- Hey guys, new guitar on the channel today. I've put 1946 Gibson L-5 #2 since there was already another 1946 Gibson L-5 on the channel but that had a more orange ish burst. The one i'm played today is from a friend in Paris who is currently selling it, so feel free to drop me an email if interested and i'll put you in contact with the seller. I'm also downsizing my guitar collection and i'm selling a few things.
I'm playing the standard Beautiful Love which was composed in 1931 by Wayne King, Victor Young and Egbert Van Alstyne.
This guitar was made in 1946, top of the line 17 inches at Gibson, model L-5 with parallele brace and long scale. It is strung with D'Addario nickel round strings gauge 12 and i'm using a dunlop gator .71mm pick. The sound is captured by both a Neumann TLM 103 and a Bluebird.

I bougt something I thought I would never buy. It's a Chinese copy of the 1924 small bodied L5 called The Loar LH 700 model and it has the sound/tone of the mid 20s L5. It's a 2019 and I got it inexpensively and the book matched flame maple back was a real surprise. I wanted it bc I now have a guitar I'm not afraid to travel with. I hate taking the others out of the house.
Those can be great value for money, and cool option for travel guitars ! Levins also are, very happy with my 44 model 22, inexpensive and great. You can hear it on the channep
@@AcousticStandards After hearing yours I tried to find some in the USA but they are difficult to come by over here. I am really happy with the Loar and it was a total surprise soundwise. They even copied in the 1924 era V neck which I kind of like. I know it's crazy but another one I have my eye out for is a circa 1912 Style 0 Artist but the necks on those are huge. The literal baseball bat.
