As an old pilot, touching buttons, pulling levers, turning knobs is all a part of my joy of flying. Mousism is not my cup of tea. For me the price although high is an investment in my flying. Just like playing golf on a spectacular course, it is a whole new level of enjoyment. Regards to all. Thank you, Gavin. My order has been placed.
I recently purchased the SIMBOX app and have been using that for MCDU purposes for the Fenix A320. Works really well on my cheap tablet and also suffices on my 6.7 inch Android phone when I am too lazy to go upstairs and get my tablet 🤪
I love the tactile feeling of having a physical box to program, but I’ve been hesitant to buy this unit. Seems like a lot of setup and pre-configuring for something that could be implemented a bit smoother. Cockpit simulators sells a FMC for the 737 (works with PMDG) that is usb plug-n-play. All you need to do is run client software in the background before launching the sim and it does the rest. No fiddling with hdmi cables, resizing windows, etc. i think I’ll wait until they make a MCDU for airbus. Thanks for the video tho….enjoyed seeing how it performs in real life.
You forgot the 99% promo code ? It’s quite big. I do wonder if a iPad mini would be as good. You could change between Boeing and Airbus then. Two totally different products I accept, but more versatile. An 8” pad is much cheaper also
As others have suggested, using a tablet, along with, say, SimBox, works a treat at one tenth the cost - assuming you already have a tablet. Mine works perfectly. I have no wish to part with a lot of money just for the added bonus of plastic keys instead of touch-screen keys on the tablet.
Tablets don't work well in VR. That said, I agree about the price on this unit, plus the fact that they use knock off Arudinos. And I don't need a screen in VR. Right now I'm planning on just making my own eventually.
Hey, amazing video! I was wondering if you've done a review on the QFCU or QCDU, as I'm currently interested in it but I can't find any reviews on it. Any thoughts or opinions?
Any update info on this? I see its still not available for immediate shipping. Seems backorder only. I dont really like paying companies ahead of time for products that arent available

Excellent video as usual. This looks great. So this is the desktop version you have. On the site there s also the pedestal version. Do you know the difference between the two? The pedestal version is a little bit less expensive. Thanks for posting this.
Hi. I have been using the A320fcu unit for a week now but I have a problem. Hope for some help 😊. I can’t get the fonts on the screen to fill the full screen……what to do 😮.
I have seen bad reviews on that one but who knows .. everyone has different expectations and what value for money is for custom built rather than mass produced devices for the SIM community.
@@Easyjetsimpilot But I don't want to use the screen. I fly in VR. MY question is if it will physically work if you don't plug in the screen (IE will the buttons and functionality still work,. just not display anything)

Unless I’m missing something Gav this sounds like a big rip off, It’s a lot cheaper to just use a tablet of any sort and connect it through either simbridge (FBW) where there’s zero lag as you connect through your internet or tab the display out to your tablet like this and take the unavoidable hit on fps within msfs. At 329 euros your paying for the look of this thing, unless your building a home cockpit and want it for the realism look you’d be crazy to pay for this, the developer just seems to want to make a quick buck, and it’s made out of plastic and a cheap screen, but the price isn’t cheap.
Of course, it is personal preference. I have used a tablet in the past which works well, but there is no tactile feel and response. There's also no immediate version for the Fenix A320 on a tablet.

Also regarding you using the tablet in the past, it was your video I watched that got me into doing it so thanks again for that mate. Awesome channel, keep up the great content 👍
I have to say the fact that they use the CH340 drivers tells me almost 100% they use clone rather than genuine Arduinos which makes me a little upset. I don't want to support companies that do that. Just use the certified boards for crying out loud.
So I bought this unit. I was more than...disappointed to say the least. First, the buttons were all yanked out during shipping and I had to reattach them inside the holes it fell out from. It is literally a 3D-printed piece of sh** plastic box that is loose and has the FCU unit slapped on top held together by tiny screws that were yanked out during shipping. After plugging in the unit according to the video and the website, the unit just didn't want to send commands in to the flight sim. The lights did not work at all. After mailing the company with the issues, asking for a replacement, I waited 3 weeks for a response and still did not get an answer after multiple attempts. I really can't recommend this piece of junk to anyone who values their money. I threw over 330 euros outta the window for something that won't work. I am more than frustrated.
Yeah this is DOG, for that price it should NOT need to be an external display that kills performance. It should be entirly self contained running its own systems that simply report back commands. So finally there is a compatible MCDU available for the Fenix? Wow this is wonderful!
