Take some time to read Greg Ellifritz’s study and conclusions carefully www.buckeyefirearms.org/node/7866
The study was actually from 2011. The difference in round count between .38 special and 9 mm can probably be explained by deliberation of fire vs speed of fire. You can fire a semi-auto 9mm faster. For safety and accuracy reasons, I prefer deliberation of fire, but that is my personal choice.

i grew up with revolvers and i love them but im facing facts that im not miculek and after the riots im convinced that capacity is really the main downside to a revolver and the reload time but i love both i carry the g2c and i love it.

@@joemorganeatmyshortschannel That is an educated choice. And, truth be known, with the shortage of revolver ammo for practice, it looks like I may have to start carrying a 9mm, because I can get practice ammo for that caliber.

I like to think of high capacity vs a revolver this way: If we compare to travel in a car, if we argue a G2C can travel 13 miles and an 856 can travel only 6 miles.....but then we realize no one ever travels more than 3 miles on average, and the 856 has better tires and less chance of a flat in those 3 miles, then which is better?

High Greg it's Rich from Donna Donna. I don't watch the videos anymore because it's hard to even hold the phone. But once in awhile I check out the titles of your videos. Yesterday I popped in and saw your memorial for mr holster and Donna and I just got so sad. We prayed for him and mrs holster along with Jack. We're so sorry we are having a tough time right now and can't help her out. But please send our love to her. When she's up to it one day maybe with the help of friends and his posse she could put together a DVD of his best moments. It could help with her financial situation or raise money for one of the cancer societies. His phone calls with Jack were so funny that we would just crack up. I used to show our friends and they would laugh so hard. He has given so much in my own struggles to give me courage. I remember he would go for his treatment a couple of hours away and come home and work on ranch. Like talking out trees to build a new range. He was quite a man. Maybe our politicans could take a page from his book. Have a great weekend Greg. Rich

We are still getting used to the revolver as it is new to us and with the lack of ammo availability and the price of ammo we haven't had a lot of practice. I've shot 800+ rounds in my Taurus millennium Pro G2 9mm and it's Never failed me in any way. It don't fit my hand like my Smith & Wesson M&P 40 cal. My first personal handgun was a Colt Trooper 357 and I used it in combat. That said, the M856 works out great for concealed carry. I've had excellent experience with the G2C. As for use of safeties on handguns, the first pistol I carried was in the military and it was a 1911. Try caring that cocked and locked without the safety engaged.

A point that you make here is one that I feel strongly about as well. I don't want my weapon to, "disappear." I want that constant reminder pressing in to my back and side, that I AM carrying a lethal weapon. That it can be deadly whether in my hands, or the hands of someone who could take it away from me. Just having the physical pressure of the weapon helps keep me more alert to my surroundings. I believe that if the weapon is Too comfortable and we "forget" that it is there, that we can become too casual in our carry, and in our awareness of our surroundings. I cringe when in a gun store I hear, "Yes, with This weapon and This holster, you can forget that it's there!" I don't Want to forget that it is there, that's how accidents happen.

I'm really thinking of getting the Taurus 856 ultra lite for a possible carry wheel gun and as a backup to my HK VP9 at home. I also own the PT111 G2 for several years. I know some people hate that gun but I have found it to be reliable and easy to shoot- the trigger is something I've gotten used to.

Thank you. I own a G2 and a G2C. I've gotten where I like the trigger. I also like the finger pads. If you use a thumb forward grip, you can put your thumb on the front pad for a more secure grip and better accuracy. As well, the 856 would make a very good carry and back-up. At home the ultra-lite would make a good pocket carry for around the house. It was also make a good concealed carry for daily business outside of the home.

There is a lot of truth to that. You can buy Taurus at an inexpensive price and decide if you like a certain type of gun; then upgrade. However, there is another side to it I didn't mention that might have offended some people and that is price doesn't always equate to quality and function.
I have owned three different polymer pistols from S&W: an SD9-VE, an M&P 9, and a Shield in 9. I've shot other people's Sigs, XD's and Rugers. In my experience, the G2C has been a better gun all around and is a keeper, along with my Gen 3 Glock 19. Taurus has it's dogs and rejects like any other company, but they are not as bad as some try to make out.
If I were going to daily carry a polymer pistol, it would be the G2C hands down. It is compact for concealment, it is lightweight, I'm accurate with it, it holds 12 rounds, it has a safety, it has fed every round I've put in it, and I like the loaded round indicator. LOL - so you get to see the rest of the story. Thanks for subscribing.

I had to think about that. It depends. I tend to go for center sternum because that is the most likely target to disrupt the respiratory, circulatory or neural-muscular systems.
Now recently I went shooting with a former student who is an infantryman serving in Afghanistan. I noticed he shot fast and hit the target, but had a spread out group. I asked him about that. He said that in the army they didn't care about precision shooting; only that you hit the target and hit a lot.
Now for the military that makes sense. However, for citizen self defense, because we not only have to stop an attack, but have to worry about stray rounds hitting innocent bystanders and whether or not our round count could be judged by an over zealous prosecutor, I'd go with more precise shooting.

Hey Greg. How’s it going .? I really enjoy a revolver. I carry apendix . I really like to carry my Taurus 605 But I can’t find the right holster for iwb. Also the factory rubber grips hold up my clothes, (I can’t see myself paying to price online for the wood grips on Taurus website). So that puts me in a position where I find myself carrying my Kahr MK9 or CM9. So going back to what you spoke about stopping power . The truth is .38 spl or especially 357 mag have more stopping power then 9mm . But where a 9mm lacks stopping power it has a advantage of reloading faster and higher capacity as well. And with 9mm they make some really small firearms , like the db9 . Living in Florida ,size matters for sure especially in the area I live . We have lots of Yankees during our summer times . the right holsters makes a big difference .Will thanks for the video and the time to read this message.

Mike - I put that on the back burner to simmer. I think that would make a good video. Holsters have to fit the gun and your body type. Well it is worth a lot to many people, but so is having a roof over your head and food on the table for your family. If you are going to buy a gun, you also need a good holster and ammunition to practice with. If you live in an urban or suburban area; you'll also have to pay for a range to shoot at. The G.I.'s in Vietnam kind of proved that theory Nam had the highest round per casualty count of any conflict. I believe that Greg's markmanship is the best example here because in the civilian world more rounds fired means a higher possibility for collateral damage and no responsible armed citizen wants to wound or kill an innocent by stander.
