Wow! Goodness. I expected young sir to be a technical phenom, but the feel and clarity in his melody is what threw me off. So impressive to see him play a way that takes many people a lifetime to achieve such level and maturity in their playing. Well done young man!
The grand things the fellow at the end of the vid said about this phenomenal lil whippersnapper, though accurate, were STILL understated, the kid's THAT good!! Chops is one thing - and appears he's got 'em in droves, the kid - but, it's the feel & emotion captured while he's playing (that is well beyond that of the average 11 year old) that really shines through.
That BIG L-5 is just so huge in young Saxon's hands. He's been blessed with long enough fingers to work that fat neck so good for him. Sounds just great!
61 years old. Just busted up my Ibanez GB10. It’s going to be very cold and I need the kindling. Seriously - at 11 years old, I have absolutely no doubt he practices and works his butt off. Still, Pat Metheny gets a little insulted when you call him a genius for that reason. PM picked up the guitar when he was 12, but there is definitely musical genius DNA involved with (him) Saxon. Musical composition is the next challenge. I think prodigies don’t like being called geniuses because it detracts from the hard work they have put in to their talent and they don’t have much control over the cosmic roll of the dice. I sincerely hope that Saxon Weiss stays in the genre. We need more young folks to carry the legacy of folks like Wes.
I started at 11 years old but back then we played The Monkees and Paul Revere and the Raiders. I had no clue about jazz. Heck, I'm almost 68 and I still know painfully little about it. Amazing young man, definitely someone to watch out for.
Way to go Saxon. That kid is just so far ahead of the curve it is unbelievable. Like fingerstyle, fancy chords, arpeggios, melodic runs. Of course I am 53 years and he is just 11. Fingerstyle fills up space if you play alone a lot. Find it interesting that someone that young can be so musically mature.
He plays with a lot of confidence! I'll have to catch him down the road playing with other talented musicians. It's great to see a young kid learning the ropes and killing it. Soak it all in Saxon, and this is just the beginning of your journey.
Folks, we are witnessing a future star in the making here. Reminds me of Bonamassa circa 1990. Of course, the kid is in great company being right next to Lemmo who can also guide him there.
I see a number of very young "prodigy" guitarists on UA-cam - but most of them are mimicking old rock and blues stuff. Which is okay, sometimes even impressive, but playing jazz guitar well at such a young age is a whole other animal - especially when one has an ear for tonal color and harmony. And you just don't get good at jazz without having a love for it, cause there's a lot to understand. Keep it up, son!
You certainly Rock Saxon. And I absolutely adore you and your music 🎶 You are a complete phenomenal artist and I know you are going to the very very Top of your career and not only are you talented and amazing too you are a lovely person too. ❤❤❤❤
Amazing. That was as beautiful to hear as it was to watch. So refreshing to hear and see such a great, young, and disciplined talent that will mature like a fine wine or a fine Gibson guitar. Thank you so much for sharing. Great job Saxon (cool name). Can't wait to hear more.
What a talent! Wow!!! Thanks to the Norms crew for taking this kid under their wing and really showcasing his talent. Kids already better than I am! Cheers!
The Wes L5CES is in my top 3 dream guitars, but I haven't gone after it bcs 1. I don't play nearly well enough to do it justice, and 2. I'd have a hard time making the stretches on that 25.5" neck - and I'm 6'4"! Saxon just blew BOTH of those arguments out of the water. My first thought: I'd chip in my share to get him that guitar. Maybe we start a GoFund me. Not sayin we should do it, but then again, not sayin we shouldn't.
I suppose the greatest thing about his playing is the feel he’s able to put into his performance. It may sound unimportant, but I think it’s a sign of artistic maturity and reaching it at 11 is quite remarkable. Young Saxon will certainly go places…
WOW, Saxon you're really a gifted player, incredible is not even an accurate word for your ability, Thank you so much for sharing a few moments with everyone. Peace
I'm 70 years old, I started when I was 14 and I can tell you this...I can play an E chord just as good as he can. Uhh, well almost as good. LOL Bravo young Saxon.
Awesome playing Saxon !! The best compliment I can give you is , that playing was very reminiscent of the great Chet Atkins !! Keep up with your style of playing !! Amazing !!
OMG! There is hope for the future of beautiful guitar music when I see and hear such awesome playing in such young and very capable hands. Really enjoy this young lad’s playing. Immense original talent. Thanks for featuring Saxon Weiss! His name sounds stage ready. Great playing!!!
This is fantastic!!! See kids? this is what happens when you get up in the morning and don't spend your life on your phone, and selfie-ing your life away. Beautiful playing.
Ok, so let me understand this!!? He’s been on the planet for 11Yrs??? So.. he’s been playing for……6 Yrs????? WTF!.. unbelievable… Amazing at almost ANY age, let alone at 11… doesn’t make sense!!! Imagine him at 25? I hope he stays humble, and surrenders to the music, not the music Business…..
You have quite a few hard jazz guitars beginners who deliver quite nicely but often they carry something a bit mecanic, as if there was still computer somewhere watching and correcting. But this young guy is so fluid and naturally concentrated on his playing, it's very pleasant and rare too.
I bought that L5 new from Musicians Friend. It Is a 2012, and one of the nicest L5's you will ever see. I recently sold it to Norm because I wasn't playing it much anymore. That guitar, everything sounded good when paying it. The wood is beautiful especially the flamed maple back and neck. I am so happy to hear Saxon make it come to life. I cared for that guitar for 11 years, and it is in terrific condition. If you can afford it, this guitar is world class, call Norman's Rare Guitars today !
A perfect platform to showcase such tasteful talent, regardless of age. Future aspirations aside, he'll have the guitar to lean on, for peace, for comfort, for joy - forever. Wonderful.

Crazy to see an 11 year old play with such confidence and taste. Sounds great!!!

Top playing, beautiful mellow sound. 👍👍👍.

Great player for his age. Gonna be a great Jazz player as the years go by... Well done.
Jeez.... I could listen/watch him play all day.... Wow!!
It is so refreshing to hear an 11 year old jazzing amazing Saxon, can't wait to hear you at 14.
The guitar is as big as him . But he plays with such innocence and purity. A joy to hear.
Stunning. Can't wait to see this kid in 10 years.

It is humbling to see an 11 yr old who blows me away on guitar, and I’ve been playing for 45 years.

Nice! I am selling all my gear now.
Pure talent. That was really soothing to listen to. Saxon is well ahead of his years.
What a talent! Wow!!! Thanks to the Norms crew for taking this kid under their wing and really showcasing his talent. Kids already better than I am! Cheers!

Beautifully played Saxon thanks!
So Amazing Sound on these Gibson 🎸 !
Saxon is a Very Good 👍 Guitarist , nice Rythm 👍 !
In a world dominated by shttty rap music it warms my heart to see and hear talent like this. Amazing stuff. So beautiful
Very well said!
Thetrick to finding great music-- which can include hip-hop-- is to avoid the stuff the bigger radio stations play.
Exactly 🎸🎼🎸🎼
He sounds great, and has such musical sensibilities at a young age. Awesome!
I suppose the greatest thing about his playing is the feel he’s able to put into his performance. It may sound unimportant, but I think it’s a sign of artistic maturity and reaching it at 11 is quite remarkable. Young Saxon will certainly go places…

The word you’re looking for might be ‘wealthy’.
…or „Out of this world!“

Awesome playing Saxon !! The best compliment I can give you is , that playing was very reminiscent of the great Chet Atkins !! Keep up with your style of playing !! Amazing !!
11yo and jamming a jazz rhythm like an old soul, extraordinary.
OMG! There is hope for the future of beautiful guitar music when I see and hear such awesome playing in such young and very capable hands. Really enjoy this young lad’s playing. Immense original talent. Thanks for featuring Saxon Weiss! His name sounds stage ready. Great playing!!!
I was thinking the same thing. His name already sounds like a great stage name.
Wow amazing sense of harmony and ability to play melody and chord arrangements at such a young age.I think the spirit of Ted Greene is alive.
Thick strings for young fingers is hard, but he plays them nearly perfect
He knows where he’s going musically, picked the guitar of the best player ever , Wes Montgomery
This is fantastic!!! See kids? this is what happens when you get up in the morning and don't spend your life on your phone, and selfie-ing your life away. Beautiful playing.

This young man is certainly the real deal. All the best Saxon. Jam on dude!
Real good chops, so young!!!
Truth! eleven years old, pro chops.
Burnin’ all my guitars.. that’s it.. takin’ up fishin’..seriously what a gifted young lad.. hope i live long enough to see him reach the stars..
Great job Saxson !!! Thanks Lemmo and Jen !!!

It's a beautiful example, but deserves to be with an 11 year old prodigy.
Never fails. You think you're becoming a decent guitarist and then an 11 year old shows up.
Maturity in his playing way beyond his years, I'm sure we will be hearing alot about this young lad in the future. 🤘🥂🙏😎
The Little guy is incredible.
A perfect platform to showcase such tasteful talent, regardless of age. Future aspirations aside, he'll have the guitar to lean on, for peace, for comfort, for joy - forever. Wonderful.
Wow such a talent. we will hear a lot about him in a few years.
Bravo!👏
Totally blown away by how many great young guitarist out there today.
Sounds great! Kudos to the adults who support his learning! So important!
Great job Saxon. It’s so nice to a talent young man playing jazz stuff
I didn't expect something so introspective. Pro chops, classic guitar and tone..
Wow11 years old! What a gift he has. I didn’t have a paper route till I was 12! 🎸🎸
I hear ya . I think I was still in diapers .
And still hadn’t discovered the mystery of girls yet either.
I'm thinking about burning my guitars 😅
He's talented!!❤
Always a pleasure to hear this guy's playing.
Браво мали,зрела свирка за твоје године.
Бићеш цар,само настави.
Баш си ме одушевио,поздрав из Србије.
Incredible chord progressions played with taste and ease, I was flabbergasted!
Amazing! 👍🏻
Absolutely amazing, that L5's almost as big as him😊!
Great Playing and Tone !!!!!! Excellent !!!!!
