the clean look but then I see cars like yours with graphics and it gets me thinking again!
Thanks for the updates and thoughts but after 20 K miles, oil consumption and any issues would also have been of interest. I understand why a PDK experience might be something worth experiencing, but I suspect it would not take long before you miss the engagement of a manual. Unless of course you're growing old and lazy before your time.

So good to see a GT4 actually being used properly. FairPlay. Wheel colour and decals finish it off perfectly 👌
@@CJR_989 thank you mate ! 🫶🏼
Great cars. The PDK is a great gearbox, maybe the best of its type, but I would always go for a manual in a GT4 when the gear change is that good.
Yep grass is always greener 😅

The carbon buckets are honestly very comfortable. Only hard part is getting in and out of them.

Amazing 2 car garage! That’s the dream one day!

I’ve always preferred darker rims but you are right the silver rims really do make it pop love the decals as well, good job!
I love everything about your car. The color, the seat, the transmission and most importantly it’s driven.

Great little run though. So good to hear you still get through MOT with the OAPs fitted. Sounds so good now!
Agreed! Definitely the best exhaust mod on the gt4! 🤌🏼
Great video. Love the Cargraphic valve controller, made a huge difference on mine as well!
Yeah it’s the little things. Perfect middle ground if you don’t want to touch the exhaust

Lovely!! A very good garage selection 👏🏼👏🏼
I keep hearing conflicting info about OAPs and passing MOT...so good to know it passes!
It 100% shouldn’t have and is still illegal to drive…
