We’re gonna need a bigger garage 😮
Me too!!! 🏍️😎🤘
😆
I need a motorcycle port
HA HA ! yes!!
I'm guessing you're not married. Lol or she doesn't know
A Classic 650 as stylish and beautiful as the 350!?
I would buy it in a heartbeat and have, probably, one the best all rounders on the market.
And, best of all in terms of practicality, foot rests that doesn't make its rider feel cramped like a jockey, as the Interceptor and (even more the Continetal GT) does and with a pair of silencers (or mufflers) that allows its owner to assemble some decent size panniers to it to hit the road on longer trips!
Just perfect! 🤩
As usual, great video Stu.
Best regards from Brazil.✌
I am so looking forward to this! I love my 350, but it does lack a little in being able to overtake, this engine upgrade would be absolutely perfect….excited!
Nous sommes d'accord, j'adore le look de la Classic 350, il est vrai qu'elle manque de puissance pour doubler.
Bien à vous et bonjour de France 🇨🇵
RE are so smart, re-using a parts tin of reliable engines and electronics drastically reduces R&D costs, keeping the bikes we love 1) reliable 2) affordable 3) Parts availability...! The more I associate with RE, the more I approve of my decision..! Thanks for the update.
Seems like a classic Toyota movie, init?
It's genius use same engine and change the frame
I hope we get this new bike in Australia... and I hope it comes in red/chrome too. I'll be on the list for one of these for sure.
Thanks for reporting on this topic
The 650 Classic would be a bike I would buy in a heartbeat!
Cheers
Hahahaha 😂😂🤣 start saving now & you'll be able to keep your Himmy & Rocket.
What would be even better is if they bring out a Constellation 750cc fondly known as the Connie in 1959-60 a 700cc bike so a new Constellation 750 with 53-55hp 63Nm be awesome. Also redesigning the R.E KX 838 V-twin prototype which was air cooled probably why it got shelved a new redesign 838 water-cooled V-twin with Triumph Bonnie like radiator.
Meanwhile in parliament they are discussing blanket wide 20mph speed limits in every town, village and city across the county 😮. The type of legislature to stop any travel unless necessary as it won't be a pleasure anymore.
It totally makes sense that this Classic 650 is disguised with parts from the Super Meteor. Years ago I had to pick up A Prototype of the new Chrysler 300C in Milanoand they used the rusty outside of an much older modell and only the engine and some interior parts where from the new modell in development. So the companies can test important new parts without the risk of reveal too much. I was hoping for a classic 650 ever since I heared of the Super Meteor. Really looking forward! Thanks for this exciting news!
Tell me - what is the difference between an Intercepter in black and chrome and this new Classic super meteor?
@@andrewhayes4246 I think it will only be the Look. They have 3 different looking, but nearly identical 350s and it's OK for me. I find the Meteor a little Bit boring, but Like the Look of the classic. A Classic with more power Looks Like a good Idea for me.
@@andrewhayes4246 Seating position at least.
@@tomiinkinen2482 I have ridden the Interceptor, it is already comfortable. The continental GT is too lean-forward for me. Confused.
@@andrewhayes4246 I have only ridden the Continental and I feel the foot pegs are too far back for me too. I've seen some people complain about the Interceptors foot pegs too, so it might be important for some.
As much as a lot of people want the 650, I'm looking forward to see if a 500 classic comes along, maybe lauched at the same time, that would be a quandary which to go for!! As always thank-you Stuart.
@@troykelsoI hear you but ngl, I'd pick the 500 in a heartbeat. Nothing thumps quite like an re 500 😊
I wonder if a 650 twin Classic will be that popular. The Bullet/Classic has always been a single cylinder and a lot of it's charm has come from that single cylinder thumping away. Just shoving a twin 650 into a Bullet styled bike may take the charm away. Personally I'd like to see a 500 based on the 350 J series engine.
It hasn't always been a single they did make a 500 twin!
@@alphamale..7Bonhams sold a 1954 500 Twin for £3400 recently. I never knew they made a 500 Twin either!
On one hand I'd prefer a 500 single as well, on the other I don't think they'll be coming up with a whole new engine when they have 2 gems already and 20 hp must be a limiting factor to a lot of riders in Europe and US
@@radekknauer2891 No limiting factor in the US. You can be a brand new rider and waltz out of the dealer with a 200 mph liter bike. We're crazy like that
@@GrampsD63 uh yeah I'm saying that 20 hp of the 350 might be a limiting factor for a lot of people and that's why classic 650 I think will be a hit. Obvs you can get a 200 hp bike but that's not a competition to Royal Enfields and there the limiting factor is just money.
Love this news…only bike I own is the Interceptor which I simply cannot stop admiring. It would be a test of my heart & soul if this new Classic 650 was launched as to wether I’d change. Great video as always uncle Stu 👊😎👍
Exactly the same applies to myself. Mine is in the Baker Express colour, and I just adore the bike.
No need to change, do what I did and add it to the collection.
Finally a Harley Davidson I want to own. The RE Classic 650.
I hadn't heard the rumours of the 650 classic, it makes perfect sense though.
I like Royal Enfield's strategy, develop a solid engine then build bikes around it, with the new 450cc Himalayan on the cards, I predicted we'll see more bikes built around that engine.
I'm surprised they haven't started developing a 650 Himalayan.
Keep up the good work of keeping us informed.
Ride safe
So far royal Enfield said they H650 will be the last product from the 650cc line up. Also, H450 is coming and most probably won't want a conflicts of sorts.
There will be the classic 650, Street cruser styled shotgun 650, a scrambler, a faired cafe or something and a dakar styled one which will be the H650s.
RE's strategy has been to give Himalayan a different engine, which is not shared with other models
@@sijithar7069 that'd be much better, 650 engine is way to heavy anyway.
The rumours of the Classic 650 had me paused for a while for getting the Interceptor 650, but being an impatient old coot I got one anyway. But I did what Royal Enfield models invite to do with a huge aftermarket of quality custom parts and steadily am rebuilding to have that early 70's look - pretty chuffed with it. I'm sure the Classic 650 will have a very strong appeal to jump into the gap that the Classic 500 has left - with a more powerful engine. But for me, already owning a Classic 500 as well - the current style and look of my Interceptor 650 rather compliments the "retro collection" without being a copy of each other with different engines. But I will certainly check the Classic 650 out when it becomes available. I'm just one of those weird people that once I commit to a bike and make it my own, it's hard to part from it unless it finally falls apart - and in the case of my Interceptor - with the care I give it, that can take a good while 🙂
A part of me is excited because its a 650 but another part of me is a bit disappointed why its a twin. Would have been a lot cooler if it where a 650 single with a kickstart.
But anyway, RE is really doing a fantastic job at catering to the motorcycle market with their reasonably priced bikes with real world performance.
Mano: 650 single with a kickstart?
Eicher board: get rid of them please
Orthos: YES PLEASE 👏🏿
Brilliant video as always Stuart and this is very interesting indeed and I can't wait for some better pictures and footage 😃👍🏻
I’ve been hearing about the Himalayan 450 as well. I’ll buy them both, if I don’t get the Int650 or Himalayan 411 first 😂
I was at the local dealer today looking at them. The military green classic 350 really appeals to me and actually the Hunter 350 as well but I would only realistically put my money down on something that’ll handle American highways. 80mph top speed at least. I don’t cruise at that speed but you need to pass sometimes. The Int650 is the most likely candidate right now because I have my KLR 650 for adventure camping.
Plz make some comentary on truimph- bajaj 400 launched in uk yesterday
I just bought a Classic 350 last week. I love it. I can’t see spending more for 650 but I am interested in the 650 Shotgun which looks very similar to the Classic as far as rider triangle.
In the meantime the classic 650 has been photographed again, this time with more detail, and along side what appears to be a bobber version of the classic 350! My opinion after looking at those more detailed pictures is that the bike is already in its final form, maybe a couple details here an there.
really appreciate all you do Stu with this footage..... though I'm not currently in the market for a RE, I'm a fan and I think when I retire sometime in th enext 10 years this sort of bike or the Interceptor will be the one for me - just before the ICE ban comes in! cheers
Oh God! I love my Classic 350, my Interceptor is motorcycling joy, I’ve just ordered a Super Meteor but with this RE may just have created my ideal one bike garage. I will avidly await a long term review from you and The Missenden Flyer (I’ve bought 4 bikes based on your, and his reviews) and my RE collection came from your enthusiasm.
I’ve taken my Classic from one end of Britain to the other (NC 500 twice, the Shetlands, Orkneys and down to Lands End) my Interceptor from Norway to Southern Italy, this would be my ideal weekend pootler and my perfect tourer all in one. The RE brand is cheap, unless you buy lots of them!
Yes that is true , in compare one triumph for the price of two Enfields . don't get me wrong i like triumph a lot but not that much that i would pay 40 to 45 % more when Royal Enfield can give me that . ( what i mean is shorter rides like in town i do with my Hunter 350 (so much fun !) , longer rides with my Int 650 also much fun but different , right?)
I can’t wait to see it. Love the current Classic styling but did not think the engine was big enough. This will be really cool
I am hoping RE would launch their base model "Bullet 350" i.e. not a Classic soon enough!
Stu,
I am 67 year old and never rode a motorcycle. You was the best thing in you tube even if you are not in the USA. I translate what you say to my community and have become a RE fan. I plan to buy at least 3 bikes since I would still be paying what I would for a Japanese bike we do not eve want to talk about HD and the Indian
Spot on been looking forward to this one. Was hoping for a Christmas present to myself but looks like i will have to wait a little longer😅😅
You knew I'd have to comment. I've been holding out for a refresh since it was announced the more powerful Bullet was to be discontinued (which baffled me). I even relayed on reports for plans and tests some time ago (although, like this, I was unable to verify). My hopes and comments were met with skepticism. Now here we are. I hope this news is true, pans out and the result continues the upward trajectory Royal Enfield has been on for quite some time. All the best.
Thanks SF. Great job. Good info. God bless.
HAPPY TRAILS
This is exactly the bike I want them too build. I'm sure it will sell in huge numbers when it comes out.
Same. I’ve been wanting them to make this for years. The only thing I hope they include is adequate pannier mounting for touring
This would be pretty cool, as I agree they missed the mark slightly with the forward controls on the SuperMeteor, although I admit I have not ridden one, I just know I like to be able to stand on the pegs going over bumps or in a corner. Relatedly, I loved your analysis of the SuperMeteor, especially the comparison to the Sunbeam S7, because my first thought when I saw the SuperMeteor was: "Slap a beach bar and mid-mount controls on that and I'm in for sure at that price!". If it's no issue to convert to mid controls, I think the SuperMeteor might be the cheapest route to that classic upright cruiser feel without any lean-in to reach for the bars (war-era?) but with modern tech such as EFI, Showa, modern brakes and tires, etc. Side-note: I don't fully like that google tripper thing on the gauge cluster where the tachometer should be. That relies on wireless connectivity, so it is too fragile. It would be nice to have if it weren't crowding out a tach and if it always worked regardless of...anything. Perhaps it does load the maps and I'm missing that, but if all it takes to shut it down is a loss off bluetooth connection with the phone in your pocket or data connectivity between phone and tower, that's pretty flimsy, to the point that you might as well rip it off and mount your phone there. Other than that gripe, I'm very excited about the direction Royal Enfield is going here with the reported build quality and reasonable prices. Thanks for the thoughtful run-downs and listenable narration.
Great video…interesting opinions and take on what you could glean from the video. 👍
More temptation on the way! I'm off to the dealers this week as it is, with the offers on of £300 to £500 off all the current models! ( a new Hunter 350 is looking for a spot in my garage)
Will they ever stop teasing us! 😆 cheers for keeping us updated Uncle Stu 👍
Some interesting bikes coming with the 650 classsic and the Triumph 400s
Interesting Stuart it be a big seller for sure. Nice vid as always.👍
Nice vid as always. The Super Meteor isn't available in the States but I'm sure it would sell. I love the look of the Classic 350 and the performance of the Interceptor. If RE offers the 650 (or even a 500 thumper), I'll definitely buy one.
Give it a 360° crank, remap to a lower idle, bring it in at 180kg wet and I'll buy one. Whats a few vibrations. Thanks Stu.
Haha Dain 🌲 can't see that happening.R.E will milk the 650 for all it's worth & 650 Himmy with 19" front wheel instead of 21" is on it's way & 450 water cooled Adv bike.
More chance R.E bring out a 750 using current 650 motor & calling it a Constellation 750 like the original 1959 Constellation 700cc.Give the Connie 750cc 54-55hp 63Nm have a winner.Another could be a 900 V-twin water cooled based from new 450 water-cooled in a few years time similar to the KX 838cc air cooled V-twin prototype from a few years ago.A 650 Classic be a massive seller.
Fantastic video as always
Aay oh...you are a master of motor bike videos Stu....
Makes sense to me that RE would develop this 650 twin as well as a 500cc single to round out both of those lineups. Where they go after that will be even more interesting...
bobber kx 838 will be next product its a v2in engine can search on youtube
I was really hoping RE would come out with a bigger single for their Classic line up
+1
Perhaps they don't forsee enough sales volumes to justify the development of a new 500cc single, so they chose the 650 twin instead for the larger Classic. The old 500cc Classic/Bullet never sold in large numbers in the price and mileage conscious Indian market, since there wasn't much in terms of product differentiation from the cheaper 350 to justify the higher price tag and running costs. That said, a 500cc might make more sense than the 350 for the Western markets. So, if they could figure out some kind of product differentiation for a new 500cc and/or anticipates enough sales to justify the development of such a platform, perhaps they might just go for it.
@@vineethg6259 Yep probably the cost of a new engine not viable when you have a decent one for the 650cc's.
It would also kill sales of the 350 as well.
Well, at last. Cant wait to see finished item in the metal.
Oh yes. Got a Himmy last year and i'm very happy. With the 650 Twins i always had some nitpicking with every Model so far. The M Handlebars (Conti) don't go along with my sore old back, the Cruiser forces my feet in front of the knees, huge red flag. Interceptor was just a little bit too boring to me. But this would be exactly what i could fall for. Awesome, RE keeps me on my toes for sure.
Can't wait for your review of the new Triumph 400X, should be a striking comparison tho the Enfields and a great challenge as you are a fan of both. Stay safe and well Stuart.
The Triumph 400s look interesting but I don't expect them to compete with RE on price. I expect a price closer to to the Interceptor than to the Himalayan?
Cheapest Harley is launched in India single cylinder for just US 3000$
Very interesting. I would prefer the current Classic chassis and bike with a 500cc single. The J engine looks to be perfectly suited to offer top end kits to convert the 350 and the option to offer the current Classic as a 350 or 500 in the showroom.
WOW Great news for various reasons! A Classic with real power!(absolutely nothing wrong with the Classic 350 there will ALWAYS be a market for it!)If this bike has the Looks & Feel of the classic then RE are onto Another Winner! Am with you on the ‘Take My Money Now’ Stu,because this has the potential to blow everything else out the water! Just hope RE don’t shot themselves in the foot when dealing with sales of the SuperMeteor? It certainly got my attention for sure!
Exciting times ahead indeed! Tnx Stu!
i always wanted RE classic with dual exhaust!!!!!! now will get a chance to ride one☺️
A 650 Classic , thinking this will be a popular machine , RE still knocking out excellent affordable bikes , lets hope these bikes still have a place in our future
Having owned a Himalayan when they first come out, I did have build quality issues, blown head gasket twice, headstock bearers wear and generally rust on a 12,000 mile bike. So I was reluctant to purchase another Royal Enfield. I recently took a 350 classic out for a test drive after watching you video's and I was very impressed by the build quality and ride. Royal Enfield are coming on leaps and bounds with there engine's and quality of there build. For country roads and general everyday riding the 350 classic is great.
I wish they would make a new 650 Bullet single like BSA has done.
If the paintwork and chrome work is as good as the current 350 classic, it will be superb.
Are you gonna cover the 400cc triumphs. I really wanted the classic 500 back, we'll see if they can capture that magic here.
The modern classic, be it the 350 or the 500 from a few years back, has a certain delicate appearance that helps give a good whiff of an old 40s or 50s classic. The 650 twin looks such a big lump, especially the bottom end, I envisage a 650 classic being a quite different beast, both visually and dynamically - not just in the power&torque department. I still look forward to seeing more sneaky peaks…
I'll be waiting to see. I love the look of the Classic 350 and a big brother would be perfect. As I get on in years a classic 650 (or better yet a 750) would be perfect for me to blast around on these amazing American West roads well into my 80s. Keep it simple, RE. No rider modes or water cooling for me. Build me a "Super Classic".
Hi Stu,like you I reckon another 12 months before release, was going to buy the SM650 but decided on a second hand Meteor until the Classic 650 is released. The news of the new Triumph 400cc bikes might put a dent in REs sales. News of this future bike will head off those thinking of moving to Triumph.Great times for British motorcycling; an RE,Triumph, and BSA back on the road, just need Norton and Aerial to focus on a larger consumer small bike and I will be in heaven.
But how much will those Triumph 400s be though? Not a lot of people are going to pay over 6000-6500 hundred for a 400cc motor(U.S. prices anyway). They need to keep those small engines south of 7k definitely
@@robbieracer3294 I couldn't agree with you more, although the bikes will be made in India Triumph are a greedy company (like Harley) and I reckon they will be expensive against an RE 350. Hopefully this will keep REs price's low 👍👍
Thanks again Stu.
Man I can’t wait for this. I love my classic 350 but passing a$$hole cage drivers is a chore. That classic 650 is the answer to my prayers.
I love my 350 … but this would be so good. I’ve also paused any thoughts of a next bike until these details firm up.
I seen footage of the R.E 450.
A Classic 650 was always on the cards eventually from R.E & Bikewale is pretty reputable too.
A Connie (Constellation) 750cc be good in the future.
Just have the classic 500 already 4 years....will never sell it but...but...this is the ...the 650 twin classic for sure the second bike in my garage...no doubt..of the super meteor instead..
Could it be a bored out 650 making it into a 750cc Classic?
Great move by RE and Sid. This will appeal to the people who've grown up with a Classic 350 always around.
A larger engine Classic would be ideal. I live in regional South Australia and I really like the style of the Classic 350 BUT with the speed limit where I live at 110kph/70mph - I'm not sure if I want to ride to work with the throttle twisted on all the way with no more room to move. I have seen that there might be some mods that can be done but I haven't fully explored them yet. So tempting to pull the trigger this Spring or early Summer for a Classic 350 but if there is a 650 coming along with the same styling then I think I'll wait.
Very interested but couldnt we have a 40bhp single that sounds like the 350?
I think you’ll find that Triumph has one out now.
@@user-rf9me7xm1w Not 40bhp...and certainly not less then 8k Id have thought. Street twin are you thinking of?
@@MauriceTarantulas No, I’ve had a street twin 900, it’s the new Triumph 400 single made by Baja and sold by Triumph, it was announced yesterday. It’s about 40 bhp.
@@user-rf9me7xm1w ahh yeah knew about that one..
@@MauriceTarantulasYes, it looks ok, it’s certainly got more grunt than the 350 singles from RE. I’m still a bit nervous about having another Triumph though, my Street twin was a bit of a disaster. Down sized to an MT 03, perfect for me.
Good morning Stuart, will you be doing any videos on how to bleed the brakes on these REs in particular the interceptor. It will be good see such a video done in detail. Many Thanks and regards
Good Morning Stu , as you said the photo's are poor but i think everybody & their granny will want this bike , i would have prefer a duel seat like the interceptor , Take care & ride safe
I had an Enfield 535 which had been privately imported from India. I've never been keen on the US custom typestyling with the peanut tank and high bars so I did modify it to more of a Bullet spec. When I got it there was only about 5500 miles on the clock as the previous owner wasn't very good at kickstarting the bike!
Well, this makes my choice more difficult... I was wanting a sidecar host, the front runners were the Interceptor and Super Meteor... Now there is this new classic (hopefully sooner rather than later AND available in the US)
If they keep the weight (at least not increasing it over the high weight the 350 has compared to the interceptor) it would be nice. The fact its not mono and it will be probably a twin its not a bad idea, it will be cheaper than making a specific 650 mono and its a really good engine and now you will be able to cruise on the highway.
If you dont like the sound, just add fuelx and a custom air filter, that will do the job and increase its efficiency and sound.
Egad!
More new models .
Haven't had the chance to check out the meteor 650.
All the Himalayan 411 needs is the Hitchcock camshaft. Perhaps a few more watts from the alternato r
Morning Stu. A 650 classic does make sense to me. As I understand it, they dropped the 500 single because they couldn’t get it through euro 5 compliance. The 650 engine will. Indeed my Interceptor is euro 5 compliant. Unless they are working on a water cooled 500?
I love my GT 650, but if or when a 650 classic arrives, I think I’ll trade away my excellent GT for a new Classic. Just for the looks. Big fun. Carry on, Mr. Fillingham!
I love all of the "i absolutely love this bike but "couldn,t it be faster, lighter etc" the danger is that will be a different bike with different characteristics and may not have any of the appeal of the original. We all keep saying what a lovely relaxing steady ride the classic is , well i imagine if you double the weight/horsepower it will just be like all of the other offerings out there. I love my classic 500 and i think they did a great job it cleaned up the earlier kickstart only bullets (more gears /elec start/ no oil leaks) but still feels the same, not sure if more power would retain the classic feel ?. I have owned an early bullet which was also a lovely bike but the classic 500 is easier to live day to day. I think we need to be careful what we wish for 😉. As mentioned often on this channel i believe the classic 500 will be the one you wish you still had in future when you get fed up of power wheelies on your aluminium framed turbo classic 900 😁
Morning Stewart. Hands up, I didn't know. But I did have a reasonable excuse. Been running in a new machine. Royal Enfield must be confident especially with the planned expansion of ULEZ etc being rolled out still? Take care and enjoyable safe riding sir till next time 👍😊.
I don’t know anything about the classic, but I saw a 2024 650 Int here in cuenca Ecuador today which had led headlamps, upgraded seat, and something about the light controls that I didn’t understand the Spanish.
A bike with all the great features of the last model(s) 500 Bullet, 350 Classic, etc. only with a twin cylinder... Marvelous !! + 2 cylinders to do the work; Much smoother operation. I'd say...
P.S) Include a oil cooler; That would be a nice touch for the engine, eh?
After 2000 miles on my 350 I still love it, but would trade for a 650. Classic if they come to the uk.
Ohh boy 😍. The lack of money and space is becoming a frustrating first world problem. And Triumph are launching their 400s .... which also look nice. Goddammit !!!
OMG! More choices from RE! This is too much! Which one? Which one? 🤯
A BULLET MUST BE A SINGLE!
Another excellent video 🙏👍💙🏴
Such a good idea, fantastic news, luv RE😊😊😊😊👍🏻
Eagerly eagerly eagerly waiting for classic 500/650cc
knew this classic 650 was inevitable, but i want the 650 scrambler!
Are you going to get the svm stormbreaker in England? Would you do a road test on that and tell us what you think of it? You always give us an honest review because you're not a fanboy. What's going on with the internal combustion engine ban? Anyting more on the guy who ripped off all those people with the Norton debacle? You are much more honest about things than most of the UA-camrs who just gush over whatever motorcycle they get to ride for free 🆓. Did triumph ever fix your gearbox issue? Modern motorcycles should not have any problems. That's why you buy a new motorcycle 🏍️. Ride safe be healthy be happy 😁. Kudos from America.
Thanks Stuart, I have a cognac colour pannier on its way to me. Well chuffed to get 15% off. 👍
Not sure Uncle Stu? I still think they could move the Interceptor to being a modern classic interpretation of the 60s classic and bring out a 500 classic. Then the Meteor could be the linking bike in their range 350, 500, 650. The Hunter's could be there up to date naked bikes, probably going water cooled tp P*** Off Triumph. Whatever they have certainly shaken up the Industry for the better...
I would love to hear what your ideas are with regards to this now, as it is nearly a year later. We know a big classic is coming eventually (hopefully more classic styled than this one) but maybe this was just a prep for the shotgun?
Yes please, especially in signal colors
I am curious about what is coming first, the Shotgun 650 or this? It definitely seems like the Shotgun will be revealed this year since we have been seeing test bikes for that for 1.5 years and the Classic 650 are only now being spotted and Indian sites are saying its a 2025 release whereas they say 2023 for the awesome looking Shotgun.
Whale need is 750 or hopefully 850 bikes … come on Enfield… your bikes are great and getting better…
Exactly what I’ve been waiting for!
I wonder if it's a prototype or somebody custom-built with the 650 I own the 350 in California and I love it
I am holding off buying a new bike and waiting for the classic 650 to be released in Australia. The 350 is a little too small I think for 2 up with my missus. I can't wait.
I hope they haven’t made it too heavy, I had a 350 Meteor as a loan bike and thought this with a 650 engine would be great, then they made it but it weighs so much more than my Interceptor, so my interest waned.
Hello Sir..please help with one advise..which is better Triumph Speed 400 or RE Classic 350 or RE650 twins? Thank you
So where's the signals 650?
Im in.
350 / 650 Combo Pack.
I run the Signal 350 Marsh Grey with all the ugrades....Smooth..
I hope they slap some OD green or Desert khaki on it! Great news - RE can take my money too!
I love the look of the Classic 350 Reborn. I doubt that a 650 twin will look, or sound, as good. I think the Interceptor looks so so, and the Super Meteor could have looked much better. A new, retro styled 500 single is what I would like, so I'll pass - and wait.
Postscript - and having written the above, up pops a notification from MOTOBOB that Triumph have just announced some new 400cc singles. Not retro, but with a claimed 40ps they will no doubt sell in numbers. Only a Royal Enfield alike price could possibly tempt me though . . .
I was hoping for the next classic to be the 450 water-cooled single.
A 650 Classic could be a winner. IF they don't make it flat black. And something that could make it even better would be to use the same type of tubeless wire spoke wheel that Honda used for the 1986 and 1987 Rebel 450. That would make the bike far more reliable for longer trips, and it would still look the part. Honda does not have any kind of patent on that wheel design, and has not used it since 1987, though I don't understand why.
well - let's put it that way: I still haven't got a parallel twin in my collection. dunno if I really need one, there are other temptations out there and the collection isn't supposed to increase by much ... but if RE would make a "Classic 650", that might look quite nice next to the 500 single, wouldn't it?
