PEOPLE: don't bleed anything, just remove the engine brake fluid cap and let it sit undone until your work it's done. Use 2 times wd-40 on the 13 bolts and let it sits for 5 minutes. Caliper Bracket bolts (13mm) 65Nm not 100nm (don't overdoit, it's not so much nm, be carrefull). copper grease is proven by test and science that is good BUT only on the hub (center circle in and out). For the wire 6:50 use a Screwdriver Remover Tool, it's a life saver for everything on this job , and use like in the video a hammer on the clip 7:06 to be sure it's all the way down there (it's the only "security" on brakes, so be sure it's put right back on). Nice job sir overwall!
Good job, well done. Great tip about dumping out the old brake fluid and not just pushing it back into the system. Further to that, I would use the opportunity to bleed the front brakes and flush out more of the old fluid. Thanks for making the video and for taking the time to upload. 👍
Early ABS systems could be wrecked by pumping fluid 'backwards' through them! This is 'best practice', it necessitates topping up with fresh fluid, something a lot of owners neglect.
Awesome, get him started young. He'll gain lifelong skills. Be sure to watch my Saab disc change video too. I put a lot more 'best practices' and explanation into it. ua-cam.com/video/weNTH8dSabc/v-deo.html Do let us know how you get on.
For anyone watching, these are the correct torque specs to use when doing this job Caliper Bracket bolts (13mm) 65Nm Caliper Slide pin bolts (H7) 35Nm 90Nm for the wheel nuts (19mm)
Didn’t know about bleed nipple method... I did mechanics of college too. Why is it bad practice to let the fluid back into the system? And why not use copper grease?
Hi. Thank you for your video on replacing brake disc & pads on the mk6 fiesta. I have a question for you. Do you find when it rains or giving the mk6 fiesta a wash. Water get through on the off side top of the suspension where the 3 bolts are ? and if so do you know how it's happening and how to fixed it please ? My Fiesta is a 05 plate. Thanks
There is one caveat with Ceratec: if the car is newer and has PVC based (instead of natural rubber) seals etc, then don't use Ceratec. There is an alternative - I'll find out what it is.
Hello , i have fiesta 2009. and my brakes pedal is soft. and it has been bleeding. and after bleeding is the brake still soft.. what can it be as problem? thank you
It might be 12mm, but with rust, it might not be possible to get a 12mm on. This might be why the nut got rounded! I would take a fine file and clean up the nut across the flats. Then see if a 12mm socket fits.

Great tutorial, very informative.
Going to be doing this next week with my son on his 1st car.

Yeahhhh, I've seen enough there to realise that I'll be taking my Fiesta to the garage! :D!
Thank you I have been waiting for this video to do my Mazda. It’s the same as fords.
Glad to help 👍, Mazda 3?

Caliper Bracket bolts (13mm) 65Nm

90Nm for the wheel nuts (19mm)
Thanks for that info, Yasser.
@@CycloneCyd Hi do you know drain oil plug
& oil filter black cover torque specs for Fiesta MK 5 or MK6?

The gym has the term "broscience", it's a shame that mechanics don't have a similar term.
It isn't bad practice

Thanks, Steve
Great video as you said tgat dam bracket nuts I got issue So. Wrexham. Gas I try
Wondering if that size bracket bolts would fit my ford fiesta fiesta mk6 diesal .2003 ?
i'm getting conflicting info on using ceratec on the slide pins. some say never use on pins and some say do use it. what is the right answer and why?
There is one caveat with Ceratec: if the car is newer and has PVC based (instead of natural rubber) seals etc, then don't use Ceratec. There is an alternative - I'll find out what it is.
Do you buy any chance have a link to the Caliper Carrier Bolts at 3:40?
No. Find the thread size from the holes and get some suitable 12.9 grade screws from a local engineering suppliers, flange head preferably.
I thought it was 65nm for the carrier bolts. Seems to be a lot of conflicting info online about torque settings.

Do u have to put something on the guide pins I did it and just put the pins back in they way they was
Why not to use copper grease on the hub???
It dries out and sticks the disc to the hub. Also galvanic corrosion. Keep copper grease well AWAY from brakes.
You can use copper grease.
Is there no disc retain screw on these
NO. The discs are held in place by the wheel nuts only. So be careful, the disc is loose when the wheels are off.
@@CycloneCyd thanks mate I just bought one and this video helps me thanks
1/2" socket? It's not metric?
